What is "basic income"?!!
Giving Unemployed people a chunk of money for free, so they can live, is something I always keep wondering about. Hell, there are some people who aren't even getting their monthly payment/salary for their work in my country.
I can't understand why would They deduct that money from employed/hard-working people to give it to unemployed one. Hence, I don't understand why the OP is sad (or angry) as his government deducted some of that free money which he didn't even lift a finger for it.

My gf worked at the welfare office and people would come in every month to get their checks or apply for benefits wearing fur coats and driving a brand new SUV.
I actually hope President Trump slashes benefits for people like this because they are leeches living off the hard work of others.
There is a term here- "Welfare Cadillac"

Basic income is a madman's idea to begin with. It should not even exist within a nation of intelligent individuals. But people complaining about not getting enough money for free should serve community work.
Only socialist daydreamers could come up with an idea such as basic income without any return service by the recipients of benefits. Thinking that basic income will improve the overall living situation is the same as thinking that printing more money will increase wealth. The simple reality based on logic is: If everyone receives a basic income without any preconditions, the basic income is worth nothing, because it is quickly inflated away by higher costs of living. For example, if a landlord can assume that everyone has at least a certain income, he/she will quickly raise the lease rate.

Turning it around - I think it's a very intelligent thing actually. You see - there is a great degree of automation of labor going on. As Elon Musk said - it's only matter of time when the universal basic income will come. One criticism of UBI is that it would cause decrease of motivation to work among citizens. Idk if there's any studies on it but I'd actually think it could be the other way around: the motivation to work would increase as they are financially more secure - no need to worry about paying bills etc. The quality of work could increase as well as the type of work. Also: more spending = more economic growth.
One of the main ideas about UBI is that as the taxes and living costs get way too high then there is just a need for this thing.

Lol how can finland have a basic income of 3000+ that's stupid. The basic income in Finland is if I understood correctly,about 500 dollars which is not bad considering in other european countries the minimum wage is less than that basic income... but I guess the cost of living in finland is higher than in said countries so at the end of the day is the same, you are fucked if you dont have a good paying job or business.

Basic income is not basic wage, guys. Basic income is the free money you get from the government while basic wage is the minimum salary you are guaranteed to receive by law IF you actually work the worst job ever. $3000/month in basic income is just too much.

Basic income is not basic wage, guys. Basic income is the free money you get from the government while basic wage is the minimum salary you are guaranteed to receive by law IF you actually work the worst job ever. $3000/month in basic income is just too much.
You still have a really large yearly income. In our country the basic wage for the year is only $3,000. Compare this to your $215,000, damn that's a great discrepancy. You complain to much. The world isn't fair, and you live in a place that far better than others! Say you save around 80% of that money, you still have $40,000 a year. What you do is work there and spend else where. Retire in countries that as low cost of living (versus your country's cost of living), you'll live like a king for sure.

You should consider yourself lucky to still have high basic income than other part of the world. But yes government will always suck from citizens raising taxes and with high inflation to print more fiat, that will increase cost of living. Its Better to run own business rather than doing same thing whole day for whole life and earn fixed salary per month.
Running your own business sounds easier said than done. Most business have a big initial investment, and if it goes bad, and odds are against you, you will go bankrupt in most cases. So the only viable business for poor people that need welfare would be an online business, and making money on the internet is hard. You need a lot of traffic to make 10 dollars a day, let alone more.

Many of the people facing like this problems in their life. Some people still not ready to understand about their employers. That is what like this problems occurs in their employers life. But there are some people having their works neat and making their co workers happy always. When you look at caseqatar you will find how much important the workers for their firm.

To be honest, as much as I love Finland, it's probably for the best that they're deciding to reduce some of the basic income they're giving out. I'm surprised so much is happening in Finland that appears to be negative, but I don't know enough about the country's government to have a good opinion.
You are very lucky with your situation right now. If you want you can transfer to our place in the Philippines. We are earning only 20$ a month and tha is below the minimum wage. Though I am working in the government I am not a regular employee and there are no benefits. If I stayed at home the government will not give me money for anything. NO work no pay. You are lucky finland government gives provisions to jobless individuals.
Come at my place and if you dont work, you will not earn, and you will die waiting for nothing. So be thankful of your governments effort, you are a lucky citizen.
Real talk here since im living on the same country as yours on which basic income is very low and the standard of living is somehow low compared to others thats why it depends on the economic state and they are basing on it thats why we have low salaries. In case of OP that basic salary for him is already not enough for him because the standard of living there is different and also telling him to transfer on our country is not easy., He will suffer for sure. hehe Come at my place and if you dont work, you will not earn, and you will die waiting for nothing.
