Had the same issue sa BDO few months ago. I tried opening an account sa kanila (davao branch) at ganun din yung tanong; saan daw galing yung pera ko dahil kapag may connection daw sa bitcoin, pupwede daw nila e close yung account. 'Di ko na tinuloy yung balak ko sa BDO, dun nalang ako sa BPI, but they asked the same question. So, I lied para 'lang makapag-bukas ako ng account.  Grin No point on being honest with these guys kung anytime pupwede nila e-close yung account mo just because connected ito with cryptocurrencies.

And pangit sa sitwasyon na to ay nakikita natin na iba-iba ang bawat banko sa kanilang ginagawa at paningin sa cryptocurrency...and this whole thing is warranting that the Bangko Sentral must come up with clear-cut guidelines and definitions that all banks must adhere to in relation to cryptocurrency and transactions related to it.

During the interview I was asked about my sources of income and the interviewer asked me if I am involved with Bitcoin and similar things and I honestly said yes but pointed out that this account is for PayPal and not for cryptocurrency transactions.

Ang reason na binigay ng interviewer is that the Central Bank has warned them about Bitcoin and similar business transactions as banks are not authorized to handle the same and if ever I am caught depositing or sending money from Bitcoin encashment to my account then the bank can forfeit the same money that's why the warning.

Totoo rin ata to sa iba pang bangko lalo na yung mga sikat at malalaki though I was able to deposit money to my Metrobank account before from Coins.Ph.

This is true but not the "forfeit" thing. Makukuha mo pa din siya as long as may mga docs ka mag papatunay sayo yung pera. I have a friend from BDO and manager siya doon, ni clarify niya sa akin ito.

I didn't know that of all the times I have been trying to withdraw. I never knew that it's not allowed or something. If I wanted to cash out, I would usually use eGiveCash but now, I also have a bank account there and deposit directly. Maybe the coins.ph owner has an account for transactions to handle that. Using bitcoin trading in another place or something. Just a theory.
