Most mining manufacturers would be considered a "scam" by most standards as it is not common to request customers to pay upfront for a product that will not be delivered for several months.
This is regardless if the company actually follows through or not.
I understand that the manufacturers used the preorder funds for development, however this is almost unheard of elsewhere in the economy.

I have never tried out any ASIC manufacturer myself. But my friend recently purchased his mining rig from Bitfury. Even he was surprised by the quickness of their shipment and delivery. So.. I need to withdraw my statement.

the better business bureau and other countries 'consumer protection' groups are not like government regulation. they do not charge fee's for licence and then sit on their asses, they do not set rules that are unfair. consumer rights is what businesses SHOULD follow.
