No sure why Electron Cash keeps crashing... you'd need to talk to the ElectronCash Devs (I'd suggest logging an issue on their GitHub issue tracker here: https://github.com/fyookball/electrum/issues)

It'll likely be related to this issue here: https://github.com/fyookball/electrum/issues/236

Also, the reason it won't work when using the "private keys"... is that a 2FA wallet is generated from a combination of multiple (ie. three) private keys... and when you use the "export" feature in Electrum, it'll only show you one of those three keys for any given address... when you import that one private key into another wallet, it cannot possibly generate the same addresses, as you're missing two of the private keys.

It's a slightly convoluted process... but it IS possible to get your coins out of a 2FA wallet using Electron Cash... follow this guide I wrote a few months ago: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21366179

I'd suggest using Electrum v2.9.3 and the latest version of Electron Cash (which I think is v2.9.4)

Electrum v2.9.3: https://download.electrum.org/2.9.3/
Electron Cash v2.9.4: https://www.electroncash.org/#download

Basically, the idea is to restore your Electrum 2FA wallet, in 2FA "disabled" mode... This puts 2 of the 3 private keys into the wallet file, which means you can spend without needing to use the 2FA service (TrustedCoin)... then you simply open that wallet file using Electron Cash... which should give you access to the BCH stored in those addresses Wink

Hi !

I tried what you suggested but when I open my "old wallet file" with eletron cash it just closes when i type my password (tried with diferrent cpus and vmware).

As u wrote "in Electrum do the following:

1. File -> New\Restore -> enter a new wallet file name like "newWallet" -> Standard Wallet -> I already a seed
2. Enter your 2FA seed... you should see some text that says "seed type: 2FA" appear next to the "Options" button
3. Click next and you should be prompted to "Keep" or "Disable"... select DISABLE and click Next
4. Your wallet will be restored.
5. Check that the addresses in this "new" wallet match the addresses in your "original" wallet.

If the addresses match, you have the correct seed and you should be able to get your BCH Smiley if they don't match, then you have the wrong seed and recovering your BCH is unlikely."

Both adresses matches but idk why i can't use my seed in eletron cash to recover or if I use private keys it keeps 0 BCH balance.

Thanks !

Your address is a P2SH address; it is likely a multisig address. This means that there are actually multiple seeds. If you only have one seed and are importing that, it will not work because you did not import the other seeds for the other keys in the multisig.

You are probably using the 2 factor authentication thing, so you will need to restore as a 2fa wallet, not a standard wallet.

I restored my old wallet as standard and 2fa, but idk how to make it work  Embarrassed

 - I have 2fa code / private keys / seed .I just want some tutorial to make it work (previously my wallet was with 2fa active).

Eletron cash does not have an option to import with 2fa so... i am lost  Undecided

Thank you for your help !

Hi everyone ! I am new to mining world and i would like some help to claim my bcc after the august 1 hard fork.

- I tried every tutorial on the internet and I failed to get my BCC ...

What i tried so far :

 - Tried this tutorial https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/claim-your-bitcoin-cash-balance-and-exchange-into-bitcoins-2078292 and failed. (Zero balance)
 - Tried import with btc.com (external wallet option). (No positive balances have been found.)

I have seed / private keys of the adress that i used on 2017-07-28 (transfered all my bitcoin to an electrum wallet).

Idk what i am doing wrong  Sad ....

I created new electrum wallet transfered my balance ... waited till confirm and installed in a Vm eletron cash then imported the private key (old wallet) and pufff (zero balance).

PS: Eletron cash just accept my private keys to import seems that seed is not working.
