A really good one from you OP and for those who are going to not take this seriously, I don't wish a Cyber attack on you so you don't get to have the terrible experience that may cost you money and for some others it has cost them their lives, I mean a period when all they have got was taken and stolen from them via cyber attacks, it's enough to get one really thinking and making attempts to hurt them self or sending them into critical situations that some never gets to survive.

Every precaution possible and available, make sure to use them effectively for your protection and good so you don't get to become victim of any circumstance at any point, not only with your crypto assets but other digital assets.

Scammers are always trying to be one step ahead of us, let's be careful and always be on guard, before it was links we need to look closely to make sure that it is the right one, maybe changing of O with 0 or similar, now aliexpress.com as we know it isn't even aliexpress.com anymore.

Sadly the scammers are more innovative than us. They discover new ways every time we figure out their old methods. Lately, the scammers using ad networks to spread their malware so they can hack your devices. They run ads on social media with video ads which shows people winning million dollars on slot games. People visit these platforms by clicking on the link and their device get compromised somehow. Luckily, I am not a victim and I hope people will stay away from these scams. I hope people will expose those new scam methods so others can be aware of these scams.

That is right, but we have one weapon as well, that is to educate ourselves with this kind of attacks. Scammers might be more innovative, but if we learn what the tricks are, or we really don't trust anyone very easy, then we will not fall for this kind of trick.

The thing with many of us is that we easily believed on what we see and hear on the internet, and with it, we don't verify. That's why if we could just educate ourselves, then we should be the one ahead of this game and not those cyber criminals.

Protect yourself from these attacks by

1. Moving your funds into an offline open source/noncustodial wallet.
2. Find a book and write down your favourite dApps URL, I do this a lot and it has helped my for years.
3. Avoid using search engine to find your dApps.
4. Avoid clicking on random links and Ads.
These are really great advice you gave because indeed once its coming to the end of the year, like the Mber month, scammers, both online or offline whether through links, contacts, everything, they try to pull their games in because everyone wants to ball in December. They want to have Dirty December and Decemball, so we must be careful.

Though writing out links might sound outdated, but if it's something that works for somebody, I will say go ahead and try it because you can never be too careful. And then, like maybe, you can use a Google Doc, copy and paste all your favorite links so you can go through it from there if it's not already saved in browser.

Just about anything to protect your crypto accounts from scanner because they will pull there A game to look so identical like the real site
They'll have Christmas sales, holiday ads, best crypto exchange to trade in next year and all that to lure you in so let's  be very careful.

Hackers will continue to steals people's funds from many ways. They can spread virus, phishing, or even scamming to trick people and get their funds. If people are not careful with what they will do when they access the Internet, they will falls into the hacker's trap and lose their money. Many times these hackers uses an old ways to trick their victims and make them not realize and think that something bad will happen to them.

Once their victim panic, they can not think clear and will follow the instruction to make sure their devices safe again. But that is a trick from the hackers to get their victim funds and many times the hackers succeed for that. We must really be careful by not clicking any suspicious links that we are not sure. We don't have to believe for some offers that looks too good to be true.

I just tried to google polymarket, but I don't see the ads.

So I choose to google Binance, I found the ads, but when I click it, it's not a phishing, instead it's just someone referral link. Which mean it's not harmful, I just want to know how the phishing looks a like, but definitely no one should click the ads link.
Hah? Do you want to see what phishing looks like? You should not I guess. The phishing websites look the same as the original ones. The only difference is the URL. Sometimes they buy so similar domain names that if you do not examine it carefully, you might think it's the real one. I pranked a lot of Phishing websites by putting random credentials on them.

I have to disagree, I think this might be the right moment to move your coins to centralized exchange (if you want to sell your coins) because the fee is still cheap and Bitcoin will start to bullish in the next month.
What if they choose other ways to sell them? Centralized exchanges aren't safe. They often close deposits/withdrawals when the network is a little bit loaded.

The least anyone can do is use ad blockers to get rid of those sponsored advertisements that appear at the top of search results. Better yet, don't search anything related to money, crypto, and financials on Google. Use https://duckduckgo.com/ as an alternative.

Google will gladly sponsor anyone who pays them enough for such promotions. And they will block and make inaccessible anything our puppet-states order them to. Get around restrictions with trusted VPNs, DuckDuckGo, and an ad blocker.

Nothing to do with end of the year, this can happen anyday to anyone no matter who. Phishing is the most common scam and it not only affects the Crypto market, it can affect anyone including normal banking or any other eCommerce website. I remember Gmail used to have a single page for Email and Password, that was used for phishing and then only afterwards, they decided to move from single page to multi-page login process. One page for email, and other for password.
Yeah it could happen anytime of the year. Its best we are always observant and vigilant of any form of scams. The thing is that when it comes to the end of the year. A lot of these scams are eager and desperate to push out their scam plans. Perhaps its because of the need to get money for the Christmas holidays, vacation's going to see Santa with their kids and all the funs that comes during the end of the year. Whether end of the year or not we should take not of their new ways of scamming people so that we wont fall for it.

We have three more months before we say goodbye to 2024 and both pros and beginners are gearing up for the coming uptober like many people are calling October, even if we failed to get a uptober, one thing is certain, a full blow up top is coming.

Now imagine going through all the hassle since the beginning of this year and you ended up losing everything you've worked so hard for?

Hackers are crafting and placing phishing ads online everywhere with URLs that looks nearly identical to the original.

The name of this tactic is called Dynamic Redirect Options . ..

If you don't know what dynamic redirect means, it is a powerful feature that allows the hackers and scammers to redirect their visitors to a specific page or platform and the crazy part of this menace is that the result is based on various conditions like Locations, Search terms, Languages, Device types and many more.

These scammers now have the ability using dynamic redirect tool to bypass security scanners by cloaking their malicious websites and pages with the original websites.

Protect yourself from these attacks by

1. Moving your funds into an offline open source/noncustodial wallet.
2. Find a book and write down your favourite dApps URL, I do this a lot and it has helped my for years.
3. Avoid using search engine to find your dApps.
4. Avoid clicking on random links and Ads.

the thing you have to be careful with are email links, this is one of the most dangerous attacks and it has victimized a lot even companies, because once it has been downloaded in to you're system all computers or devices on you're network will be infected most common are ransomware, they are active even if its not end of year.
Scammers are always trying to be one step ahead of us, let's be careful and always be on guard, before it was links we need to look closely to make sure that it is the right one, maybe changing of O with 0 or similar, now aliexpress.com as we know it isn't even aliexpress.com anymore.

There are usually scammers within the end of years with several strategies to scam people especially online and crypto has become a major target with the media being flooded with enticing news. It is sure that take crypto coins will trend, social influencers will displays and fake crypto projects would be launched.
Many of them comes when the bull run has come or approaching. That's why they seem to be back from being dead and trying to fetch many victims for as long as they can be.

And with these crypto influencers, better not trust them at all when they are all for money because they can get paid to advertise and at the same time keep their mouth shut when things go south.

This is actually going to be a threatening session so we have rto he more careful and concious with what we do online and offline as thefts and fraudsters would not set their potential victims free.
Yes, and don't get into the hype when you don't know what you're doing. FOMO is one of the reasons why many fall for such.

It is sad that evil people have no conscience, they do all these and still have the gut to go to church on Sunday for prayers, do you know that scammers also celebrates Christmas? Some are caught in the act in my country and they claimed they are scamming people because of Xmas celebration since it is a must to make their families celebrate.

Also, it is true and weird that crime rates increase more when Xmas is coming, maybe not in other part of the world but this is accurate in my country, the cybercriminals and voodoo practitioners increase their efforts to Cary out operations because the year end is near.

I can remember while growing up, every year, armed robbers will come for banks start from September to December in my country, it has become a norm that they will even write to the police that they are coming.

Back to why I wrote the topic like that, end of the year is always a rep for celebration, it will be a disastrous Xmas if anyone loses their assets at the period and also, I've seen scammers putting in more effort to scam people at this period for end of the year celebration.

Need to double check website addresses is extremely important. Small typing mistake can cause big problems as you saw with your recent error. If you enter private information into fake website hackers can easily take control of your account. This close call reminds us to check every detail carefully especially when sharing sensitive information. Taking few extra seconds to be cautious can keep your online information safe.
The worst thing to do is to go to Google and search for websites, especially those that have to do with finance, fund, exchange, or whatever it may be, because the first suggestion can be the wrong link (the clone) of the original, and if the person is not careful enough, they will login their information for the main site to that place, which could lead to losing funds. I prefer to bookmark my most used website, as I consider it safer compared to typing the website and using suggestions each and every time.

The title should be be extremely careful even if it's not the end of the year. Always thinking about being very careful should be the main thing to do because phishing sites or schemes like this doesn't wait for no one. When there's a victim then they will take action right away that's why being careful shouldn't be because the year is coming to an end and it should be very careful all the time because even those people who are very careful did also made a mistake.

You can avoid all of this by buying a new phone at a cheap price and using it for cryptocurrency transactions only, or creating an air-gapped setup using a flash or USB, or buying a suitable hardware wallet. All of these are cheap solutions that greatly enhance your security.

Even when you have a book with all the URLs written down, make sure you double check the URL before pushing the 'Enter' button on your keyboard.  A few days ago I accidentally wrote my Bitcoin Talk CCode URL but misspelled bitcointalk.org as bitcontalk.org.  Had I not received an error page, I could of entered my credentials to a bad actor who would then easily take control over my Account.

Double check every thing.  Triple check if possible.  It never hurts to be preventive.

It doesn't matter if the year ends or a new one begins, but in any case, you must take responsibility for the security of your assets. This is your money and you must first save it so that you have the opportunity to multiply it.
