Where do you bet on these?
(..)
I saw history of odds on nitrogenesports, and also they have some thread before here created about Miss Universe. And recently someone after your post said OneHash able to manage to include before the Miss Universe.

I don't like gambling on jury sports. It's all about the jury's favorite and not always the best person wins.
Because why not? The judges are also judging them and giving points base on their performance, base on their personality, base on their answers on the Question and Answer portions.

Even without corruption, judges have their own biases. Many times crowd favorites don't win these pageants.
I think in some beauty pageants there are different awards such like that, crowd favorite or people's choice.

It never crossed my mind that people bet on these pageants! I just thought gals and gays just go on to viewing parties and watch and scream hysterically. I personally don't know anyone who has bet on a Ms. Universe pageant.

Something like a beauty contest is too subjective for me to bet on.  The decisions is entirely on a panel of judges.  Instead of something like a basketball game that has a very direct and final result without much influence from a 3rd party.  Too easy for the result of this to be fixed by corrupt judges.

These are the issues why betting on Miss universe wouldnt be considered to be worthy due into these various reasons.
Like said about biases and other controversial decisions.Even a crowd favorite wont really give out assurance to take the crown in the end.
We can somehow see their qualities and performance,Q&A but those arent enough for you to be convinced on what would be the possible result.

I don't feel comfortable placing bets on beauty pageants. It suppose to be for a good cause and entertainment. I feel all the efforts to promote good will thru outreach programs gets tainted.

Anyone here tried to gamble in some Beauty Contest? Just like Miss Universe.
How was your experience in gambling with this kind of tournament, like the risk or greed?

Also, when you are betting in such beauty contests, how we can select the winner like the basis on it especially when the pageant is not yet started.
And what other possibilities games to bet in one beauty contest? Just like in basketball, there are A.) first half highest point, B.) Over and under overall total scores, C.) Odd/even total scores, etc.
I'm pretty aware of this kind of betting yet anytime theres a miss universe event.People on my country does bet against with other people p2p.
I cant see any bookies that do offer this one ever since based on my awareness. Betting would be selected directly on winner and some
awards being pulled up by a certain candidate.

This is the first time that this kind of betting is existing. I never really expected that gambling has extended it's arms to be even at a beauty contests, well as long as their is to bet why the hell not. I would gladly bet in our countries beauty queen of course. Maybe I would bet on others too, in regards that our representative had lost and did not make up to the final rounds. I would try look into this betting when it is time for miss Universe, I am excited and looking forward to my first bet.

This is kinda tricky if one does not know how pageants work or who to root for. These pageants may have some favorite beauties to win although for the most part, it still as random as it can get. Heck, I might just consider betting on Chili Hotdog Eating contest and other crazy stuff that appears on some bookies rather than a beauty pageant which I'm not very fond of.

Well, there's social media now right? Organizers always make sure they create a lot of buzz before the main competition starts with all these events and interviews involving the participants. If you pay close attention, you'll probably have a better idea on who to pick.
Ahh, I see, so you just only base on the rumors and opinions spreading around. How about pre pageant (e.g. tours, photoshoots, reach out programs etc.)? I think that would be an effective source of info before choosing your bet. What do you guys think? However, this would be useless if we assume that the schedule of placing bets should only be done on or before the beauty queens gather and start to do their business. So I guess everything still depends on the rules being said by the initiator of the given betting game Grin.

                                                ~snip~

This kind of gambling contest would be interesting and exciting for men!
However, I don't know if I can personally bet on such a contest. I am sure that I am going to lose all my money. Every woman would look like a winner to my eyes so I couldn't decide which to choose.
I don’t think that Beauty Pageant/Contest is interesting for Us men(unless you are one)never in my circle of friends and also family members who’s ofcourse the Guys only, has something to do watching or entertained watching this kind.though the Girls Do always

But betting in this is entertaining I guess but will be hard for me as I am not familiar on how the pageant goes

I don't like gambling on jury sports. It's all about the jury's favorite and not always the best person wins.
Is it!?thats not a good idea if this is how the way works betting on this part will be controversial as Jurors have their own favorites to win and the Bets are not safe to gamble

I were to do it one day, my major criteria for choosing would be Popularity and Wittiness.
Hmm, aside from Philippines, Columbia and Venezuela what are the other powerhouses when it comes to beauty pageants? Popularity could be a great criteria for choosing your bet but how will you able to pick the right one before the pageant starts? What will be your effective basis to do so? (Hmm, I wonder Huh)

Fuckin hell!  Grin
Honestly, betting on beauty contest?

What metrics do you want to analyze? Face, boobs? It's difficult though since no meaningful stats here as far as I know. I mean the participants were always new right? More like a lottery IMO.

Haven't tried this one and it's a new idea to me. First time seeing it. But for me, betting for the winner will most likely be biased, depending on what country you are. Of course, you would support your country's representative.

There are analysts where they monitor every candidate, from every country's pageant like Miss *insert country* up to pre pageant, until the coronation. There's a lot of factor in monitoring who would likely to win Miss U. Talent, popularity, attitude, and how they answer q and a.

About the 'games' you're pertaining, they could bet who would win such award; who would make it to the final 10 or 5 and etc.

Although I always fail in predicting the winners of such contests, I would like to try my luck this year with betting real money on the one I think is the best. I tried to google it, but it looks like no reputable gambling sites are accepting such bets. I may be wrong, but I think it is perfectly suitable for the freebitco.in's betting section. I'd surely bet on one of the beauties, if this option was added there.

Your fail may be because you are not from the beauty industry. There are many aspects that need to be assessed in a beauty contest, maybe only people in the beauty industry understand. Or if you are a make-up student, you will definitely know what aspects of the jury affect their assessment.

I myself will not try contests like this because I do not like and do not understand what aspects are judged by the jury. I'll bet on sports or dice, because that's all I understand. So in my opinion, don't bet on what you don't understand.

Excuse me, I wonder if there is really a sportsbook or any gambling site which offer such kind of game? Or this can only be a game which you can establish on your own? I mean, doing it only for fun? Though this is not my first time to here a concept like this, I'm still curious Grin.

IIRC onehash have this before on their special events tab. There's no unusual feeling and it's just the same like betting on NBA games. I'm not really following these kinds of pageant and just bet if ever I want to.

Also, when you are betting in such beauty contests, how we can select the winner like the basis on it especially when the pageant is not yet started.
If you are following the contest, you can base on your intuition and assessment regarding the feedback of the people who really are following them.

I haven't tried to bet or is there ever one? I'm thinking of making bets in a sports betting site and the category of it is beauty contests? Since you brought this up, maybe you have some experience about it?

If I were to consider betting in a contestant. The categories that I will definitely consider are looks, personality, and popularity.

  • Looks - this would be the first one to be considered, not that you should judge immediately what is "pleasing" to you but we all have a different type of look that we would like to see to someone. Browse all the contestant's photographs and determine.
  • Personality - if I had the time to really look into the contestants, I would check videos or background check on how they act normally, not because there is a camera pointed at them but how genuine they could be. Something like that.
  • Popularity - this is an important category because I know this would determine the people's votes? Or depends on the contest. I'm not really sure but this is an important factor too.

I would have liked to see also eloquence to be added to this list. Eloquence is about communication whatever the language the person is known with. Beauty without good communication is not complete as a pageant or beauty queen.
