Fact is that when people post a topic for Merits than it counts in spam. And if anyone post a topic or comment to a topic to help others or to give knowledge to others than definitely the post Merited by the members ( I am saying after eyeing many posts).
You are posting for merits but it counts as a spam? How on Earth? I think if you main goal is to get merits then of course you will give your very best on that post, isn't it? Thus your post got a lesser possibility to be called as a spam (unless you come to the point of begging). I can't understand, am I missing some points? Please enlighten me.

Anyway, I love the concern you are showing as well as the initiative to remind them but IMO it is not necessary in the first place. What seems here is that you are trying to spoonfeed them, hmm sort of tolerating their laziness. I mean, those threads are not too hard to find and lots of versions of it are scattered all around the forum so it's impossible that they don't even have a glimpse of it. If they don't like to read then it's not our problem anymore. Just let them deal with the consequences once they made a mistake.

Thanks for the wonderful information. Many people have come and gone simply because they refused to follow laid down rules or I should say because they focus on the less important things (merit) and lost focus on more important thing. A lot could be gain from the higher members of the forum if one really calm down and does not lose focus.  I'm a living example of this. Just yesterday I post on the forum because I was confused on where to store my assets. The responds I got from the higher members really enlightened me and I can say my level of exposure has really increased.

When I joined this forum. I joined to do bounties only. But after my 1st most which I actually posted to get merits, I was convinced by a lot of responses. And since then, I've noticed that one need to go trough the forum very well before staring to disturb the forum environment as you have said
I also realize that even if any member joined the forum because of bounty. So far they are active and read threads, They will know how amature they are because they will definitely learn a lot of new things.
Thanks for this thread. It will help a lot.

I am just trying to learn and giving mostly time to the forum.
I want to start posting but I want to share two posts which helps me a lot and All new members should read these posts.

Thank you for highlighting those posts. True, as with any other forum or online community, it is crucial to get acquainted with the rules and best practice prior to any other engagement. I'm new here too and mostly still learning, but I have experience from other forums, and I know what the 'posting etiquette' is. While I've personally read these posts before, it's always a good idea to emphasize the need for all newcomers to get to know them. Once again, thank you for this!

It's a sure thing, these are two important posts one needs to have visited at least once to get get acquainted with the forum as one. So many new users having no prior knowledge of the forum even with orientation from whom ever might have introduced them to Bitcointalk, find themselves confused with the numerous topics on the boards. They don't know what to say, how to put it and stay out of trouble. These two posts could be the remedy of that as, it encompasses both the rules and how to arrange a post to be more appealing and stay off trouble as well.

Not many newbies could play around the meta section of the forum for fear of being prey on as it's a section where most ranked up members use but, you've been able to play around it and have brought out a helpful topic to aid fellow beginners, that's good.

I really hope other beginners could do as you've done, not stick to one board alone due to fear, if you ain't sure of what to post, read the available to gain knowledge and you'll be grounded in time on all subjects. It gets easier.

I am just trying to learn and giving mostly time to the forum.
I want to start posting but I want to share two posts which helps me a lot and All new members should read these posts.

And want to say to the new members that never think about the merits because these are not compulsory thing. Just learn here you can get a lot of knowledge.

Fact is that when people post a topic for Merits than it counts in spam. And if anyone post a topic or comment to a topic to help others or to give knowledge to others than definitely the post Merited by the members ( I am saying after eyeing many posts).

And one more thing when new members comes they never go to the pinned posts. They just start posting which always disturb the environment of the forum.

Two posts which I want to share one is pinned post and second is posted by a member.
