It takes a great effort and hard work to achieve the legendary member. It isn't easy to get merits and increase your rank because there's a process and it requires you to make good and informative posts. Personally, it is one of my goals, but I know that it won't help if I don't have enough knowledge. It is the reason why I focus on acquiring knowledge and experiences because it is my primary objective when I join the forum.

Yes its funny the this OP has no merit yet he manage to give advice.
I heard you want proven advice from the best quality poster ever existed, my mom said that's me!

Read this: Newbie's Guide to Getting Merit (Proven)

FYI this is my first and the only active account here and I started from zero without knowing anyone.

New members seem to be trying to copy the old ways of getting merits, which they have seen from others.
Once someone started such a topic and got some merits and now everyone is trying the same way  Grin Grin
The fact is that there have been too many such topics and tips on merits lately from newbie members and that members are already tired from it.
If you don’t have something new and original, based on your own experience, you better not write about it anymore.
Guys, you better learn first from members like mu_enrico   Cheesy

Yes its funny the this OP has no merit yet he manage to give advice. In my humble opinion. Unless you have a bright mind , and you offer something for FREE in the Bitcointalk community YOU CANNOT earn merit. Look see my number of posts, I should be a Hero or maybe a Legendary now. But I am stuck as Sr.Member forever.

So if you are a newbie, sorry you have a 1% chance to become a Legendary in Bitcointalk.

Sad but true!

Buddy, why don't you make a small topic and you really master it? It is much better than you create a topic like this. How can a member who still can't earn single merit, trying to give advice to others about how to earn merits effectively? Even you stated that way can guide you to achieve the legendary member rank. Is it logical and trustable, buddy? NO buddy, people will doubt your suggestion and probably laugh on you. Commonly, people only believe in you once you can prove it yourself.

Regarding what you wrote in the OP, I think it is too general. Even, almost all of them* are not specifically related to the way of earning merits. Make it more specific and more technical.

I also ever made a thread/topic which also covers suggestions related to how to earn merits. Please, check it below:

Thread/topic
  • Create a useful/helpful thread or topic.
  • Its content should be informative, easy to understand, and clearly enough
  • The sentences have a correct grammatical function and written in proper punctuation.
  • The paragraphs are made in the right order, from opening to closing.
  • The topic is delivered in a simple or straightforward manner. Don't make it complicated.
  • Unique. It mustn't a copy-paste/plagiarism work.

Reply
  • It should be on topic.
  • The sentences have a correct grammatical function and written in proper punctuation.
  • The idea/opinion must be reasonable, unique, and factual.
  • The idea/opinion has value or something informative.
  • It must be better presenting data or enclosing information sources.

Besides making threads or replies, we can do other things:
  • Help others. When people asking about information related to forum, exchanges, wallet, or etc
  • Report spammers, merit abusers, or bounty cheaters

*The list above is created based on my own opinion. If you have others, you can add it to your lists.
Source: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53516845

Anyway, I hope you can more focus to improve your own account first. You are free to give any suggestions about merits, but it will better if you prove it yourself first.  Wink

As a newbie that became Legendary after introduced merit system I can say that the best way to achieve any desired rank is using cryptocurrency forum like it needs to be used. Learn about cryptocurrency and bitcoin, educate yourself all day long, talk to experienced users in order to get some useful tips and thus learn more. Learning is the key. If you don't know nothing about subject and, which is more important, you don't want to evolve by learning every day, you won't get any progress I promise you. Only participate in those discussions where you have something useful to add. That  's another important aspect to get your rank. Talk about what is really interesting to you personally. Merit shouldn' t be a goal to achieve. The goal is to become better version of yourself by educating on new subject which is bitcoin and cryptocurrency space as a whole.

When I look at this topic I thought it is came from a real Legendary member and giving some tips and advice to their users but it was wrong and it gives me shock when I see the this it looks like a click bait on the title. By the way I think if you do this according to your list @OP why still does not have any merit? It is hard to tell that your list is true because also you do not have earn any merits yet. And most of your post are focusing on counties.
So Readers If someone is just wondering that why they are not getting any kinds of merit and stuck in a just newbie position than I will say that you will be pleased to know the following things that you should have just kepp in mind as follows.

You forgot to mention the most important thing why some users do not have a single merit, and it directly affects you. Your post history is 99% about bounties apply, and such posts will never be rewarded with merits. Accordingly, what you are doing now can only be a simple attempt to catch some merit, or you have decided to get a little more involved in other parts of the forum. If it's about the latter, and if you show that you want to contribute to the forum in some way, you will surely be rewarded for that.

I think the OP just want to have any single merit to gain just to rank up to Jr. To Member that's why created this thread,  OP you can't get any merit on bounties having a great contribution is one of the best thing to gain merit and also it is not a race and it takes time to get merit and rank up. But IMO I'm not satisfied to your thread because of the reflection on your contents and 0 merits.

Sorry to say, but how ironic that someone who doesn't have merits is giving advice on how are we going to get some, but anyway, thanks for the advice. Cheesy

I have seen so many tips on how are we going to get merits but this thread is the most helpful for me https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ranking-up-is-possible-2900-merits-earned-in-less-than-12-monthsmy-11-hints-5098333

I hope you read this well too. Dont aim for high rank instead be part of the community and join the discussion actively without spamming of course.
Well said, we're not here to get a high rank, we are all here to participate and get knowledge about cryptocurrency and blockchain if I am going to define this forum, this forum aims to have discussion about cryptocurrency. I know getting high rank is what we all want here, it shows how great we are but always remember that we should mind first the knowledge we get from this forum.

That's right if you want to earn a good rank increase our knowledge too and the knowledge is borderless also we have now the internet and the search engines to make more easier to find information If you want to dream the Legendary earn for it, hard work on it.

Question : Did you ever get merit?
Oh Brother I am a New here in this forum. So that does not mean that I am a newbie and do not know anything. Cause I have no merit so I am new???
That is not a true bro. And also I will say that I am big Blogger that is always Posting my post. And I will soon get Merit here too.

In your title you're saying that you're offering a guide to reach Legendary rank, but with your English and your post quality you won't even reach Jr. Member. If posting worthless guides is your method of ranking up, I will disappoint you - users here are not dumb to shower you with merits just because your title contains the word "guide".

Yes, you have to prove that you can get it too. All forum users are entitled to get merit, but only on constructive and quality posts and that is what drives theymos to implement a merit system in the forum.

Believe me, even though you are a big blogger or whatever but if you cant post high quality things, you also wont get any merit. Post history will also determine whether you really have the contribution and desire to get it. If your posting history only reports on social media assignments on bounty, it will be difficult for you to get it. One or two of your good posts will only be judged as a worthy merit.

Other things aside, aiming for high rank and merits may be awesome to have, but I'd rather pick the brains and wisdom of those who actually earned a lot of bitcoin here (including other alts for that matter also), either through hodling, trading, etc. Grin

There are still a lot of holes in your guide but if you're going to do to follow your own guide I'm pretty sure you could earn merits and rank up but the thing is we just don't know if how long it is going to take.

There is no guide for increasing or earning merits here in the forum, it just a matter of who is going to send you merit because you have a great topic or post. Good luck!

I did not try to read the op when I see the is newbie without merit and the user also guiding others on how to earn merit to become Legendary  Smiley So my suggestion to OP, you can follow your own instructions. I visited you profile maybe this is your 4th post without the bounty section. So generally you are bounty hunters. And it's good that you started already to visit other sections too. It's a good sign for you. Keep the work up and curious to know something in this forum. then I hope you will be legendary before making others.

In contrast, if OP want to begin his new life on the forum, say good bye to bounties and focus on contributions, someday soon merits will come.

I was never (as far as I remember) interested in bounties, the first satoshi I got was from the signature campaign and only when I became a Full member (before that I hadn’t even tried to participate in similar things). I know that some members have managed to build their reputation on the forum by participating in bounties and other parts of forum (there was a discussion about it somewhere), but in that case you should be very careful what you promote because as far as I can see there are a lot of pretty suspicious projects out there.

I can’t say I don’t understand how individual members think, it’s always easier to go down the line of least resistance and try to make some money - than to build your profile and one day have the privilege of becoming a member of some respectable signature campaign.

In the last few months, I have noticed a lot of examples where members with 0 merits and a considerable number of posts/activities write somewhat meaningful posts, but it is difficult to conclude at first what they aim to achieve. In such situations it may be better to refrain and observe whether there is a continuity of good posts, which can then be very easily rewarded.

That is what the basic things that you really need to do in order to earn merit. But I want to say that you don't just aim to be a legendary member here in the forum, aim to gain and increase our knowledge about crypto at blockchain. This forum is just one of the places that can help us in our journey but there's a lot more to discover. I have already seen a lot of similar threads on how to earn merits, and I bet most of us already know what should we supposed to do to achieve higher ranks. We are aware of these criteria but being a Legendary Member is not easy because it takes a lot of effort and dedication into it.

What we really need to earn merit is to gain knowledge first. We can't make a good contribution if we know nothing.  Although you don't have merits yet, you are already aware of how to earn. Thank you for your tips and I hope to see you with merits by applying these lists you made.

Tips should, to really provide insights, should be coming from those that know a bit more about the Merit System inside out, and are either in the frequent merited side, or the frequent meriter one.

Regardless:
- "1": It’s not all about topics. There is an abundance of redundant topics, and a well places answer on a thread could be merited just as well. Topic creators do seem to receive more merits than answers though, thus the redundant abundance.

- "2": It depends on what you do while you are on the forum. Bounties tend to be very distant cousins to Merits for example.

- "3": As in build “relationships”? It may have some sort of (sublevel) effect, but only if one posts with certain decency to begin with.

- "4": Trust should not have any saying (unless it’s negative, when it may act as a deterrent).

- "5": That per se does not qualify to be merited. It is what one should avoid, simply because it should be natural. If it’s not natural, then there’s an issue there.

- "6": Again, not a Merit related feature, unless you capture someone performing C&P without adding a source (a simple report to Moderators should suffice though).

Note: The term "guide" is over sold as of late.

What OP write is can be easily written by anyone else and it is worse than many other topics. Both the OP and the post history of OP don't convince me to give away a single merit. I am sorry for that fact.

Bilugi, there is no ''big secret'' here.
If you want to get merit, simply write quality and constructive posts, something that contributes to the forum.
You can give advice if you have your own experience in something, otherwise it's not credible.
I think we have had too many topics like this lately.

Nice advice, I think you should also do some of your own advice so you can get merit as well  Grin before you persuade other people on some of what you are saying you should be a role model as well, people would tend to believe someone if the person who is talking is being good of what he is talking about, I have seen so much advice in this forum so to avoid some redundancy of the topics, you may use the search button at the right top corner so you would be able to know if there are already some existing topics about what you are thinking.

Option #2 and #4 are irrelevant to this topic. Of course, you will always online if you are willing to spend your time in the forum in getting more technical stuff regarding cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech. English language skills are very important when constructing a good post, correct grammar, and spelling plus thought, these are constructive. Become trusted users will not help you to gain merit, it's purely constructive and knowledgeable post might the reason to catch some interest from other members to give merit(s).

I suggest you visit this thread, the TMAN'S guide to getting merit.
