The next version of GUI miner should contain mineco.in as a default option!

For OSX I would recommend Diablo miner, but you'll need to know how to use the terminal...

We are still offering a 5 BTC bonus at our pool, which should be a nice incentive for newbies Smiley

Glad it helped.

A shameless plug:

We are giving away a 5BTC Bonus to whomever finds our first block! This won't be taken from the pool reward, but from my personal wallet!

No problem!

I think it's fair to say that most newbies are running Windows, but I will try and get a MacOSX version up tomorrow - work permitting.

Thanks nixpins

Setting up your own mining pool is a reasonably complex process.

The mining pool software is open source, but it still requires quite a bit of time to get it all working - once that is done you need to make sure you have good enough hardware to run it all one, and then you have a pool with no front end. There are some open source pool front ends linked here on the forums, but I don't know how mature any of them are. I installed a few of them before deciding to code my own.

Your site has a pretty slick aesthetic, I have to say.

Interesting.....
Thank you.

I've been looking for something like this for a while now.

I'm also interested in a make-your-own pool guide.

Keep up the good work.

I'm going to stick to suggesting people get their own wallet primarily though - I think it's for the best.

Yea, I'm not comfortable enough with the online wallets to even try that.  Not that I have a ton of (or even one) BTC to put in one, but I would rather not trust anything online to keep my stuff secure at this point.
