For me the top 5 are a quite a safe bet, they drop too, but not so volatile in BTC value. Dollar stays quite same so it is a good hedge.

In order to choose a coin, you need to analyze the graph of its price. And if the coin is now on the bottom, you can buy it. This will give you a profit in a short time.
Sometimes I'm doing exactly that, and it did give me a good result, but only for short time investment, we'll need a different strategy for long term investment...
Reading whitepaper, and analyzing if the project will bring a huge benefit to the society might be what you need to do for a lont term investment strategy, but sometmes it's tricky tough~
I think that is so true. You need to make a distinction between short term trading based on charts and long-term investing based on fundamental.

Yes.. most altcoin going to be red recently. Bitcoin also red but because the segwit today, bitcoin price slowly increase. Many trader want to get free coin and it lift the price up.

I think Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin and Monero are always good investments especially now as you can buy them at lower prices.
I think Stratis is also a good choice for now. The price didn't fall while all other coins fell in price very much. This is a sign of its popularity. Stratis can rise very much after Correction of Bitcoin ends.

Buy the one which have fell by maximum % in last 24 hour but have huge daily trading volume, they are the one which are oversold during correction and chances of them gaining some quick 10-20% pump next day is really high. So I think they are the safest investment during blood bath.

It is probably ethereum. It didn2t really lose too many value. It hit all time high very later than most of these altcoins. It is still getting used by many people. Ethereum is nicest coin to hold.

I think we are already too late, correction happened. At least %20 loss from the top for all coins.
I wish I sold my Ethereum over $500 and stay in USD. Now I have no choice other than waiting this correction to over.

IOTA, EOS, NEO, XMR, KMD, POWR, LSK, TRIG, XMR, QTUM... to name a few.

I think ethereum would be a goof choice to hedge into in times like these. Power ledger without a doubt is one good coin but do not put all you portfolio in one coin, diversify it in at least three alts. For this reason, I also recommend you OP to invest onto much stabler coins in price now like waves. There are also other coins that are good to hedge into, just remember to look into altcoins that retained having a price for a long time now they might get pumped up soon. There are so many coins out there, it's hard to work out what is best.
Sometimes I wonder if the right strategy is to look at all the coins listed on Poloniex, and set buy orders at their lows. and buy the lot. It seems to me that almost every single coin gets pumped at some point, so the key is buying at a good price and just waiting.
