Hi.  I have a small amount of BTC left over from a few years ago that I forgot about until reading about all this price volatility in the news.

Is there any reputable exchange out there to trade btc?  I don't want to cash out to fiat, I just want to take advantage of the intraday volatility.

Any suggestions are welcome.  Thanks!
so many popular bitcoin exchange in this post, they are good, coinbase, kraken, bitfinnex, its all for trading bitcoin to USD or other currency, and for altcoin exchange, poloniex and bittrex still the best i think. or you can trade to local person to exchange your bitcoin to local currency Grin

For EUR try Kraken.

For USD go for Bitfinex.

My favourites too Sir.
Bitfinex is my all time favourite though.
With altcoins i also can recommend bittrex

That's cook dude. I won't use to trade altcoins, I only use to go with bitcoin only. Normally I use to go with local bitcoins.com to trade my bitcoins. It's much easier and faster to sell and buy bitcoins flat there. Need to find a right trader with fine reviews and feedbacks.

If you are from Europe Better to go with Kraken for High income and value. If you wanna go with little trading You could have go with Localbitcoins.com Its Easy as well as very efficient to sell and buy bitcoin. Just need to find a better trader with good trust.

How many of you guys trade on Bitfinex? What is your experience with their platform? I tend to see quite a lot of lagging at times when there is increased trade action.

I have been pleased with bitfinex.

Also, the margin funding facility is a good way to generate interest income from simply lending BTC short-term, although current rates are quite low.

Why in the world would anyone use poloniex to do their trades ? For me it's only good for small/unknown altcoins that are not available
at larger and more well known exchanges. Risks of using such exchanges is great, because they don't have that good of a business running
and have more of an incentive to run away with finds, than to base their profits on fee's.

Poloniex is good for altcoin trading. The bitcoin/usd or other fiat based trading there is very small. There are less than $50,000/day trading there.

When it comes to Bitcoin trading then the best is to stick with established and well trusted exchanges as Kraken, Bitfinex and Bitstamp. Altcoin exchanges that offer BTC/USD trading are not worth the effort. We have seen enough drama comming from altcoin exchanges already.

I would always suggest for localbitcoins.com for trade your bitcoin because From the recent reviews localbitcoins have some good reviews from the users and Like escrow we using in campaigns They have escrow system for safe us as well as traders who are in that too.

Recently i have seen that also yobit has a feature to load usd amounts.
So maybe you should give it a look or a try and check if it worth using this exchange.
Anywhere you go check the volume of trades every 24h to see how much does it change more volume more chances to earn.

BTC/Altcoins = Shapeshift.io / Poloniex.com
BTC/USD =
  • Bitfinex
  • Coinbase
  • BTC-e
  • Bitstamp

I do not recommend use Cryptsy, there are some problems with withdrawals ...  I lost here ~10 mBTC
