Exacty, Tom & Jerry is the best and all time favorites.
Batman: The Animated Series, it was by far the best cartoon I've ever watched, the writing was great and the art for the show was pretty cool too, I really liked how they tried to make everything look like it came out of the 50's, from the police cars to batman's computer. It also was great because they really stepped up the violence, it was the only cartoon I ever saw someone get shot with an actual gun in
Original Looney Toons and original Tom & Jerry. Love the cartoon violence and semi-adult humor.
The violence never did affect me negatively, but I did jump off of the roof with an umbrella as a kid, as well as pouring Dr Pepper in my ear, so it would come out the other one.

Dexter's Laboratory! Haha. Phineas and Ferb is actually cute, I used to watch this with my niece and nephews. But anime - now we have to have a separate post for this.
