The new CPU based Memorycoin (2.0) seems pretty solid. I prefer coins that are GPU/ASIC resistant and hopefully "Botnet" resistant too, at least you have a chance to mine some then. Other than that, Quarks have had a decent start and is worth looking into trading wise to earn a bit of cash, it's probably one of the more matured crypto's out there right now.

Joke or not, people are selling 100,000 and getting takers at $75 and above (I even saw one at $89) on eBay

Dogecoin looks good since difficulty not so high now (but already x2 from yesterday evening!), but dont forget it was created as joke Smiley Anyway, I had mined about 1k on 6470M in about 2-3 hours, not so bad for notebook card.

One and only, Bitcoin. The likelihood of any other coin succeeding is almost zero in my opinion

Flame shield on, but there is no best coin. All coins present some pros and cons but are extremely similar in their features/structure/development. They all share the biggest flaws which deter real investors from even being intrested. I would rather talk about the most profitable coin. If you mined Doge when it came out (easily 10M/day solo) you could have made lots of money. So, which coin do you think will spike up next? Applecoin,..?

And check out Lottocoin, pretty sure it will go up real fast.

I believe the next best "alt-coin" might be the primecoin because it has a much lower green impact.

Primecoin doesn't have a coin cap, so it will mine forever.  That doesn't sound good for an investment.

Elacoin. So Underpriced... It's practically the only cryptocurrency which hasn't surged since mid-November...

Dogecoin may have huge popularity for reasons I don't understand but it'll never be worth much and that's for sure.

Grandcoin seems to be the only coin where it wasn't premined, has a plan for inflation, and is still super fucking cheap.

Put your money in bitcoin until you figure out what you want to invest in. That's something everyone not invested in altcoins can agree with  Smiley
No point in really telling you what to put your money in... I mean, ideally you'd put it in something I'm invested in and increase the value of my investments but... that's not exactly impartial now is it?

I'm all for Dogecoin too. I have about 50,000 right now and I'm still mining. That being said, the difficulty has been rising really fast. It's literally twice what it was yesterday. I'm considering trading half of it into Litecoin (probably 25,000 for 0.165 Litecoin if people are interested) but I think it is still way too early to trade. I could see the value rising fast with the difficulty.
