How do give you suggestion ? Look at Coinmarketcap , they have more than 1000 coins , market correction already happen 1 month , just choose top 200 coins, then pick some coins and do research , but I'm a long term holder because I'm sure that I'll get more profit in the future
This is not possible to say who's coin is best for short time investment but i can suggest you to eye on marketcap. When coin price dump this time you should buy and when its pump you should sell

Altcoins are good for long term investment that is if you are looking for a better profit since altcoins don't fluctuates deeper the way bitcoin does. If you want short term investment you can go to ICO projects and invest some they are really promising now with high return on investment just be wise in choosing which project you would like to invest with since many ICO are present now in the market.
For the short term altcoin, I would say Elixir because they will soon have the mobile application (Q2 2018) to test the loan service with fake tokens. I think the price of Elixir is dipped now so it's a good buy because the risk / reward is great

Investment usually takes a long time and if only a few weeks it is better to trade or you buy bitcoin instead of altcoin. keep in mind long-term or short-term investments even all risk trading if not master it.

For me the best coins for short term investment are WAVES and FUEL.
Due to these two coins are so fluctuative and their trading volume is huge and the movement is so rapidly.

I don't care much about short term investment, but in the present situation I think that Ethereum will recover faster than anyone else and this is making it good short term investment option.
