Honestly, I'd check out whattomine.com and then from there do research on which ones offer the best CPU mining algorithms unless you have a nice GPU also, which that website is good for too.
It's not easy, but look up the hashrate for your CPU and GPU. Best of luck!

I think, the easiest way - using nicehash. I have got 1060 3 gb / i5-6400, it produces 2-2.5 usd/day. Also, i'm not mine 24/7, i use computer for other tasks. That's my small experiment in mining, maybe i'll construct a rig in the future.

The only option for mining at low capacities is to monitor all new coins and try to start the mine one of the first. When the community assess (or not) the project and attract more people to the mining, the complexity will increase and your capacity will not be enough, but you will have the first profit.

It seems to me that the mining of the Ethash or Equihash algos coins can still bring profit. My friend does this without any special equipment for mining. This brings him a good profit.
BiblePay (BBP) is a CPU Mining only coin, still a fairly new project only 4-5 months old, 10% of mined coins go to charity
it isnt profitable for cpu mining .. so you must use gpu or asic.. if you really want to earn.
