I miss the good-old days of mining cryptocurrencies with CPUs. Most (if not all) of the projects that I know of are either completely dead or are no longer being traded on the market. Coins like Ultracoin and Hodlcoin are history these days. It's too bad since mining with CPUs greatly improves the decentralization of the Blockchain. Remember Satoshi saying something about "One CPU, one vote"? If you know of a good CPU-mineable coin that's still alive and can be traded for BTC, please let me know. I'd appreciate anyone's suggestions and/or recommendations on this. Thanks. Smiley

I would say if you have cheap electricity or you are entitled to use your work PC/s for whatever purpose you need them just like I am I think for the long run Raptoreum is the best bet because it is extremely cheap,it is not yet in exchanges or better is not yet in binance and the team behind it has very clear goals, they want to solve something with it.I just made near 1000 coins in just two months with my PC-s,one core i5 8500 and one Xeon 5640 that I am entitled to use as I see fit from my work place.

Alive coin for me is only Monero but it is very difficult to make it profitable with old processors like the ones I mine Raptoreum, you need a powerhouse to become profitable with this.If you are in for the long run just help the network of Raptoreum and most probably in the future I am hopeful to see a price increase like that of Monero for Raptoreum which would make many of us millionaires out of thin air  Grin.

I am hearing a lot about yada coin on YouTube this days, I thought its a new gpu coin which was what prompted me to check the video out, it's very profitable they say I think you should do your own research on the CPU mining coin, I have no interest since all my CPUs are weak and old.

So people still use CPU to mine cryptocurrencies? I heard they are more costly than buying GPU for mining, why would anyone use CPU when coins out there wants the high end CPU to make reasonable profit per month..I'd rather spend the money on GPU.
Some gaming PC comes with ryzen CPUs which are perfect for mining Monero or raptoreum, you can mine with CPU and GPU at the same time even if the monthly earning from the CPU is just 80$ it's something.

Monero isn't the most profitable coin to mine with your CPU try using calculator for raptoreum to compare daily earnings with Monero you will see what I'm talking about, raptoreum beats xmr mining.

I've never heard about Raptoreum, but I will have a deep look at it. If it's truly ASIC resistant, the results with CPU mining should be impressive. Thanks for sharing! Cheesy

dont forget about verus coin.  a cpu coin

Thanks for the tip. I haven't heard much about that coin, but I'm going to give it a try. I hope it remains a CPU-only coin in other to bring fairness and equality to the system. I have some old PCs I'm willing to use as experimental machines for CPU-mining, so this coin would be the perfect "test subject". Wink

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Top RTX 3090 can do only 2 kh/s on Monero while Ryzen 5 3600 can do 7.5 kh/s.

Well, Ryzen CPUs have an integrated graphics controller (APU if I'm not mistaken). The same can be said about modern Intel CPUs these days. But go a few years back, and you'll find yourself with old CPUs without such capabilities. The results you've given to me are quite impressive, though.

Now the real question is whenever XMR is the most profitable coin to mine with CPUs or should I look elsewhere? Huh

Monero is still a CPU only coin till date the problem is that algorithm, few years back even a GPU can mine Monero thanks to cryptonight algorithm but ASIC came into the system and XMR Dev don't like that, randomx favours CPUs more than GPU, today the most profitable CPU coin is raptoreum.

The problem with Monero is that it's not a CPU-only coin. There are many GPUs on the network, which makes it almost impossible to mine XMR with average CPUs.

in my opinion the best altcoin to mine with cpu remains monero even if with the current cost of energy if you do not have solar panels you mine at a loss

The problem with Monero is that it's not a CPU-only coin. There are many GPUs on the network, which makes it almost impossible to mine XMR with average CPUs. I'd prefer a CPU-only coin since it's much easier to mine on low-energy devices like the Raspberry Pi and smartphones. Considering that most cryptocurrencies are PoS, I guess that I'm out of luck. Developers who want their coin to be mined only by CPUs must constantly change the PoW algorithm to keep out ASICs (and GPUs) for good. Otherwise, ASICs and GPUs will continue to dominate the market leaving the "little guy" out of the system.

That said, I'm still on the hunt for the best and most profitable CPU-mineable coin for 2022. If anyone knows about such a coin, please let me know.  I'd appreciate your help with this. Thanks! Smiley

Mining monero with CPU is stupid because it's no more profitable like before unless you have many high-end CPUs with endless free electricity power in your country it's not worth it.

I think Raptoreum is still profitable for people with cheap electricity. I don't use my CPU's anymore as im going to €0,42 a kw in the coming period.
