the 1070 can do 30MH at 80w, but you need a version of msi afterburner that let you decease the power limit under 50%

hell probably even 70w, since no one have tried it i guess it may work, with -500 core

MH/USD - prices in eur
R9 280x - 130, 18MH, 190W, used
R9 290 - 170, 28.5MH, 270W, used
R9 390 - 240, 30MH, 250W, new
RX 470 - 280, 25.5MH, 125W new
RX 480 - 310, 26MH, 135W new
GTX 1070 - 480, 28MH, 90W, new

more accurate one Smiley, not considering bios modding but a tiny msi afterbuner with PL custom settings. With bios modding every vga can be tweaked, more or less.

MH/USD? r9 290
MH/W? GTX 1070

interesting

So the GTX 1070 is the best for the long term mining. It is good for other altcoin mining as well. So  might buy the 1070.

where can i find gtx 1070 / amd 280X / amd 380X / amd 480X comparison table with

MHSH - Power consumption

to do a comparison?

here is a price comparison for EU users

600euro --> gtx 1070
100/150 euro used --> amd 280X
200 euro used --> amd 380X
amd 480X --> 300eur

no one has built a chart.

Here is a quick guide

Noflashing bios just stock bios.

All 8gb cards below

R9 390. Can do 32mh at 250 watts
Rx 480 can do 27mh at 150 watts
Rx 470 can do 25 mh at 140 watts

Those are pushing with. overclock and under volt.

My R9 390 can do 27.5 at 160 from the wall.
My R9 nano can do 26.2 at 110W from the wall.

But they are too expensive.

R9 280X is an exception, it DOES mine noticeably more hashrate than the R9 280.
Ditto the R9 380X vs R9 380

RX 4xx series doesn't have any "x versions" yet, as such.

X versions are not really for mining, it costs more but does not provide much more MH/S though

if you have lots of cheap  power the r9 390  like this one is good

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/xfx-amd-radeon-r9-390-8gb-gddr5-pci-express-3-0-graphics-card-black-gray/8278117.p?id=1219690434699&skuId=8278117

it will do 30mh at 225- 250 watts  but it is cheap  only 250 usd

so if your power is under 8 cents get it

Or go with the R9 290.  It's cheaper and hashes at the same speed as the 390.

Catalyst 15.12 is better for mining on for the R9 series cards and older.

 15.7 will work though.

On Win7/64 I get slightly better hashrate from 15.7.1 vs 15.12.  15.11 was total crap.

Although the 470/480 are promising, drivers are in a state of churn, and as already stated by others they are sold out almost everywhere.
I'd recommend the R9 380.  You can now find them for as lows as US$150(new, open box), and most will get around 21Mhs clocked at 820/1500, drawing around 7J/Mh.  6J/Mh is possible for cards that can take a 50-75mV undervolt in addition to the 820Mhz underclock.
They work fine with the fglrx drivers under Linux, while if you're into Windoze, I'd go with Catalyst 15.7.1.

Hello,
What is The best GPU to buy for Ethereum mining for hashrate power draw rate today ?
Thx

It depends on GPU prices in your country. It seems like there's a shortage of AMD cards outside of the US, which leads to increased prices, while Nvidia has MSRP for many countries and the prices are close to it.

So, if GTX 1070 has better hashrate/$ in your country, you should consider this card over AMD cards.

The 1070 is more than the double of the price of 470. So it seems most of us have to use the 470 instead f 1070.

it depend on how much you can invest and your consumption, but the best is hand down the 1070 at around 30MH 90w(i suspect can be tweaked to do 30MH at 80w, i need to test it, i just i don't care now, because etheruem is not a priority...), no other gpu can match this efficiency at the moment

otherwise just go with 470/480 from amd, other option are trash to be honest
