Preposters already gave interesting advices for choosing technical indicators, so I needn't repeat that once more. Additional I suggest you to devide your funds for day trading and longterm trades. Put 90% into longterm trade with deep research. Only put maximum of 10% into day trading with following advantages.
1. Little funds on day trading prevent you from panic sells and give you more freedom in trading.
2. You can make also with very little amounts big profits, when you get it managed to profit 2-7% a day, you can earn theoritcally with an initial investment of only 10$: 353,21$ - 1.945.718,39 $. So the advantage is clear. Independent from your skills you will only loose a little amount with the perspective to gain big profits.
3. You can try out all the recommended indicators and strategies.
4. The most important: There is no indicator, that will show you the future of price movements on day trading with an accuracy of much more than 50%. Interesting in that context is the study by caas business school, City University, London, about monkeys predicting bulls and bears: https://www.cass.city.ac.uk/news-and-events/news/2013/april/monkeys-beat-market-cap-indices
Researching news will not help you, because as soon as you read news about events, you are too late. Only illegal trading with insider knowledge braught securely big money (Search on google the keywords coinbase - insider - bch)

Longterm trades: When you invest into well established cryptocurrencies and ICOs with serious backgrounds (established companies/services) and hold them on longterm (don't put your whole money into cryptocurrencies), then you will probably gain big profits, because you have the advantage, that prices of cryptocurrencies don't follow prices of traditional markets. We are just at the beginning of a new technology, that has big headwind of governments and banks, who want to keep control over the financial sector, but it is not stoppable (like internet wasn't) and will for my opinion continue to grow, although there are  drops from time to time.

I use MACD and RSI.

The below is taken from this reddit post.

MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)

MACD, picture here, is a great indicator to tell if a trend is starting, normally way before the MA or EMA will tell you one is. This allows you to get that extra jump you need to ride the trend longer. But be wary, just because it's moving doesn't mean the price is.

A MACD indicator has three important indicators rolled into one. There are two moving averages, a slow and a fast one, also there is a histogram. The histogram shows the difference between the two moving averages. The farther apart the moving averages are the bigger the histogram is. When the histogram is trending down this is a good indication that the price will also begin trending down. Although, it could also work the other way. When the Histogram is trending up it is a good indication that the price will also trend up. But not always, so pay attention. A word to the wise, when the two moving averages on the MACD cross, the histogram will always be at zero (or in the center of the line).

RSI (Relative Strength Index)

The RSI, picture here, identifier that can tell you if the market is oversold or overbought. The RSI reads on a scale from 0 to 100. If the line is below 30, you can easily assume that too many people sold and the price will start to come up. If the line is above 70, too many people bought and the price will surely come down. The big question is how much, that is something that this indicator cannot tell you. But it can definitely help you see if a trend is on the way. If the RSI line is showing below center (50) for a while it is very probable the price will start trending up.

I am doing trading with altcoin from last six months but not able to make good profit.
Can any anyone please tell me the best indicators for altcoin trading for both short term and long term trading?

I'd recommend you check out TheChartGuys on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnqZ2hx679DqRi6khRUNw2g/videos): his videos cover several markets (Cryptocurrencies: BTC + ETH + LTC + one or another Altcoin; Gold; Oil; Weed; etc.); uploads daily, and goes over the trades he made since the last video on the subject; and often has real-time trading videos. I'm not much of a trader myself, but I've learned a lot from him - if you're still (relatively) new to the space, his videos are definitely worth watching.

As for indicators, from what I've seen so far, he mostly goes for very simple stuff: price levels, volume, RSI and, much like BrewMaster suggested above, keeps an eye on what Bitcoin is doing at the time, regardless of what specific coin he is trading.

[...]

How can you make good profits now when everything is in red.
There is nowhere to go and even Ethereum was down now for $100 dollars even though it is still at high value if you look at it per week.

It is like everyone is dumping all the coins and tokens and nowhere to be found. Even bitcoin is down and if they have sold it for BTC then we should be seeing it now.

Question is where the hell are all those money going?

To fiat. Tongue

But, even in these circumstances, there are still ways to profit when trading: for example, with oversold bounces (the guy from the channel I posted above does this often, apparently quite successfully).

Just follow the team where you have invested your money and the price rise depends upon when they are going to release the contents according to their date line and if the team is ready to launch the product the price will rise, make sure you monitor the team to get to know those details and make a good profit.
This should be done when you are just on the state where you are choosing a right project which you would check the team aggressiveness and dedication towards on enhancing or developing their project in the very first place might not be a guarantee but somehow a good indication that the team is active towards it which is far more better than haven't seeing some indications.

one of them can be bitcoin price!

look at bitcoin and follow it. when it is dropping you must pull out of altcoins immediately because they will get dumped on you unless you have invested in an exception at that time (like DigixDao right now!).

other than that you need to analyze the charts and the market (news) to see if there are any signs of an upcoming pump for that coin. for example RaiBlocks changed its name to Nano and it got pumped. analyzing the news meant seeing this and expecting a pump and buying before it starts.

Read about the coin and make your research: learn if many people support it, check the alt's rating and only then make your choice.

If you have been trying to trade for 6 months and no good profit then maybe you should think twice about still wanting to day trade to make money. Anyway, for day trading my favourite indicators are the relative strength index (RSI) and the bollinger bands. I'm not sure if you already did that, but you need to watch videos and read alot about tech analysis to be able to perform decently in trading. Goodluck

Once you know how to use the Moving Average, RSI, Stochastic, & MACD indicator, you’ll be well on your way to executing your trading plan like a pro. You’ll also be provided with a free reinforcement tool so that you’ll know how to identify trades using these indicators every day. Indicators is not enough you need a research sometimes to update or any event of your investment crypto.

You should gain knowledge in blockchain technology then only you make profit. You are register in two days before in this forum so how you know the trading strategy.
This is risky investment in the crypto market. Many experienced traders also affect in trading platforms It is complicate to predict the future possibilities.

I suggest you to try Investing.com. It got inbuilt technical indicators which will help you predict the market. You can study coin movement at different time intervals(5min to 1 month) which will help you to take right decision at the right time and can earn good profits.

Six months is not just good enough to earn a good profit, how could you earn these days that the market price was so down.
Maybe it take another a month before you can see the rel profit on you in trading. Don't depend on day trading or just a week, much better choose a good coin and then hold for a long term at least a year.
If you noticed now the bloody market, this is the great opportunity to buy some good coins and hold for a long run. Because holding for long term is lower risk compared to short term trading.

If you are a newbie then you should not focus on both things either short or long term tradin. This would really  confuse you or stress out yourself. Its not advisable to go directly with short term trading since this is really a very a hard thing to do specially to newbies. 6 months is quiet a long journey on doing trading and you aren't still making any profits which is somehow impossible but well to believe and asking about indicators then I do usually rely on them but somehow I do make use on some like trend lines, support and resistance levels, stochastic, divergence.

Technical analysis and indicators are not suitable for crypto coin trading. Instead of technical analysis, watch the news and hype about coin. Buy the rumors sell the news. This way you can make more profit.

Indicators works on this market its just so happen that people are just relying more on a FUD, well you can actually make money on that but too risky to depend for. If you’re trading for about 6mos now and yet you didn’t earn good profit well I think you have a problem emotionally, try to understand trading more and know what you did wrong.

There are many indicators and it comes down to more of a preference and style than anything. I like to trade announcements or planned releases. Say for example an ICO occurs with a lot of success and there's a big hype but there won't be a release for 6 months. In this time the price almost always slides in the first 3-4 months before beginning to slowly climb again before the release.
