What is the punishment for sexually assaulting your 12 year-old step-daughter in Wisconsin?

A $6,000 fine and 60 days in jail.

Well.  Not for you.  This "punishment" is only appropriate for Billionaires like Curt Johnson who plead guilty to the crime last Friday.

"Wisconsin billionaire pleads guilty to sexual assault charge"

If you enjoy buggering little girls in Racine, Wisconsin and get caught, do be sure to get the same Prosecutor that Curt Johnson had, Racine County District Attorney Rich Chiapete.

Rich crashed his car while driving drunk last April.  After fleeing the scene on foot, he lied to the police who visited his house and told them he had been asleep for the last two hours.  This is a man who will cut you a deal.

Just read that this guy started having sex the girl when she was in 6th/7th grade.. Must be nice to be a billionaire and pay off the family. Anyone else would be in prison for years with a felony conviction..

He admitted he had sex with a 12 year old girl..............that's child rape.  The laws really do protect the guilty especially where rich people are concerned .Proof that rich people live in a different world from the rest of us. I am ashame with our justice!

Would you trade a new road for your local municipality for leniency toward a billionaire? Incarceration isn't the only way to achieve justice.

Unfortunately this is a global problem. The US just happens to be the public face serving as host to this parasite.

These are the excuses given:

1. The prosecutors had to seek lesser charges because they were unable to get cooperation or necessary records from the victim

2. Johnson faced up to 40 years in prison on the initial felony charges that alleged multiple incidents from 2007 to 2010, starting when the victim was 12 years old, but the victim refused to testify.

Is this correct?

I don't know of the case but if these are the facts the prosecution had no case.

And his wife didn't divorce him. Necessary records? That's what supoenas are for. A tale of two justice systems indeed! Shame on it all!

Basically according to other lawyers this man has exceptional standards in ethics. That explains a lot. http://www.martindale.com/Products_and_Services/Peer_Review_Ratings.aspx

Oh... I get it. So according to them, Eugene Gasiorkiewicz is a role model to all the other lawyers. I can understand. Pedophiles tend to support those people who protect them.

I found this under awards in his description:
-Holds Highest Rating in Legal Ability and Ethics by Martindale-Hubbell National Lawyer Ratings

They might want to revoke that award.

May be we could start an online petition urging the Martindale-Hubbell to revoke his award. Legal ability and ethics my a$$. How can anyone who gives a 60-day sentence for pedophilia be given an award in legal ability and ethics?

I think that kind of madness falls in the same line as giving Obama the nobel peace prize.

Or making Tony Blair a Middle East peace envoy.

Or making Adolf Hitler the German Ambassador to Israel.

Here is the judge who gave Curt Johnson this joke of a sentence:

http://judgepedia.org/Eugene_Gasiorkiewicz

He had defeated Georgia Herrera in the 2010 judicial elections for the Racine County Circuit Court seat.

If that is the case he should be facing multiple new felony charges and the police involved in the case should be terminated. Witness intimidation is mafia bullshit that should never be tolerated. Especially in a case like this one.

In theory, it seems good. But it can never be applied practically. Rich people can do whatever they want, as long as the law enforcement authorities are corrupt and can be bought for bribes.

That is because in most localities the wealthy are golf buddies with the prosecutor and judges etc. If you are in the right crowd you can pretty much do what you want. Unless it is an election year. Throwing the book at a rich brat is just good politics then.

Didn't the same thing happen only a few months earlier with another wealthy businessman and he got off with a slap on the wrist cause the judge deemed prison an unsuitable environment for him  Huh

I wish that girl had access to a gun so she could have effected an instant death penalty as he attempted to commit this heinous crime.

yes, I don't see anything wrong with guns
actually I saw some report earlier saying that areas with more guns in households have less crimes

isn't it logical that you would think twice about robbing an armed house?

if someone wants to rob something he'll get a gun either way but if someone wants to defend his home we won't go trough the hassle

What proponents of gun control often forget and seem to have no problem with is that it's always armed people that keep them 'safe' the only difference between them and the gun nuts they hate so much is that they want gun users to wear a uniform.

The victim in the case had moved to North Carolina, said she wished the case would be dismissed, and fought legal efforts to make her come to Wisconsin to testify.

Initially she was willing to testify, but the billionaire continuously harassed her and threatened her of unwanted consequences if she did so. The cops were also not giving any protection to the victim.

Don't hold your breath.  Did you miss the part about him being from a rich family?  This reminds me of the Mellon guy who was excused from jail (for murder IIRC) because the judge figured that he would not be able to handle prison well.  Something like that IIRC.

I spent some of my childhood in an environment of wealth.  I think that to some extent a lot of rich kids have everything so they tend to push the envelope to find something they don't have.  This induces them to do extra weird shit and sometimes with tragic results.  Like the Kennedy kids who killed the neighbor girl.  Dangerous weirdos, and a lot of times the pathology continues to get more bizarre or crops up later in life though for much the same set of reasons.  Like the old wealthy powerful dudes dressing up like women and dancing around in the woods at Bohemian Grove.
