i would advice you to never buy that much bitcoins at once, better spread your buying, not because of price but in case of scam, it is better to lose 10 bitcoins than 100
Buying in big quantity or small is not the case because there are some scammers out that are will to scam you even of one satoshi. The best and safe exchanger I would recommend to use in buying big amount of bitcoin is coinbase. Coinbase is a well reputed exchange platform, to me it is the number one in the entire world and I see no reason that coinbase will scam you of your money. There has never been any complain about them so far.

Coinbase is one of the best platform to buy bitcoins for sure as they are most reputable and trusted exchange which are operating since long time and we haven't heard any bad news related to it so far but the country I live I would prefer to buy from LBC as it is also very reputed site for trades.

I agree with you coinbase is one of the good exchangers to buy bitcoins but I am very doubtful to them because of an incident that a coinbase user is not able to open his account and after claiming and asking help from the support he finally turns to see that someone really hacked his account because it sent bitcoin to other address.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1651233.20

You should definitely check poloniex but might I suggest that you try to meet up someone that sells his btc. I think you're getting a lot of discount and some freebies if you buy from an actual person. If you buy from an exchange site, you'll get exactly how much you paid for. They don't care how much did you buy but if it's an actual person, he'll give you some more extra bitcoins.

Hi Guys,

I was wondering about the safest way to buy more than 100BTC? I would really appreciate your feedback guys
Many exchanger now that you can buy bitcoin like bittrex, poloniex, ccex  that is the best exchanger that you can buy 100 btc in safest way. You can choose one of them to see what is the price of bitcoin in that exchanger. But its up to you where to buy for you to experience how to trade your money into bitcoin.

Yeah that is the best thing he can do for now and he should split his funds to buy on different big exchanger so he can get the 100btc that he want, and if he doesn't know how to do it well he needs to seek proper advice from people who knows more how to do it since they can guide you the steps upon buying the coins,

But also i think OP should not buy by bulk since he can get compromise if he bought such huge at one time buying.

I don't know is it better to buy them at once and on one place, did you think about more places with same amounts?
You can buy some on exchangers, you have a lot of exchange sites now, you can buy some on local bitcoins, also ATM's if there is one close to you, and last you can try here on forum to make something, I saw people are selling and buying bitcoins in currency exchange section.
Yes, diversifying will work here too. Showing ourselves having huge amount of money is always risky as per my country regulations as it will attract tax enquiry. So, going with multiple way of buying bitcoin must be right idea and I will be choosing dealing with local sellers and buying in different exchanges with the different methods.

I would still stay away from buying Bitcoins at these auctions. If you buy from them, you will most certainly get jotted down in the end. And whom do you think they will check first if Bitcoin gets involved in some criminal activity (for example, drug trafficking)? Yeah, you may get a cheaper price buying these bitcoins (honestly, I don't know how much cheaper, if ever), but...

A mousetrap never runs after a mouse

these coins are sold in a one single batch. or at least this is what i have seen happen so far. and the coins are not 100-200 but at least 10 times these amounts so it needs a lot more money and people who have that kind of money know very well what to do with it and how to do it to be also safe (they are very well connected) we don't need to worry about them Cheesy

Indeed, we are small fish, but I still wouldn't take it for granted that big fish are somehow wiser, safer, and overall better connected than us (or connected at all). We implicitly assume that people with bigger guns are stronger than with smaller ones while, in fact, both small and big guns would be pretty much equally lethal if you got pierced. Ross Ulbricht was without doubt a big fish (even a great white shark of sorts), but did it help him much?

Though I agree we don't need to worry much about them

If they are veterans on bitcoin and stake huge amount again and again well i think theirs nothing to worry with them, but how about those newly stakers who have limited knowledge about bitcoin and want to buy it for business purposes? I think those one are prone for bad incident if they make some bad decision for buying bitcoins at wrong site thats why its better to guide them if we know who they are so their money will became safe, this discussion is really helping for those newly ones who's have plan on buying such huge amount of btc.

Buy it from the FBI auction. They seized lots from silk road and other illegal operations. Surely cannot be safer than buying it from the FBI.  Smiley

I thought they had already sold out all those Silk Road bitcoins. If not, that can only mean one thing, i.e. they are selling the same bitcoins twice, thrice, and many more times. "If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him"...

So it remains widely open how safe (and wise) it is to buy from FBI

http://fortune.com/2016/08/08/government-seized-bitcoin-auction/

Yeah sorry - the post was party tongue in cheek. I should have looked it up to get my facts straight - the auction I was referring to already took place in August.

But no doubt new ones will come up - in different countries. Australian Authorities have done the same thing.

There are lots of ways to get bitcoins but do you sure want more than over 100 bitcoins i dont think that is available becuase 100 times 600 is allot of money dont know if lots of people have that much,.

Its very risky to buy those huge amount on some certain sites since anybody can be compromised if they buy bulk of huge volume of btc and i realy think for that is buy at different legit sites or exchanger who's offering that service so many will be splitted and surely he can get the amount he desired buy, and this splitting upon buying is the safest way he can do so he can make sure that he's safe and sound.

Oh yes it depends upon the country you live.I am from india and for buying that much bitcoin best exchange is btcxindia here. But i would recommend even if you want to buy that much bitcoins, buy it slowly one by one like 10 btc at a time to be more safe.
I think he should start buying with even lesser than 10BTC.. If I need to buy 100bitcoin I would buy 1BTC at a time. it cast some more fees but if someone can afford to buy 100BTC he can afford to pay some extra satoshi for transaction fee also.

I prefer BTC-e. BTC-e accepts payments from all countries. there are several other exchange as Coinbase, but Coinbase implementing regulations on other countries not to be able to join.
OP didn't specify his question properly.. he didn't mentioned where he's from and what will be his payment method.
there is lots of ways to pay for bitcoins. without knowing this no one can suggest him a valid Idea.

Hi Guys,

Any big exchange really, as long as you're ok with all the AML/KYC. There's Coinbase, who will probably ask you for urine samples. Bitfinex, Kraken and Bitstamp.

I would strongly advise everyone to stay away from Bitfinex. Even if we turn a blind eye to the recent hack (despite the fact that "it takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it"), it is not given that you won't be left holding the bag for those who lost their money there, since that seems to be what Bitfinex is now trying to accomplish with their BFX tokens. And I also personally recommend you to remove your referral code from the Bitfinex link you posted lest you should get banned (I don't care but someone will eventually report this, if not already)...

Just in case, the referral code has been removed from the link in the quote
Good advice though but as trader we know better for us, you advise should be considered and whatever their decision they know already the risk as they are being warn, normally the trend will say and the history will repeat itself, when a site recovers from hack the next thing will happen it will be gone.
