I have been away for awhile and was wondering where the best place to sell some bitcoin would be?

Was selling some on coinbase but now they want a copy of my ID and I don't feel comfortable with that.

Is CEX.IO a good place to sell?

Thanks
If you want to sell your bitcoins without facing any problems then you can use bittrex, binance exchange.
I already using both of them and I feel really good.

I will coose Binance, no needed YOur Id but if you want increase your withdraw you must verification your identity.
OP is very likely referring to actual fiat withdrawals, which the main Binance exchange doesn't offer. Binance Jersey however does offer actual fiat withdrawals in form of EUR or GBP, but that obviously requires you to verify yourself.

As for OP not feeling comfortable with Coinbase knowing all your personal information, which is perfectly understandable, but they are one of the most regulated entities within the world of crypto.

If I had to choose an exchange to verify myself at, then it would definitely be Coinbase. It hasn't ever been hacked and they take security serious, which can't be said about most of the other exchanges being too nonchalant.

you are very lucky to be able to buy and sell on coinbase and you should be happy to use coinbase. doing KYC on the coinbase should not be a big problem for you and I recommend that you do KYC on the coinbase. Many exchanges are exchanges that do not render good services and have anonymous owners and will hold your coins if they do not make KYC. Do you prefer to use shady exchanges and run the risk of losing money just because you do not want to make KYC on the coinbase?

Is CEX.IO a good place to sell?

they have many problems:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search2

and it has a much more rigorous KYC, at least that's what I realized when I wanted to do KYC in CEX.IO

Bro, this KYC thing is not a big deal if you want a smooth flow of transaction, I do not want you to be dodging KYC and end up falling into the hands of a scammer, coin base is a reputable company, it is just part of the policy that virtually many exchanges have introduced now.

I have been using the exchanges I use to change my BTC for a very long time now and I did my KYC with them, up until now, I have not had any issue, provided they are not asking for your bank codes, I don’t think they pose any risk, provided we can verify that they are solid exchanges well know, despite all this KYC challenges we are all mentioning, their user base is still growing.

Listen dude, I understand that you have a small amount of Bitcoins.
But before proceeding to sell it, i would like to ask you few things.
What currency you want for it in return ?
If you want something handy, then i would suggest you to check out localbitcoins.com
They are the best and most trusted in my opinion.
Hope this helps.  Grin Grin

AFAIK, it's a place for renting miner in digital way.
You should find local exchange just like I did that I've use it over 5 years without any problem ( even got hacked )
Or Binance may the another fit solution for you !

Well, it depends on your country, if you want to sell just a little amount of Bitcoin I think it's much better to find someone that you can meet within your nearby location, if don't have then you have no choice to undergo to KYC on some exchanges that required for every user that can buy/sell Bitcoins. For me, just select those exchange that has good reputation and the volume is quite huge.

Cex.io is exchange I have used for a long time, and I can recommend. Even recently, it has begun to develop further. Just the succession increase in fee was not pleasant, but still better than others.

Dont go with cex.io exchange as their are lot of scam accusation against this exchange, best way is go to localbitcoins.com site and sell directly to the users in your local currency and their escrow system is best which will guard your transaction best.

I agree with you as this exchange is not more good like before and their are lot of withdrawal problems reported in this forum against them. Localbitcoin exchange is good to use as they have good escrow system through which you can trade safely.

I think you cn pass your ID to the coinbase wallet because we know Coinbase is one of the good wallet and they are here in crypto more than 5 years now I think correct me if Im wrong. You can choose what exchanges site that you can sell your bitcoin. You can try to as your friend too what best exchanges that they used and you can choose it if you want to sell your bitcoin.
Coinbase can provide all your details if they want from them so it is better to register on localbitcoin to sell his bitcoin for cash. But the best option is just find a reputed person on this forum to sell his bitcoin which is the anonymous way when we don't want to provide any of our details.

There are many platforms to sell a little amount of bitcoin. Now there are lots of places on the internet to sell Bitcoin. You can find many websites when you search Google. There you can sell your Bitcoin. But I would say all websites are not trusted. Many websites can scam with you. So I would like to verify that website before selling Bitcoin. Because after selling Bitcoin many times they no longer pay the price. So it is very good to be verified. You can sell your Bitcoin on the LocalBitcoin website. It's a great website.

Thank you.

You should try selling your bitcoins to bittrex. You can direct your funds to your bank account after you sell it. And the fee of transaction to your account will not hurt you since bittrex has a nice volume of coins. So selling could be of a higher price.
Bittrex was definitely a good exchange earlier but it has turned out to be less visited site these days. I had myself started trading with bittrex but since the implementation of KYC took place I have shifted to Binance.
I have read posts where people's funds were frozen by bittrex due to non-compliance of KYC by the users. Its like, I can't even use my funds if I don't reveal my identity. Why would anyone want that?
Binance is far better than bittrex in every case which is why OP should try binance before any other 'exchange'.
Bitcointalk marketplace is also a good option but just be sure that the dealer is not a scammer. Go for reputed members rather than less known members.

Is there a reputable exchange out there that does not require you to send a copy of your ID? As much as we want to stay away from those kind of sites that requires us to send a copy of our ID's I guess we have to embrace the fact that they are going to that direction because they need to be complaint to government rules or suffer the consequence of being shut down.

There are lots of exchanges that you can use to sell your bitcoin and most of them do not require KYC verification if what you are selling is a small value because usually they ask for your data when you will make a withdrawal with a large value.

But he is not comfortable with KYC while Bittrex requires users to provide KYC during registration if I remember it correctly.

I don't know why everybody don't want KYC. Okay, cryptocurrency promotes being anonymous online. But, doing KYC is not a problem IMO. Since bittrex has a nice service. Although there were some accusation threads in this forum about them but I'm using bittrex and so far I have no issue regarding on what service they bring.

I do not think there is other reason except anonymity. Those who do not want to do KYC want to be anonymous especially if they are dealing with small amount of money only. It is reasonable enough imho, so we cant blame them who do not want to deal with KYC.
