Which wallet is the best and why?

It depends on your needs.
IMO, the safest wallet is an offline Armory wallet and the most user-friendly client is Electrum.

Which wallet is the best and why?

I like MultiBit for regular casual use. For longterm storage I recommend a paper wallet that's been created on an offline computer that's never connected to the internet again. Or maybe Electrum or Bitcoin Armory. Those are the best options, as far as I can tell!

There's no best wallet, it depends on what you want to do with it.
If with best you mean safe, then go for bitcoin core or armory, I prefer the first but both are the top.

bitcoin-qt if you can afford.

Most control of your coins, and you help the bitcoin network.

If not, just go multibit.

Multibit for the daily transactions, for a cold wallet it would be bitcoin core or a paper wallet generated.. we have too some online wallets like blockchain but they are in last place.
