If you can convert to binance coin (BNB) or any smart chain currencies their have the lowest fees, but the last time I used kucoin exchange I convert my funds to USDT which has low fees. I will advise you to check where you are sending the fund to know which currency fees favor you.

Tether seems to have a transfer fee of $20-$100,

This apply only to ERC-20 USDT. Majority of exchanges (including kucoin that is being used by OP) support multi-chain withdrawals and deposits in USDT. Means that you can use TRC-20 USDT to move founds from exchange to exchange paing only 0-1$ fee.

@OP I would transfer funds to binance and use their P2P service for USDT/USD trade and than USD withdrawal (you will need KYC), or trade USDT to BUSD and withdraw USD using BUSD (Binance support USD withdrawals using BUSD balance)

Hey guys,

I have only been using Kucoin for a few months now and I wanted to know what the best method to cash out my crypto to USD would be? Should I trade it all to Tether then transfer to a USD exchange like Bittrex or something else?

Any help is appreciated.
uhm i think trading to usd exchange will be a good choice in my opinion.. Because on this situation you need to pay a fee wherein so high especially if you will choose to trade through tether token "erc20" and then if you'll transfer it again to your main wallet.  seems you'll pay 2x for a fee everytime you will make a transact..  So i suggest you should choose where you can avail a low fee when it comes trading a different coin.. Try to make a comparison on your options so that you'll know which is better to use..

actually it is easiest to convert to USDT and then convert to USD. but it requires a fee, or maybe you have another option by selling to friends or anyone who is willing to become a converr service is easier

P2P is the fast and cheap way of transferring your cryptos into fiat, I would advice you to convert all of them into BTC than any other coin because BTC trading volume of Peer to peer platforms are lot higher than altcoins.

If you are converting cryptos worth more than $1000 especially if you are from US then I won't recommend using p2p, either use Coinbase pro or Binance exchanges.

Binance P2P is the best if submitting KYC is not your problem. They are the safest CEX to use for withdrawing fiat to bank since its P2P. But some country has some specific app that offering hassle free services for fiat withdrawal. Try to search or ask on your local board.

I think Binance will be the perfect gauge aside from supporting lots of banks and usd related finance institution you can always find resort on the options.

Like what GreatArkansas mentioned the p2p system there is totally convenient. I scanned the list of banks and I'm sure you can find one that supported USD. Like wise depends on your location.

I think you should also consider which country you are from, there are some countries that are strict, especially when you want to use your bank from your country.

Besides what  mk4 suggested, there are some exchanges that now offer P2P trade, like Binance. I am using Binance to cash out some of my tradings profits in USD, like if my USD (USDT/USDC) is coming from other exchanges, like FTX Exchange, I am withdrawing it and transfer to Binance, from Binance, I do P2P trading and sell my USDT to our currency (PHP), bank transfer/some e-wallets.

If you don't mind submitting AML/KYC, then that might be the right move. You might as well use something like Kraken though, as their USDT/USD trading pair is pretty liquid.

On the other hand, for no-KYC, probably something like LocalCryptos[1] and HodlHodl[2].

Tether seems to have a transfer fee of $20-$100, I'd recommend litecoin or something with enough security that's accepted on other exchanges and is cheap to send (like decred).

For cashing out with a fiat exchange I'd look for comparisons on their costs and see if there are ways to reduce them (eg some sites have a "pro" version that's cheaper for handling trades and withdrawals).
