Coinbase is really good if you don't want to go through the hassle of sending your entire life history to one of the exchanges like MTGOX. The only issue is that sometimes they are swamped with orders and cut off buying when they are.
The best way to mine is by buying an ASIC miner nowadays. The only problem is the wait time since I order quite some time ago and they are still not shipping, but once I get my machine I will be so HAPPY! 
I think Mt Gox is still a good way, despite some controversy about it having so much market share. Bitstamp also works well, as does Bitinstant.

I'd watch people like this, since they mostly seem to be made up of new posters they're probably trying to get you to sign up so they can datafarm for Bitcoin addresses similar to the way everyone tries to get you to sign up to stuff with emails now.

I have 25 computers up at any given time, running automatic scripts to go through usually 5 BTC websites all at once from each computer. That means 125 websites running at once. I've been trying to expand but my router can't handle much more so I'll have to upgrade my internet before I increase the number of computers.

If you have a decent GPU then mining should get you more money than those free Bitcoin websites. Providing you're not spending more than you earn in electricity bills.
