The revolution will be monetized!
Can this also be used to purchase a sim card and data from the wireless providers? This can be really useful for someone who is traveling internationally and does not wish to pay usurious roaming fees.

Hmm, interesting thought.

Right now, itll just be airtime but maybe we can expand it into SIM cards as well.

I have a connection, Ill get in touch with him tomorrow.

Shocked  Madre de Dio !! I was planning on being a customer anyway, but this would be an H-bomb. I am old enough to remember needing an "international phone". How awesome would it be to just swap out SIM cards.

how much is "roughly"? is it a flat fee, 1%, over, under?

I suspect it will depend on the carrier.  Some are really chintzy with their reseller discounts.

why would carrier charge extra on top of what needs to fill up an account?  i can see BitcoinWireless taking a cut plus possibly processing which maybe between them and carrier - and that may indeed vary from country to country or carrier to carrier

nevermind, i see these will be refill cards so basically it's BitcoinWireless and carriers. but carrier charging extra would not make sense to me

We're not charging for this. Out of the 280 carriers, 99.99% of them will be flat fee 1:1.

I think there is like 1 carrier in Africa we have to charge a small markup, but unsure.

Democracy is the original 51% attack
Also note, the logos shown on that page do not represent all the carriers... those are just a select few I picked out for the design. Many more will be supported muahahaha

Vodafone is on the list... does that mean you can buy M-Pesa with bitcoins when this is in production? That's exciting! I can see this as a bridge to other mobile payment platforms.

Yes!

The list is huge!
