There will be cheaters and abusers but I doubt many will create a second account just to participate in the free contest. To really reach the top 3 in that competition, you just need a lot of luck and it seems too time consuming to me, to really try out different strategies all the time.
But there are multiple users from this forum that already ended in the top 50 so it is possible.

Cheaters is normal in free contest because many want to win without spending anything but its so rare that they can defeat those people who wager more in the contest, also to avoid getting stressed out your place or position on the contest you better enjoy the game and forget which position you are since you are consistent on the game plus you have a huge luck factor for sure you will be place on better spot in the ladder.

You can only earn BFG tokens on Betfury built in staking and farming feature. Most of the DeFi apps like Babybswap rewards LP stakers with there own token since it’s there contract to there partnership with Betfury, You can just easily flip Baby tokens to BFG if you really want to accumulate more BFG tokens rather than Baby tokens since Babyswap APY is more profitable rather than the built in staking on betfury. You should take advantage on the Babyswap pool since it’s limited and theAPR usually decreases as time goes by.

I also think the same as you, for me the best thing is to make the manual bet because I have control at least of what I am getting in each play, otherwise in automatic it is also very exciting, however I do not recommend it unless you have a balance something big so that in each bet you don't feel so much fear, I particularly have very bad luck when I make bets automatically.

Wow, I’m not aware with this LP staking for BFG, this huge APY surely incorporates with a huge impermeable loss since both tokens are volatile in there own way, Not actually risky if you are looking only in the passive profit since the total value of the staked pair coin is still same in fiat no matter what the price is but you will not enjoy the benefits of BFG token pump IMHO.
