Hey dean, happy Boxing Day (or whatever it is now where you're at.)

Sorry to hear about the breach but it looks like you used bCrypt so that's a plus considering how half the other breached sites this year used something like MD5 lol.

I've got one question,

Is it possible to get a password reset or get back into the account if all I remember is the username, old password and deposit address?

thanks  Smiley

Sorry to hear about the breach.  Thanks for explaining.

If I had an account with you back when you were pocket rockets casino, but never moved over to betking, was my information compromised?

Thank you!

It depends when you played.  If you didn't have a balance or investment before dec 31st 2014 then your account would not have been imported.
Feel free to pm what you think username and email  would have  been and I can check.

Thanks

Oh sorry to hear this. Its always a risk unfortunately. 18 coins is much but thank god you didn't have investments anymore. Good luck with putting site back up Dean.

Down and out of my control this time.
New server account just got disabled with no explanation!

So site is live and broken. I'm not allowed to even stop the web server.

So waiting on support.
Will update as I get it.

Sorry for even more delays.

We're back up.

You should read this for details of the security breach.
https://betking.io/help/attack

You will need to reset your passwords.

I am unable to reset the password. It says error.  I am not sure if i had updated my email or it was an anonymous account.  I have around 43 or 44 lac satoshi in it.  Please help me to gain access to my account. I also emailed to the support. Awaiting response.

Same here.
"Error
Error sending reset link. Please try again."

This is because you have multiple accounts under same email, I had that problem too. As far as I know Dean is working to fix it. You can also email him I think, that's how he sorted it out for me.

It looks like a minor loss in money and a huge gain in experience. The accident report is very professional. Keep up the good work.

Hopefully he will also find out how the attacker actually managed to do what he did. Luckily the loss wasn't any bigger than that.

Also, the site isn't hosted on Azure anymore, right? Or did I get something wrong?

Site is ready to go live again.
Just finishing up a post detailing the reason we were off.
There was a security breach so we had no option to go offline.

I understand that is an inconvenience to some but it had to be done.

Update to follow.

Thanks

The ideal thing would have been to ask people that want to withdraw to withdraw. You dont just go offline for maintenance with my btc still inside and not tell me before u do so. Why cant u guys call a spade a spade. I dont care how good or how bad he is. I just care about my money. You dont keep my money idle for  days like that.
Actually I understand your concern and worries, it is easy for people to say that hey keep calm and it is natural but when it happens with us its a big issue.

I think going offline is not a big issue but they should have informed users first and then done the same, because updates and maintenance is not something that is mandatory and that forces owner to block or freeze user's payments.

First: if you put your btc on any website, no matter the website, you should consider it as unavailable without a 7days delay. That's like basic rule, you don't know what could happen and hundreds of tansactions are blocked for different reasons so never consider money not in your wallet as available

Second: Asking people that want to withdraw to withdraw isn't really much easier cause it would mean no activity during maintenance + less activity during the few days preceding the maintenance so you know why they haven't done it. Same reason as why there is no clock in a real life casino

Third: we don't have the details of the maintenance. Might have be a very urgent one, a security problem or something like that. You'd prefer they inform the whole world about it and let hackers a few days to find it?

Fourth: It's motherfucking Christmas man! Get yourself a life if you can't even deal with a 1 day maintenance on Christmas Oo

Fifth: I don't have another point but I didn't feel life ending with 4, it's not complete unless you can divide it by 5.

Merry Christmas guys

My local casino is open on Christmas, but regardless I understand your points. My point is that given that they have what I'm assuming several hundred thousands dollars in user and investor bitcoin tied up, it would be nice to have a longer runway regarding the maintenance window and at the very least input from their support team instead of remaining mum.

I do not care about the reputation of a bitcoin casino, there's always the possibly that the casino may die. There is no reason to not acknowledge that there has been long run operations that have disappeared with sketchy circumstances. Regarding Dean and his operation, I do not think there is cause for concern so I have remain patient regarding the issue.

Regarding it being Christmas, a business is a business 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year. The economy doesn't stop because of a holiday. I work for a major eccomerce corporation. If our servers die on a holiday I do not wait until the next day, I do what I have to right away, otherwise millions of dollars of revenue would be lost. That is my job. The internet is like a Waffle House, it never closes.

Goes offline with peoples btc. Wont reply to emails. Now thats unprofessional

I guess they're literally flooded with mails.
What would be unprofessional would be to not say a word about this, but they're answering on the forum. Or letting the site without any maintenance until it crashes, that would be unprofessional.
But making a yearly maintenance on Christmas when the site is the less active is quite professional in fact ^^

Site will be back online later today.

There's about 10-15 Bitcoin in player balances. Chill out Wink

I divested and allowed people to cash out 6000 Bitcoin a few weeks ago.
How retarded do you have to be to think I'm up to something when I could have stole 6000 instead of 15 Smiley

Feel sorry for the trolls. Life's that empty they had to post here on Christmas day! Smiley

Also there will be a detailed post about why the site was offline.

Any estimate on how long from now?

And I wonder why someone wouldn't steal 6k BTC lol that's a complete futute right there. must be your morals or whatever those things are  Cool

I'd say 5-6 hours.

It's crazy to me that peoples first thought is to steal and that's coming from someone who had no money and been homeless Smiley

I mean I get it but when you want to do more in your future than just have some money it's not worth it at all.
BetKing made 7000+ in two years legit. I think in the long run I would make more legitimately than stealing would. Without the hassle of looking over my shoulder Smiley

Well either way, good luck to you. I still trust you over any other gambling site owner or basically most people here lol
