If you're looking for something new, i might as well suggest you HoneyMiner. not sure if you heard of it but maybe you'll like it. and i see that some people use it
here, so give it a try. nicehash is a great tool for learning, it's simple and it helps you to grasp the basics.
it's really important to start with elementary level when you enter e new field.
so don't give up on it too quickly.

Nicehash is a good choice for newbies, because it’s very easy to start mining cryptocurrency. But it was hacked, and there are no guarantees that this will not happen again. The best option is to diversify the risks and use various mining pools, including Nacehash. A good list is provided in the previous post.
I agree that this mining service really a good choice for newbies from this mining business, its easy to setup and you can quickly start mining
whatever coins that the service will bring to your mining devices they will pay you with converted bitcoin.

I actually completely forgot about the Nicehash hack of Dec 2017.

Had to read up and find out what happened to those funds which I still had in my account back then, and reading their blog
https://www.nicehash.com/news/sixteenth-reimbursement-of-the-repayment-program

It still seems the funds aren't paid out yet, looks like its 75% paid and should be fully paid sometime in the next 12 months. I logged into my old nicehash account and the funds are actually still there. So its nice that they are slowly paying back everybody.

As far as I can see, none of those sites are even remotely comparable to NiceHash and do not allow algorithmic machine mining of alt coins.

Honeyminer? Its a little program that you download to your computer and it mines a few satoishi's a day in the backround. NOT ALT COINS. Maybe if you run the proggie on a GPU miner you may get a few more SATOICHI'S per day but there is no choice of algorithms on this or any of the listed sites for mining anything other than BTC.

You need to do better research before you publish such nonsense.

I think you are the one that needs to do a better research before saying things that are simply not true Wink

#1 - Kryptex supports DaggerHashimoto, CryptoNight and Equihash.

#2- CudoMiner supports Dagger, CryptoNight, Ethash, X16R, Lyra2REv2 and many more.

#3 - BetterHash supports 10+ algos as well.

#4 - MinerGate supports A LOT of different coins to mine.

You're partially right about HoneyMiner though- there is no choice when it comes to algorithms. But you can earn much more than few satoshis per day- it depends on your mining hardware as with any other mining software. And, it's not mining only in background. All of the tools listed in that article can be used in background(idle mode) and in normal mode.

Plus, NiceHash supports payments only in BTC. On the other hand, most of the tools I listed support multiple ways to withdraw- BTC, ETH, XMR and many other coins. Some of them even support gift cards and similar.

Actually, none of those alternatives are mining BTC. They mine the most profitable coin for your hardware then convert it to BTC, which is the same as how the NiceHash works. Any arguments against HoneyMiner?

Here are some you may want to check
I am looking possibly to get back to mining with my GPU (possibly get a second one 1080 Ti) i remember when nicehash used to do more or less like 100$/mo, but those days are gone now Sad

So is there any better software to mind with GPY or is nicehash still the best option out there ?...

thanks,

You can take a look at some alternatives:
https://bitcoinminingsoftware2019.com/alternative-to-nicehash/

I've used NiceHash since I first started my farm a year ago and move my profits into a secure wallet once a month so if they get hacked again, I'm not out much.

Maybe it costs a bit more but its stable; I can mine Zcash and it automatically converts to BTC; I don't have to jump around from pool to pool trying to get a few more pennies of profit. And so I like that.

The alternatives you mention are not even close to what NiceHash offers and only allow for BTC mining with few other algos offered if any. HoneyMiner... seriously?

I would prefer Nicehash. It is easy to use and convenient! Nicehash is made for everyone, I mean if you are a noob in mine, then no problem, Nicehash can teach you well! I think Nicehash still the most popular right now!

Always better to find a good coin to mine intead of any automatic coin miner
If you undertand what they do, you will see it's not so smart to use these miners

There are good options like RVN, Grin and even ETH to mine with 1080ti

I agree not everything is so bad for miners who have average parameters for mining available. The main thing is inexpensive electricity. And in which pools mine is not so important.

$ 100 a month of which you speak is now practically impossible with a single card like yours, but it would take a complete rig for at least 6 1080Ti

As other users have already suggested to you, first dig your own coins and find your gem: mining requires study and commitment, more than trading!

The only way to make that much is to speculative mine and if you do that more often than not you will end up with worthless coins.  You can always get lucky though, for example ravencoin increased a lot and you could of easily paid off your cards in a few days if you mined it at the beginning when difficulty was low.

Nicehash is so popular because it is easiest to use.  They still charge high fees compared to the competition but their platform remains dominant.

Nicehash doesn't support most of the new coin algos so sometimes you have to just speculative mine yourself.

1 1080ti makes you $0.55/day right now. If your electricity is completely free it is $1. Source

I would just play games with that 1080ti and not get the second one at all. It is a waste. Don't get the second 1080ti.

If you insist on mining, use your GPU when you are not playing or using the PC and buy Bitcoin (or Litecoin, or ETH, or whatever you like) with the money you are about to spend on the second GPU.

Think about how many coin you can buy with the cost of a 1080ti and how many coins you can mine with that GPU. Investing > Mining

Much better to directly mine a coin and then hold so that you can sell the coin in the right time because if you use a 3rd party like nicehash I'm sure they get their commission of using their software unlike mining coin in your own and sell them if the price is high.

Like above said they recommend you to use awesomeminer it is not directly auto convert to bitcoin it is not the same as nicehash but awesomeminer is good for managing and monitoring miners.

So I suggest you to try awesomeminer or mine some coin directly check my list of suggested coin to mine.

ETH, Zcoin and RVN are profitable to mine these days.

Before I used it until I noticed it was hacked. It's easy to understand so its good for new miners but right now I don't recommend it just try other pools for now. Wink

nicehash is a pretty simple way for minig if you are a beginner. some time ago when I just started mining I was interested in this service but they did not like the commission and the minimum amount to withdraw back I started mining etc on another pool. And then I remember nicehash hacked and people have lost money. I would advise all the same to look for another pool

if you want to secure a network, ya use awesomeminer

thanks,

If you want a 1-click-solution, Nicehash is the way to go.

But if you want to learn/earn more, use other coins/pools. Get AwesomeMiner ( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/awesome-miner-powerful-windows-gui-to-manage-and-monitor-up-to-200000-miners-676942 ) and setup your rig. It does basically the same as the Nicehash software, but you have the full control over everything.
