Bump these scammers to the top of the page. They’ve been doing this for years, major scammers.

They have a forum rep here who used to be quite active, trying to resolve and defend their actions. They’re not as active now but seems they were online 28th October 2024 - https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/freewallet-1177176

Maybe those who are affected might get more luck via the forum scammer rep than with their BS live chat / email support.

I would be really happy if all users I mention could get their coins back. But as far as I know their support didnt help at all. All cases I mentioned remain unresolved.

Another victim story in which the client posted the full correspondence. Notice how support asks stupid questions, constantly changes requirements and does not allow you to complete verification. And of course there is no talk of “suspicious actions” - this is just an excuse to block assets.

Freewallet often claims that they block customer wallets because this is required by the regulator. Allegedly, document verification is necessary, since Freewallet is an official financial service and is forced to comply with the law. This is a lie.

This firm may be promoting financial services or products without our permission. You should avoid dealing with this firm.
Here's what the Financial Conduct Authority says about this service
Do you still believe they use "KYC blocking" just to stay legit?

Allegedly, they apply KYC/AML in accordance with legal requirements. But such a policy is usually applied only by those structures that have certain obligations related to the availability of licenses or permits.

Is Freewallet legit? The administration will answer “Yes”. But let’s ask some legal authorities, like FCA. Are they ok with FRWT?

This firm may be promoting financial services or products without our permission. You should avoid dealing with this firm.

This is a quote from the official website of the Financial Conduct Authority. I in no way blame unlicensed services for anything. There are many anonymous crypto exchanges, wallets, and exchange services. They operate without licenses. This is an additional risk for clients, but whether or not to trust such companies with their money is everyone’s personal choice. But unlicensed companies do not require KYC. This makes no sense, because they are already unregulated.

From this we can draw an obvious conclusion. Freewallet uses KYC/AML policy just as an excise to steal your coins!

I fully expect never to see my money again if any crypto services decides to run with it. That's why you shouldn't bring yourself in that situation in the first place. There's a reason to use some centralized exchanges, but there's are many better alternatives to this "freewallet".

Exactly! There are many other apps or services, that provide everything you need and dont block your account without any reason and without any options to withdraw coins.
But actually even if scammers stole your assets, there is a way to get them back, I mean in this case. We know Freewallet owners and can expect legal authorities to investigate their actions.
Thats why we urge all victims of the Freewallet scam to take action and file complaints with the authorities listed on the page freewalletreviews.org/countries-organizations.

You also won't be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if things go wrong. This means it's unlikely you'd get your money back if the firm goes out of business."

They went even further in their path of deception.
Anyone who still believes or uses them after so many years of red flags can't be helped.
I've not used the freewallet before. I must say, any wallet that does not offer full control and security to its users is a big red flag. Those seeking for suitable wallets to use should do their findings well and go for wallets that matches their preferences to avoid expensive complaints like this. Help might come when it is already too late.
We can agree with your point of view, but there is one important aspect. Many people, including myself, sometimes store certain amounts in custodial services. For example, when I was a keen crypto trader, an impressive amount of coins and tokens were stored on several crypto exchanges. But it is important to note that these services were extremely decent and reliable.
I am not going to advertise any exchange, or a specific wallet. It is important to understand that different services have different policies. It may be too strict, but in no case should it consist of deceiving clients and stealing their assets under the pretext of checks. By the way, legal exchanges are forced to apply the same KYC policies in order to comply with regulatory requirements. Now the question is, does this apply to Freewallet? Definitely not! All their claims about legality are fiction.
Take a look https://www.fca.org.uk/news/warnings/freewallet-wallet-services-limited-freewalletorg

So Freewallet is asking KYC information before you can access your "wallet" again?
In my definition, a wallet is something that gives you and only you full access to your private keys, which means you and only you have full power to do whatever you want with your funds.
If Freewallet has the power to freeze your funds, why does it call itself "wallet" and not (for instance) "bank"?

They went even further in their path of deception. Clients today are promised a “non-custodial solution,” meaning that only the client will have the private keys. But at the same time, the user agreement itself directly states that the company can block any account! Could this have anything to do with a non-custodial wallet?

We are based on our terms and conditions. To prevent third parties from gaining an unauthorized access to the users account, we may ask for additional verification.
I read that.
My point is: that means what you call a "wallet" is not a wallet!

What is his issue ! it seems that depositing money into your wallet is an issue itself ! If your service did not ask for any KYC or warn about it before depositing you simply have no right to ask for it when withdrawing . Every respected service warn their users before they apply KYC and give them a window to withdraw there money before KYC get enabled if they know they wont pass this KYC . And you are wallet not an exchange why the hell you need KYC .

You may refer to our "Terms of use".
