means their mode is a kind of keylogging / hijack. I also found this add-on this morning, but didn't use it, I don't like to do experiments and only use important add-ons from the official website. Just like Playstore, it takes several days or several reports to delete it, Google does not filter it directly.

We often encounter, especially extensions that have been installed key loggers. Hackers easily retrieve our data, especially what often happens private key and gmail / password. If you want to install extensions, please choose from the official web, and not infrequently people who are victims of data loss due to web extensions. for now be more careful on the internet, because I've heard that crime never sleeps.
Always be careful in installing not just adding extensions but all apps that are requiring permissions or access into other apps. Especially if we have tons of info of our crypto investment in our email as well in our computer or mobile. Better be careful than sorry. Install only what is needed and will be use.

I don't like using browser addons because many are back keyloggers or spyware, since these extensions are not verified like Apple play store or google play store any scammer can easily add their malicious extension on there.

I've personally had a bad experience with browsers add-ons, I remember vividly, the attack on my ethereum on Google chrome browser which made me loose a substantial amount of ethereum as a result of the compromise on my browser ethereum wallet. It feels really painful each time I remember the experience.

Before installing I usually check whether the add-ons are official or not, if not then most likely it is fake and only wants to steal data on the computer. Always be careful when installing anything on a computer so that your data is safe.

Not safe when Google doesn't screen all these extensions and addon first before approving. Is it possible that even when you download the browser addon from the website of the original developer, it still can be compromised by hacked with malicious intent?

I have long been using some chrome add ons/extensions, I have not experience anything yet. The very recent I've used was the Tronlink, was just trying but didn't disable it since I'm using to bet on some games.

Oh! I am pleased to knew the reality of that extension as one of my friend asked me about that extension that how does it work I was about to check that to tell him the details but before doing that I saw your post and am happy to be secured with the help of you. I am scared from these extension because in the past I downloaded some toolbars and that made a headache for me after that I often do not try them but for my friend I was about to try that so now I will tell her that it is the fake one.

I do not use add-ons ledger, rarely use add-ons in the browser because it will takes up a lot of computer RAM (the more add-ons the heavier the browser performance), I only install the metamask and tronlink add-ons, but thank you for giving us the warning.

Thanks for the information and i believe that problem will be from google ending because that means they are not doing the right security measures and verification before including an application to their web store.
Hope crypto users will be more careful when using the Google extension platform.

Thank you for sharing. As time goes by we should be more cautious in regards to security. The number of risks, frauds, and attacks happening as time goes by increases. That is why I don't just download, open, or access anything randomly without even checking if it is legitimate or not. I always look for feedbacks online before doing anything.

These security risks are becoming more and more prevalent theses days as the technology advances. The thing here is that your absolutely correct about beeing more careful. On android the "Google PlayStore" is a pretty secure place to download apps. So I think that by using my smart phone all  throughout the day some of my lazy downloading habits from android tend to rub off onto my PC use when using downloaded browser extensions. It's a new year and I really should be practicing my due diligence better.

Thanks for the warning. It's ridiculous how poor security on browser extensions is, even if the code is clean a silent update or remote payload can be loaded into any webpage at any given time without warning. Worse, extension sales/transfers happen all the time and that's the cause of a lot of recent attacks.

We're taking this issue very seriously and releasing the Aricoin browser extension as open source next month. You then just load the extension in via Chrome's developer options. Very easy to do and no risk of foul play - no external connections and no auto-updates. These 2 rules are very important when it comes to dealing with third party browser extensions.
