I will talk to him later (I have his phone number contact) and see whether he has control over the account (although last time I spoke to him he did). Again all Im saying is that this all seems suspicious given my previous experience with him (and many people including people like the core developer at DigiByte, Jared, can testify to that fact).

Esoteric could have potentially been hacked
If so, even more reasons to neg tag the account, if not, well the current reasons apply.

Esoteric could have potentially been hacked but from personal experience I can't imagine him scamming anybody, he's always been a good member of the community and I've personally never had problems with him. Again just my 2 cents.

Its related to everything - but that example is good, because you can see straight how this board is being made fun of and all people responsible are watching this show like kids listening in first grade to the teacher.

Just waiting for the new wave now.

This scam is hilarious and reminds me instantly of:

"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

 Cheesy Grin

The scale of scams is increasing so much and so deep into the deep core of this boards accounts, that its just a matter of time until more "heroes" turn into "villains". They are not even "individuals", whole groups now and this thread is rather proof of how easy it is to stall and steal along the way and by now all of them have surely already made enough (they wouldnt do kamikaze killing an account before turning it into profit) to just laugh at this and continue on with the next one.

Like in chess, they are protecting their kings and queens with horses and towers - that is after you managed your way through the pawns.

How much longer you think until there will be open accusations against the people (somewhere outside of bitcointalk as Im sure here they would get deleted instantly) running this board in assisting, providing the grounds and protection, enabling and closing both eyes for/on scammers?

Imagine we dont play police academy here but ask a crime investigator, based on all material, on his opinion? Make some crowdfunding for that, get one and I think you would be surprised. Already in the first step, after going through the amount of scams and accounts involved, leads will first point to the ones with the biggest power on this board and they cant hide behind some "right for privacy" (keeping their mouths shut) right. Oh yea, they can in court, but the judge will consider that in his final verdict.

Lets imagine they are all "innocent", THEN, instead of a crime investigator, make a crowdfunding for a doctor/psychiatrist - because surely the diagnosis must be "blindness" , "mentally handicapped" or some form of "autism" - because thats whats going on here is not normal. How can this be going on for such a long time and the only excuse is like "you have to be smart & use escrow" - and then when you do that - like a miracle, all scammers start using higher and higher accounts and more & more of them. And nobody noticed or did anything? Its all normal? Sure. Anyone ever calculated how many scams happened here and how much more or less the amount was in total?  I think you would end up in the newspaper with it - you are partly protected due to non-interest by public. This board is an open invitation for scammers. Perhaps you should create also ranks for them? Like "Joker" or "Two-Face"? Robert should get his own avater, dont you think? To make it even easier, scammers should leave positive/negative feedback the other way round (i think one did once ala "Can recommend this guy, really easy to scam" - that was funny).

A side-product of this all is that you create scammers yourself, especially many newbies, they learn quickly what kind of rotten format this all has and in order to get their money back, they just copy the scams - its just too easy. If this is supposed to be the "Bitcoin way of living" then its shit and deserves to be labled with terrorists, illegal activities and dodgy business.

Lets say, some people higher up even know its going on like this but "dont care" because, for instance, they "expect a certain rational maturity when dealing with people" etc. - then you should be tried for "failure to render assistance". I would love to see the "right for privacy & account selling" vs. "failure to render assistance" in court.

And yes, dont start with Bitcoin blabla.. anonymity ... blabla... before and after all that, there is a rule of law. A scam is a scam, even when you scam for heroin - there is no excuse contrary to what is scammed and what kind of form it has. Later the guy scamming the heroin, in this example, will get prosecuted for illegal substance blabla.. but, the scam itself is another crime. A scam is like a planned intention of harming someone else - and at times, for this alone you will get a harsher penalty than for what the scam was.

Im telling, to finish off the way i started, for all heroes:

"There is a storm coming"

haha. That is 100% photoshopped. Notice how it says "Sent to Intermediary" but is apparently a message from me?  In order for that to be legit it would mean that the screenshot was taken from my outbox.
Also, this is not true as any PM that comes to your Inbox comes with "Sent to [your username here]".

When I got the unsolicited pm from esotoricizm, I looked, not just at the number of posts he had to his name.  I looked also at the actual posts he was making.  And like you, I thought I was dealing with someone trustworthy.  And if you read my Skype chat with the skype ID I was given in his pm and which Shorena can confirm he gave me to invite me to Skype, I also reassured him I had no problem going first with the transaction as I could see he was trustworthy.

There is no one on this planet that can come up with any proof of me running a scam.  Several of us, not just me, are out of pocket after dealings with your mate which started with messages from his account.  And during this time, he has come on her to post, not to ask, how can this be happening, and look into it from his end, but to say it can't be true because it was photoshopped.  If that is his only defence of being innocent, a top moderator has seen with her own eyes that there was no photoshop of anything in my inbox.

Lol, do you need me to ask the Radium developers or DigiByte core developers to change something on their btctalk ANN OPs for you guys to believe I'm actually who I say I am?

I did notice that post by that global moderator but it doesn't really explain anything imho. I'm just giving my opinion on my dealings with esotericizm, he's been trustworthy towards me is all I can really say. I don't have all the facts it seems but I will be watching to see if the moderators resolve this issue.

esotericizm had previously posted a screenshot of what he claimed to be his outbox showing that he never contacted the OP, and therefore never could have communicated via skype. The fact that esotericizm actually sent the OP a PM means that he presented a doctored screenshot (or otherwise was misleading his involvement with the OP), and it would be reasonable to conclude that he did in fact scam the OP

Its absolutely horrible that a respected member of this community gets slandered in the way your being slandered esotericizm, this is so obviously photoshopped and fake it actually made me laugh. Imvho the person who started this thread should get banned from this forum for fraud.
Great job of reading the thread, like the post by grue above, who has access to PMs and confirms those PMs have been sent, or the post by shorena a little more up above, who was granted access to the account of Intermediary and confirmed the PMs that account recieved.
If you have not read through the thread, sometimes saying nothing at all is the better option.

lol what? That image from the OP has been photoshopped. I don't type in broken/pidgeon english.

Seems like somebodies not happy with the work I've been doing on DigiByte. Member since May 2013 why would I choose to now scam some newbie?

Rofl in the screenshots of Skype my username is esotericizm99 when in actual fact I  use esotericizm88 (cos I was born in 88).

Still no neg rep from ANY DT1 or 2... this proves CLEARLY that the system doesn't work with the trust abusers currently in DT1 and 2.

You know your account has not been hacked which is why your response to these accusations isn't concern that such could be possible but to call your accusers liars.   The fact remains, whether you are in on it or not, that innocent people on this forum cannot trade with confidence with anyone in your name.  The negative record should not be removed from your account (which I believe you have successfully had done in the past)

I've done a screen grab of my inbox which shows my inbox message summary with the 3 pms received from you yesterday.   I am happy to post that here to show who sent what to whom and when.  However it does show other individuals that also sent me pms (pms since 2011 when I first joined this forum) and I don't know if that is okay to be displaying the names of people not involved in this scam.  Of course, if I had photoshop skills, I could edit their names out!!!

Well, how about this non-photoshopped screen shot of when you told me this morning to contact you on your skype id of esotericizm99.  Or did I photoshop that image too?

Just be sure it was a genuine admin you gave your log in details to.

I am also happy to give a genuine admin my log in details to confirm that pm messages are being sent by that user account to initiate fraudulent transactions.

I gave the admin my login credentials. If he checks also from the other user that he received a pm with his skype name, I can give to the admin my credentials to skype too, so he can check the conv..

@QS doesn't reporting your PM ,  go to admin and not mods? Always thought of it that way. Don't think mods will get involved, anyway
You have the option to have the report go to any of the Admins or Global Moderators, or to all of the Admins/Global Mods.

Either way, an admin can confirm a report received the same way a global mod can

It's easy to remove the whole conversation via inspect element, but it's hard adding a whole convo to it. Just my 2 cents.

Actually its pretty easy to do both. If you want to delete a certain message from outbox, there's always the option provided by the forum. And if you want a new sake conversation added, all you have to do is send a PM to yourself and inspect element the username it was sent to, the date and time perhaps.

@OP are you able to give the login credentials to shorena or someone more trusted , to prove your side of the story? Also @QS doesn't reporting your PM ,  go to admin and not mods? Always thought of it that way. Don't think mods will get involved, anyway

You guys need to get some common sense.

Hero Member, legendary member, whatever is useless, I'm a hero member and no one on this forum knows how trustworthy I am because I have done zero transactions with anyone on this forum. Judging from the signature campaign thread that is worth 34 bucks a month or 12 cents a post, which is nothing. Why do you think someone would hesitate to throw that away for your 75 bucks or a larger amount?

Second, about default trust. Lots of issues there. First, it's nice that confirmed liar with a 0 default trust quick seller is here to save the day. That right there shows the system is broken. He provided bogus escrows for his own trades, but has got enough people on the DT list to give him positive reviews to get him back up to 0, so that right there proves it's useless.

Second, default trust is not meant to be the forum police. Some of them have taken upon themselves to tag people that other people have scammed, but the point was supposed to be you let people know who you did legit trades with, and who ripped you off, letting other people chime in on other people's trades will just lead to more failure because how can someone really be sure about how a trade went down between other people.

Third, even if they were the forum police (and/or good at being the forum police) you would still be an idiot to trust anyone. How many big scams have bee run on this forum by supposedly "trusted" members. Now with  the trust system, and even before that system was put in? All of the significant ones.

If you want to make a trade, find a legitimate escrow, or prepare to get ripped off, it's very simple.

He can risk a hero member account that he has bought.  I wonder how many Hero Member accounts he has lined up for his future scams.

Gotcha, did not know that.  Well then I'm definitely not surprised there's a scam going on, but it's unfortunate that it's a hero member who's apparently perpetrating it.  I don't know why people would risk accounts that are worth a decent amount of money just for a one-time, small-amount scam.

Thank you for your feedback, random guy who seems to be account farming. He will be getting a neg from Vod for selling MSDN admin accounts for sure though, but I'm giving him 1 hr after a PM I'm sending him to reply here.

Just saw, seems to be regularly active even right now. Probably thinks turning the "Online" or not, thingy in the profile off will get him off

so now I've provided my own screenshots that show I havent sent any PM's since the 17th is that neg going to get removed? After almost 3 years here I decide one day to just up and sell some MSDN accounts? Doesn't make any sense. What makes more sense is that OP is some jaded DigiByte user who isn't happy with the price or something I've said.

I leave my PC on all the time and will regularly be logged in to the forum here on one of my multiple chrome tabs. There's nothing suspect about someone not replying for half a day and not everybody live in the States. It's 9AM here and I just woke up.

Looks like the neg was removed. Thanks very much, the system works ;p

It looks like the funds were sent to the scammer at 1CZFfbmJPPjvmpW7dNB46iTz233rDCh2Ns

Is the OP able to report the PM's received from esotericizm to a moderator who can verify the authenticity of the screenshot in the OP? As per above esotericizm is claiming to have never even contacted the OP, and if this is the case then it would not have been possible for the OP to have gotten scammed by esotericizm

the conversation is so long....I can't just do 100 screenshots of it, I uploaded the most important things. Now tell me why he's online and not replying on skype or here on BTC talk? tag him here c'mon and ask him what he wants to say about this. I gave him negative trust and he said nothing.
If you want any other proof just ask then...I don't know what else should I provide

Put it on pastebin, post it here directly[1]. The PM is probably not modified was just some smudge that made it look like you cut out a name after the 'hi' on my screen. What Im looking for is a way that lets me connect the skype conversation to the account here. From what you provided it could be two seperate issues. We have enough threads in meta about "abuse" already. Sorry if are cought up in this political nonsense, but thats how it is currently.

away from his computer from 6 hours.
Well I'm just saying.  I leave for work, do a 10 hour shift, and I'm basically logged into bitcointalk the whole time.  He hasn't posted recently, has he?  If not, that would suggest that he's away from his computer.  It's definitely possible.  Six hours is not an eternity.
Don't think thats the case, "Last active" shows the last time you were actively doing an action on bitcointalk , its not the logged in time. Also being active until 20-30 mins of receiving my PM seems extra shady, I believe this also rules out the possibility of him using a "Auto-refresher"
Gotcha, did not know that.  Well then I'm definitely not surprised there's a scam going on, but it's unfortunate that it's a hero member who's apparently perpetrating it.  I don't know why people would risk accounts that are worth a decent amount of money just for a one-time, small-amount scam.

the conversation is so long....I can't just do 100 screenshots of it, I uploaded the most important things. Now tell me why he's online and not replying on skype or here on BTC talk? tag him here c'mon and ask him what he wants to say about this. I gave him negative trust and he said nothing.
If you want any other proof just ask then...I don't know what else should I provide

It is possible he's logged in but away from his computer.  I know it looks like he scammed, but I'm trying to be optimistic--probably not a good idea on this forum, but whatever.

@shorena , I think the proof is pretty conclusive(if you don't consider the fact that he might have "Inspect-elemented" the PM, which I highly doubt) using the correct terminology, the individual accused is acting shadily and I highly suspect he is scamming/has scammed. I'm just going to follow the trolls for once and see what happens.

Lol guys just tell me what other proof you need and I'll provide it, why should I just waste my time to upload all the images and shit and find a fucking transaction of 75 dollars? WHY? REALLY TELL ME WHY SHOULD I DO ANYTHING LIKE THIS.

The pm isn't modified. I gave him my skype username and said to contact me. LOOK HERE.

Now, If you want any proof just ask. I just wanted to help people to not get scammed like me...

what do you mean by ''the pm is modified???''

Mexxer, if I may make a suggestion.  Fighting with trolls is a waste of your time and only serves to promote trolling.  You don't need to defend yourself against every little slight here.  You're doing a good job and I don't think your status on DT is in jeopardy.  Same goes for Lutpin, I think.

Why don't you take the time to neg rep the Hero member who scammed the Newbie in this thread?

I just took the time to see every bit of the proof presented.

I now have questions:

#1 why is the picture of the PM modified?
#2 how is the skype account related to the account in question?
#3 where is the rest of the skype/PM communication?

Like you should have done from the start..... Take a look at the scam reports here and take a GOOD look howmany of the real scammers did not get a SINGLE neg rep from DT1 tot 2 members... if this doesn't tell you this system with people like you having their fingers on the button is completely useless you are blind or doesn't want to see it on purpose. I'm more happy to be a sockpuppet than a useless policing entity that abuser power or miss uses it....

Also, people like you are the reason I no longer frequently watch this section to help out. Its just not worth it to get insulted because ... I honestly dont even know what your issue is. We are here in our free time, you are not entitled to get anything here.

Hero member talks to Newbie on Skype
Hero member takes money from Newbie
Hero member goes offline on Skype but still active on BCT

SCAM!

But this is a hero member so people like useless mexxer don't act....
Exact same situation with a Full member or less and the scammer would have -10 by now....

I said it once and i'll say it again, people like mexxer on DT default are useless, real scammers get away with it
Thank you for your feedback, random guy who seems to be account farming. He will be getting a neg from Vod for selling MSDN admin accounts for sure though, but I'm giving him 1 hr after a PM I'm sending him to reply here.

Your argument is hilarious though: You're the only guy who can help, you're not helping, off with you.

I can show you a very large list where you gave users neg trust without any scam report or without you sending them a PM to explain anything, none of THEM is a Hero member though..... want me to get started on it Mr trust abuser?

You are so useless.... this is obvious a REAL scam and you don't even bother to neg rep... yet you hand them out on other members where there is no proof... you are the most useless person on this whole forum.

Removing people like you from the default DT is the only right solution..... you are a big joke mister

Damn mexxer-2 you are being a scape goat lately.People first accuse of giving negative reps and now for not giving them.

Irrelevant(nah kidding, he's getting tagged by Vod in some time)  if he did sell MS Admin accounts(potentially cracked or otherwise obtained via illegal means) isn't the transaction from some hours ago? Has he confessed he scammed you or something similar? If not , he might just be AFK or otherwise not able to contact you

LOL.

People are crying about him negging users without any solid proof in one topic.
Then I see this message.

I enjoy watching the world burn.
I really do.

He has a point there though. Shit happens. Maybe that guy doesn't have access to the internet, or something.

why don't use escrows for trade ?
Did you read the screenshots OP posted?  The accused wanted to do the whole deal in private to avoid getting negged or whatever for selling these accounts.  Probably a good idea to just ignore people who want to do business via PMs and Skype.  Everything should be done out in the open here.
