They are filled up in twitter. I almost fell for one. Had to carefully read testimonies of victims, so I ran away. Some people will continue to fall victims despite repeated warning. It's greediness.

Yikes. How the hell are the scammers getting the blue "verified" tick? Shouldn't be that easy right? Twitter needs to up their game as soon as possible.

They are hacking people outside of cryptocurrency with verified badges and then changing their name. On other platforms, if you change your name you have to get reverified ( which only seems right ) but I guess on twitter you don't have too.
yes, the account they are hacking does not recognize crypto, they hack it and change it as if they are professionals in crypto.
twitter is not as tight as facebook, facebook is not as easy as changing a different name away from the previous name, but why do people still use twitter? is not facebook safer?

This is quite unfortunate that we have such dishonest people around, we need to be cautious when we are online. Twitter is full of scammers, let's beware.

The scammers are everywhere now and one has to be very carefully in order not to fall victim of scam. Not only on Twitter but everywhere. They have been able to have several contact information of people by collating them through fake airdrop announcement.

Not only are the scammers doing the fake accounts that say "send .02 BTC and get triple" but apparently now they are either buying verified accounts or hacking them and changing the names and pictures to cryptocurrency people. Now it can actually be hard to tell if someone is scamming.

Really shitty that this is happening. Be careful everyone
People call bitcoin a bubble or a scam or a chit fund company because of these people only who are doing such a negative shit with the bitcoin, like any chit fund company they will promise you to double your coins but when you pay them, they will run with all your money, I also once get scammed, one site naming, bitcointalkaccounts.com has promised me to give me a bitcoin account and when a made payment, they blocked me and didn’t gave any account so I will suggest you that be aware from all these scams and enjoy your bitcoining.

I am sorry to say this but anybody that falls for these scam is just blinded by greed. Why would anybody ask u for eth to give u  a coin that is suppose  to be an airdrop. That's enough red light .but then no matter dumb a scam is Somebody will always fall for it that's why facebook, twitter, btctalk, telegram  scams will always strive.

Thanks for the warning, i may know now that even twitter accounts getting hacked to be use on some dirty trick just to collect crypto currency,  how sad, instead of doing things right and be an influencer to the other, they choose to become a bad people. Lets just compete each other not just to do something that not fair.

Yes,it is a matter of sorrow that someone use this account for this type of work. By the way, twitter is also used in many evil work now. Some people do this but they are really bad people who don't belong this forum. On the other hand, some people also use the same twitter account in the ICO google form when they want to promote a bounty. As an assistant,I saw that now-a-days.

Scammers can buy verified accounts then they can change the name and its info but still verified? this is the red flag for the twitters part they should do something about this, fraudsters are smart these days a simple loophole can be an effective weapon to steal people's money, Twitter should unverify the profile once the user changes its name and info we should be wary about this, don't click nor follow any fishy promotions and airdrops.

Every people always ambition with so much material, to reach this many kind of thing that people does. From scammer or hacker. Especially crypto world where the money is so easy, it will make so much scammer. For example, make airdrop then make airdrop twitter account, tell us to send 0.001 eth to get much coins that promising but in the end we get nothing. Maybe we get it but it doesn't have any value.

It is undeniable if fraud including scams via twitter is hard to know. Hackers are smart, they have many cunning ways to hack. They justify any means to gain what is not their right. I can only suggest for twitter managers to create some more complex security code especially for crypto currency where this security code can minimize fraud. I just pray that these hackers will immediately realize and not take the rights of others. If there is no hacker then the competition in crypto currency can be healthier.

Not just mcafee,  even LTC founder Charlie,  BCH founder Roger Ver and ETH founder Vitalik are being impersonate by scammers.
I guess there must be a crypto guy inside Twitter and there must be a scam report option in the Twitter report.

If this is true it should be reported to Twitter management, and the real account owner should also report this to authorities because they are using this for nefarious activities, and this will ruin their reputation. That accounts must be banned if it is real though.
Even if you report the situation to twitter management they won't do much cause the case is not new and twitter management are yet to do something about it. Meanwhile, Facebook secure their user by temporarily close any account or group which find suspicious unless they provide all the necessary documents. I wonder why some bounty owner even do twitter campaign.
It's just so sad that nowadays scammers will do anything they can just to harm others and get what they want. It's a total bad news for all of us since twitter is now also being used as a way to scam. Well all that we can do is to act wisely so that scammers can't do what they want. Let's do our best to avoid those people and stop them from doing such things.
