Well, if you ordered early you still get it early. The 1/3 shipping thing only applies to orders made in the first month of selling. The rest of the orders are on a first come first serve basis.

A Jalapeno should make about $1-2,000 in one year

That is completely dependent on the Hash Rate.  As ASIC hit the market, the hash rate will go up by 10x, 20x or more.  When it does the little Jallay's will only make a few BTC a month or less.

If you are lucky enough to get one on the first day you might stand to make a little more initially.

you take what you can get.

lol if anything an increase in hash capacity will increase the price per btc
Nonsense. Why?

His statement would actually be correct if it'd be like: "lol if anything an increase in hash difficulty will increase the electricity price per btc"

I hate this delays. If I calculate how much I earn with BFL unit now and they ship it in 6 months, reality will be far far away from my calculation.

http://bitclockers.com/miningcalculator

YES IT DOES, exactly $ 1,679.21

and most people really are buying

I wish I could see the look on your face when you realize that the difficulty changes and it is likely to be over 100,000,000 by the end of 2013, maybe as high as 250,000,000.

You better factor in all the folks that preordered from BFL back in June, July, August, September and October that will be getting their units before you, call it 35,000,000 difficulty

2% monthly difficulty growth is a joke, we will see something in the 10% range more likely.

Good news is that you should not lose money and can make some at the current BTC rate, and if the rate keeps going up you still have a chance to make some good money, but I would not count on more than 30-100% profit on your investment in the first year (additional 10-20% after year 1, retire after it stops making more money than electricity it burns)

Do some more research, you are in a good place with lots of info scattered around, but if you just believe the calculators you are going to lose your ass.

A Jalapeno should make about $1-2,000 in one year
Then you should take out a couple mortgages on your house and buy 2000 of them, you'll be a millionaire in a year!

How many bitcoins would 4.5 gigahash mine today? I have one on order. Will I plug it in and be disappointed? I'm too lazy to figured it out myself, and someone has already done the calculations, so why reinvent the wheel?
The amount 4.5 Gh.s would mine today isn't too important to you as the difficulty will be much higher when you receive your hardware.

Why did you order a mining device without first calculating the BTC it will mine at various difficulties and the electricity cost of operating it?

Can we all petition for an increase in hashing capacity? BTCFPGA is selling their basic 54 gigahash as 72 gigahash now AND their basic 27 gigahash as 36 gigahash!
Keep in mind that the BFL units will be more energy efficient than their bASIC counterparts, due to their 65nm vs 90nm process.  This this will counteract bASIC's higher GH/s/$ in the long term.

how does two singles and jally equal 164.5 gh?
It doesn't.  124.5 Gh/s is the correct total.

I did calculate but see, it's been a while and this Bitcoin world moves very quickly. I'm not a genius like yourself. Plus, it was only $163 total. Big deal. Then there's the option of trading it in for something faster if it ends up being too slow, or just sell it and move on. Not to mention, at the time I bought it, people were still willing to build FPGA rigs, spending $600+ on new cards. So my $163 investment for 4.5ghz did not seem to be very risky and still does not. In fact, it never will. $163 is cheap.

By the time the hash rate goes from 25 TH/s to 250 TH in March you will be making $0.81 per day.  Today you'd be making 10x that.  When the Hash rate goes to 500TH you'll be making 0.40 per day if the BTC stay about $12.  If the BTC rate goes up so does the amount you make.

I have two Sinlge's and Jallay on the way.  164,500 MH/s.  My two single FPGA just went from making $6 /day to $3 /day :-(

Looking to do some mining.
