I bet you people waiting to order for BFL to ship regret that now.

Yes, I regret not dumping 200 BTC into a Single 10 months ago. That 200 BTC is now worth $28,000. I am so sad!

honestly, if you REALLY felt BTC would have increased in value it would of been bset to buy 200 BTC with cash ASAP after placing the order, then you wouldnt of been out the mone) Smiley

Hehe maybe the 3dfx reference is apt.  But I don't know, the Voodoo 3 kicked ass Smiley

i just want SOMEONE to deliver a lower priced option for ASIC. i mean, with avalon the only game in town right now, the little guy (hi!) is screwed. all i can do is buy asicminer shares (and barely that...) a low cost mining device would be VERY welcome. shame BFL is the only one to offer one.

HAHA.  I paid in FIAT and I think the USD is actually less valuable now... I have no regrets at all.  No wait,, I should have wired the money to get my under #3000 order in. I regret that but no that much.

I regret that you did it. If you feed the scammers, they will hang around and cause more trouble. Quit paying people to destroy the BTC ecosystem.

Could easily be a scam, or a failed attempt at an honest business, but isn't the price rise a good sign?

I've been hoping their prices would rise, it seemed like the obvious thing they should do if 1) price of btc has risen and 2) demand for their devices has exceeded their potential near-term supply.

Then again, I have a little single on order, so maybe I'm just starry-eyed.

The price rise is a desperate attempt to staunch the flow of refund demands before they run out of money to pay Josh's salary.

ASICMiner is getting into hardware sales and we know those guys can deliver. Ordering from BFL was a risky proposition as it was with off the charts efficiency, given the risk of insolvency and danger of never breaking even on your purchases even if they do ship. Now the risk is increased even higher at a time when Avalon is about to ship 80+Th and ASICMiner is bringing online another 50Th. BFL's response? Lower hashrates, massively increase power consumption, and increase prices. Ordering from BFL at this point is a near certain losing proposition given the tremendous lead times. Good thing they sent out those discount vouchers to the people they've already fleeced eh?
Really?Where did you read this?

The prices rose and the performance fell, no that's not a good thing for a pre-order vaporware product. Avalon is working on a successor product to their modular units and we know those guys can deliver. ASICMiner is getting into hardware sales and we know those guys can deliver. I wish by some twist of weird chip-logic fate that the Voodoo 5's actually turned out to be great miners.  Be great to buy up a bunch of them for a mining rig hehe Smiley

I could Imagine this. 3dfx chips where designed that up to 256 GPUs could work in parallel. And this was in the late 90s. That's actually where Nvidia got their SLI technology from.

Just think about them further developing this technology until today.

Their new schedule:

Quote
Pre-order Terms: Bitforce SC (ASIC) products are in final stage development with initial shipping scheduled for the last half of April 2013. Products are shipped according to placement in the order queue, and delivery may take 2 months or more after order. All sales are final.

"initial shipping scheduled last half of April 2013"
"delivery may take 2 months or more after order"

What a joke. And I'm not so sure they will be able to make everybody "whole". They will send 50GHs for Singles and 25GHs for Little Singles.

What about power specs? I'm so glad I did not order a mini rig, I cannot imagine what they will send to "make whole" early mini rig orders.

I think I still have a Voodoo 4 laying around in a box of old components somewhere. I never did get my hands on a Voodoo 5 5500 model though.
