On my windows wallet, I set tithe=10 and restarted and it tithed properly 3 times.

I don't see any problems.

I'm disabling this until go live.

Most likely, whoever had the issue had a message in the debug log with a wallet unlock error or something (maybe NSF, etc).

NOTE:  If you test your miner now before go live, and you don't auto tithe, grep the debug.log for this:  BiblePayMiner::SendTithe::   (All the send tithe errors contain this prefix).

Below are three articles related to Proof of Giving.

If anyone has feedback, please DM here or at Discord https://discord.gg/RK8n4xh

MIP just mentioned to me that people in Discord are confused about POG because the docs are outdated.

I'm going to go through these now and create a more concise version.

Then if someone wants to take it and make it look nicer as a PDF for the web site etc they can- I will work on this now.

Nope, I mean "-resync". It's two levels "above" rescan (which only scans the blockchain without changing it) and one level above reindex (which uses already existing block files). It automatically deletes all blockchain-related files and re-downloads it completely.

First I've heard of the -resync option. Is it part of Bitcoin? Its not part of DASH as far as I can find. Do you know what coin offers this option?

I don't know if it's part of Dash or Bitcoin, but some of my other QT wallets like CARE and XAX definitely have this feature and it's quite handy. Wink

We integrated the pool with the Walmart API.

46k BBP for $15 Subway Gift card delivered by fedex very quickly.

Thank you for confirming!  Thanks for ordering.  I ordered one myself and saw on the back of the card that it's reloadable.
Its something cool for us to keep in mind if we ever want to reload our users Subway cards.

Also, I did take a look at e-mailing gift certificates and made some progress on that, but I need to update everyone later as there are higher priority things going on right now.

But I will persistently get back to that project asap as I found one solid and concrete way for BiblePay to e-mail a gift card from the pool with WalMart gift cards.

Great!
when can we see BBP Gift Cards for non-US residents ?
Maybe Ebay / GOOGLE PLAY / Amazon  ?

So far, we have an agreement with Walmart, and I have confirmed that we will be able to offer e-mailed walmart gift cards soon that work in physical stores.

I can't promise that the card will work in other Countries yet.  But this appears to be a great addition for us to add as some people will want to spend biblepay without revealing their home address.

I would humbly ask that it actually gets used then.  Nothing in the discord announcements about this fork, about POG, about anything important.  If POG starts in 2 days, where is it announced?

Discord announcements channels weren't utilized for this specific change. All the other points you mentioned are being discussed here, Discord, and other social media channels. We've been discussing on Discord testnet and mining channel for weeks now. I also sent out a newsletter to 500+ subscribers.  Are you on the newsletter list? https://www.biblepay.org/newsletter/

More than reasonable attempts were made to get the word out via e-mail and social media. I'm not sure why you missed the communications. Is there some other way you want to be notified?

This is a reminder for PoDC crunchers that World Community Grid (WCG) has planned maintenance Wednesday, February 6, beginning at 19:00 UTC.

This will be about 10 hours AFTER PoG goes live. If you see any odd behavior with PoDC, please allow 1-2 days for things to settle down. You may see misreported RAC or incorrect PoDC payment.

Planned Maintenance on Wednesday, February 6
4 Feb 2019

Summary
We are updating the operating system on our servers on Wednesday, February 6, beginning at 19:00 UTC.

We will be applying an important operating system update to our servers on Wednesday, February 6, beginning at 19:00 UTC. We anticipate that the work will take approximately two hours.

During some of this time, volunteers will not be able to upload or download new work, and the website will not be accessible.

Volunteers will not need to take any particular action, as your devices will automatically retry their connections after the maintenance work is completed.

We appreciate your patience and participation.

Exactly. How do i determine that the getblockhash result that is returned in my wallet reflects the correct chain? Is there something that i can check it against?

In your QT wallet, you go to Tools, Debug Console
Then type the command in there.

but you need to check some block number after fork, because if you will be checking 99435 when fork will be at 104532 then you will not determine if you are on correct chain
explorer could also be on fork, you can try deposit to exchanges (it will not work if you are on fork) or just ask here Smiley

Hi!, I have wallets in diferent block height. Wich one is the right one? How do I find out the correct block the chain is in?

Just verify this hash matches:
getblockhash 99435
20:32:25
1f0d42e4696112cd70b57cce11d323012641e33cd81e6db4800b358b92148dd4

If it does not, rm files and restart.

If you lose any solo mining rewards its because they were mined on a fork.

Where do we find that hash to check against, say, incase we wanted to check it at any time?

the command is

Code:
getblockhash

when you type 99435, biblepay qt wallet gives you the hash of that block number.

This is a common way to check you are on the same chain (same page).

I think he is asking where he can find correct hash in the future for his next check.

Exactly. How do i know that the getblockhash result that is returned in my wallet reflects the correct chain?
you find it very easy....

1.jump to any explorer http://explorer.biblepay.org/   http://explorer.biblepay.org:3001/
2.fill 99649
3.youll see

I'm curious why we're not using discord as much as other coins. It works really well for one-on-one troubleshooting and the devs can have their chat room also.

As a point of reference, 100% of the people I've talked to about this coin and getting involved had the same feedback:

The ANN thread is a mess, a complete nightmare to try and understand what's happening.

I tend to agree, and don't push back against this viewpoint because it appears valid. It makes it appear that the project is spinning out of control I think.

Go back and read the last 5-10 pages. Go do it. It's incoherent and disorganized.

The discord invite link is here:
https://discord.gg/RK8n4xh

I'll make an effort to offer help then send people to Discord for more help.

But you also realize that for forum visibility and SEO purposes, having text on the forum helps get exposure for new users.

I would humbly ask that it actually gets used then.  Nothing in the discord announcements about this fork, about POG, about anything important.  If POG starts in 2 days, where is it announced?
