Recently I started working on a side project with a goal in mind to allow BiblePay to be spendable as a Utility.  I started working with Walmart to see if they will allow us to integrate their API so Pool users can buy certain things (like $20 gift cards) with free shipping.  I'm also attempting to work with another third party API that allows us to buy Subway (Sandwich Shop) gift cards with no delivery fees and no markups.  Whoever comes through first should technically allow us to create a pilot program in the pool for this project.

In part of this project we needed to allow users to make a BBP deposit (into the pool).  Therefore I have exposed the Deposit menu button.

Please, realize this is in Alpha, so don't send a lot, maybe keep it below 100 bbp for now until we know we have a 100% successful alpha test.

Could we please have 10 or so users make some deposits to the pool over the next 24 hours, and just keep track of the process and verify your balance has increased correctly and none are lost?

Just click Account | Deposit to test this feature.

Thanks!

EDIT:  Once there is more than 1 confirm, you should be able to go back to the Deposit page and see the Pending deposit amount.

ecommerce Good idea. Something like this? https://giftsolutions.wpengine.com/buy-gift-cards/

If you can get BBP to BTC and there's API, you can get access to a lot of gift cards. I'd think BBP -> BTC -> stable coin (TrueUSD?) or fiat would be ideal. or BBP directly to TrueUSD would be awesome. SimpleSwap has TrueUSD as an exchange option... not sure if you got listed with them ... whatever happened there?

Are you using an out of the box ecommerce shopping cart, or you rolling your own?

Correct. You need ~20 BBP for 1 RAC for 100% reward. But lower end to get 10% level, you need ~4 BBP for 1 RAC for 10% reward. You can buy BBP on an exchange to get you to 43k BBP. DM if you want to buy some directly.

So do I need 42,953 BBP in my wallet to earn a payout??? And 942,864 for a full payout???

There are other worthy life science CPU distributed computing projects you should consider:

TN_GRID  http://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/

Citizen Science Grid  https://csgrid.org/csg/

And if you're amenable to electronics & physics:

Distributed Hardware Evolution Project  https://dhep.ga/boinc/

How should I remove this spam from my email?? I removed already orphan child from my account cause the system for writing letters doesnt work properly. How can I unsubscribe, cancel this everydays email? Thanks.
I removed her once again from my account, maybe it will help, maybe.

Dear tomassekeres,

The BiblePay Adoption System is notifying you that you have not written to Rowena Paladar in over 30 day(s).
Please consider writing to your child today.

After 60 days, BiblePay will be forced to abandon the childs relationship from your account which could be dissapointing for a child.

Thank you for using BiblePay.

Best Regards,
BiblePay Support

Let me check into this...

Since we have biblepaycore letter writing going in testnet now, I disabled the adoption systems e-mail warning.

This will be deployed today.

This is correct. workerid on purepool should be your BBP public address.

What does getmininginfo say? do you have a valid cpid registered with the wallet?
this wallet using for PODC,and yes cpid is registered.......and pow doesnt working ....

I ask you not to drop PODC support, as we are today the only profitable coin for BOINC community.
Dropping BOINC support in Biblepay will decrease the computer power in BOINC -> harming cancer curing research.
We help saving lives! Cry  - you cannot say this for any other mining protocol.

Promoting Christian values (which includes BiblePay's survival) comes first. PoDC is a good idea but has many parts to set up and many newcomers found it difficult. Even for me, that works in IT, there's a lot of places I got stuck while trying to figure out PoDC. I think PoG can replace PoDC over time and more people can participate because PoG is very easy to use. Hopefully, Rob will make a checkbox in QT wallet, a default for how often you want to give, restart wallet, and you're good to go.

Since PoDC is still live, I'd like to see slow switch... like 100 days to which from PoDC to PoG. Day 1 PoG is 1% of daily superblock. Day 10 PoG is 10% of daily superblock. Day 100 PoG is 100% and PoDC is 0%. Each block day (205 blocks) x 100 = 20500 blocks. That will give everyone more than 3 months to adjust to PoG. BiblePay PoDC alternatives are GridCoin, ByteBall, Neumannium (WAVES), and DCP (DCC token, aka SPARC alpha). I encourage you to participate in PoG testnet and use the BBP you bought or earned with PoDC and use it for PoG (Proof Of Giving).

There is no longer alternative to Biblepay these days. Byteball is out now and other coins are not profitable,
That's why I said that we are the only profitable option for BOINC.

Please don't forget we are helping curing cancer and if we will drop support - many stations (including mine) will stop using BOINC, hurting these curing projects.
I suggest to keep BOINC even when we go to PoG.

Keeping the "Help curing cancer" trademark on our flag.

(Note that I have an email address right on the pool contact page - and nothing was sent).

Yes, nothing was sent. I was not that motivated to report it. Manual withdraw didn't work either in May 29, 2018, but you were able to fix it. After that, I never used pool.biblepay.org for mining again. So, it might have been an intermittent issue that I happen to get caught in. As a courtesy, I like to report issues, but at the time I was likely feeling resentment so I didn't bother. The problem may have been intermittent, but if BiblePay users are discouraged from communicating you have less help from the community to address issues.

We could use a few letters to be written this month, please (last month we sent a ton, this month we have a sparse participation level).

Also please see the letters coming in from Cameroon, they still write on large tablets out there- I think its awesome.

Quick question about the pool: I tried to withdraw some BBP from there, chose the amount, clicked "send" and received the usual e-mail.
However, when I click on the link in there, I always get redirected to a page with a single sentence: "Please wait until January 1, 2021 before withdrawing more than 1001 BBP."
Since when is this restriction enabled? What is the purpose of it? Why is this not stated as soon as you want to withdraw it from the pool?

It would be nice if you could either remove this restriction OR increase the percentage of the auto-withdraw. Because right now my coins keep piling up on the pool and it is really tedious to pull them off there in 1k batches. Wink

Hi Dave,

I'm committed to making it work properly.

For higher security however, I do feel we should work on auto-withdraws first.  Do you have that feature enabled?

I will work with you to ensure it either works or figure out what error it failed with.

The raising of the withdrawal limit is secondary - I confirm, this limit was added recently due to what appeared to be someone making a hacking attempt.

Looking at the logs, auto withdrawals have been working on pool.biblepay.org and they went out today, and most people are using them.

Dave, you might have to populate your receive address and click Enable Auto Withdrawals.  They go out every morning at 9AM CST.

Hi Rob,

yes thank you, auto-withdrawal works fine for me and has done so for the last couple of months. But I used to manually withdraw coins additionally, because the auto-withdrawal is set to too little coins (or a too low percentage), meaning without manual withdrawals the coins keep piling up on the pool.
I think the most simple way would be to increase the amount of coins for the auto-w. for balances of - let's say - over 1000 BBP. That would be perfect. Wink

Btw, I read what you mentioned about the flow (where we should throw the error at the point of withdraw, not later when they click verify e-mail) and I agree, we will fix that tonight.

On the limits, let me see what I can do.  Maybe I will make an exception for people we trust, and approve people like you and Slovakia with a higher limit.

Let me take a look at it.

Short-term we talked about it merging with POBH.   The long term goal was to replace PODC.

Just to clarify... You can't merge PoG with PoBH (PoW) because PoG is a daily superblock now. Perhaps I misunderstood and you meant the economics are siphoning from PoBH? After being in testnet, I've changed my mind and see sharing the PoDC with PoG makes more sense now. With GridCoin (GRC) pool and that guy from Turkey being the biggest BOINCers, I don't even see PoDC participants being aligned with Christian values. So, the sooner we can get off PoDC safely, the better. After the team requirement went away, there was no marketing angle being able to say a Christian coin was helping to cure cancer.  Now I feel like the messaging like seoccular says is to say to BiblePay is about promoting Christian values. Whether that is tithing, giving to charities (compassion, bloom, kairos), or something else... as long as it aligns with defined Christian values, it allows BiblePay to be more agile and test out innovative and/or novel technologies without deviating from the "Christian values" angle.

Thanks Sun, I appreciate your thoughts that take Christianity into consideration in the total mission.

I can say also that I love how philanthropic the BOINC community is in giving distributed computing time.  But I also feel that we as a community are capable of spreading the Gospel to masses and might have painted ourselves in a corner by appealing to a small segment of the available miners.  It will be very interesting to see if we can appeal to a few new users per day that feel like coming back daily to visit Christian spaces and evangelize to their friends.

Dear BBP community,
I ask you not to drop PODC support, as we are today the only profitable coin for BOINC community.
Dropping BOINC support in Biblepay will decrease the computer power in BOINC -> harming cancer curing research.
We help saving lives! Cry  - you cannot say this for any other mining protocol.

I suggest to code a more easy BOINC adaptation platform - in Byteball BOINC adaptation was very easy.
