So tomorrow CCEX will be trading BBP again?
What can we expect, massive selling orders?

I technically expect buy orders until we have 250 sancs... but I dont expect people to go wild either, because they probably dont want to pay more than DOGE to buy sancs, unless they have to.

I do have a message in to ccex, but havent heard from him yet, so I wouldnt expect the exchange to be open right away.  He probably has over 1000 emails to work through.

The Bitcoin Forum Admin that runs the Forum Ads is claiming that BiblePay is an ICO

"I noticed this time that your ad is for an ICO, but we do not accept ads for ICOs.
The fact that you wanted to advertise an ICO slipped past me when I checked your last ad;
I'm sorry for causing you to waste time on fixing the ad." -theymos

"Hmm, I'm not sure... I see that it's not a traditional ICO,
but since the architecture is maybe quite centralized (with the orphan fund and masternodes),
perhaps it could be considered "an ICO with more steps".

For now I think that it's too close to an ICO. You could create a topic in Meta requesting public comment,
and if there's consensus that it's more like eg. Litecoin than an ICO, then I'd probably allow it." -theymos

I will be posting this in Meta section as suggested, this is quite strange

UPDATE:

I would stress to him we have no resemblence to an ICO - at all, with no premine and no orphan starting fund.

Sanctuaries are *decentralized*.

Our agreement with Compassion is Voted monthly - and each monthly expense is a decentralized proposal.

We are not a coin with a centralized orphan fund, we have decentralized voting that keeps voting for our recurring expenses for our #1 partner: Compassion.

Before 3-4 days I solved 3 blocks, but the wallet crashed. It also show no confirmations for 2 of the blocks (I think it was version 1.0.8.1).
After reopen the birds were gone.

Look into your Data/backups folder and I think you will find there plenty of backups of your wallet. I think you can copy and rename one instead of the live wallet. Make sure you close the BiblePay app first, and also keep wallet.dat copy. There is also many wallet repair tools under "Tools->Wallet repair".

Chances are likey they were on another fork.  If it isn't on the correct chain, and you upgrade the wallet, they will be removed.

On Jan 15 my wife's windows wallet apparently solved a block. However, it was during a time when there was a flurry of upgrades, so I'm trying to figure out if this reward is legit. Here's the info:

I entered the Height/block number in the block explorer, here are the results:

40 threads! I wonder if would be better result with 8 (as you have 8 threads per cpu).
It's not clear do you have 1 machine with 2 x this cpu or 2 separate machines? If you have 1 dual machine, then I would set it to 16 threads.

This sounds like an interesting project, however it requires that more stable exchanges are used to trade the coin. Is there some other exchange on the road?

Yeah, we have been working with one of the top 5 over the last 45 days and they claim they are going to decide on Jan 24 if we are listed or not -  but they demanded they stay anonymous or deal can fall through.

If that falls through Im going to be working with coinexchange.io and the decentralized ones that inblue posted a lot closer.

ride22 do you know that results for solo and pool is different?  Wink

You are saying hash rate is different?

Hey,
I am compiling a list of CPUs and hash rates.  Let me know what you have and what you are getting.

Sure, do you have plans to publish that compilation?

Yes, it will be on the biblepay forum in the mining section.

Thanks, and please post the link when you publish the compilation.

This is what I am working on to stave off the botnet.

Looks cool at first glance. It will widen the gap between early adopters and recent ones, but this seems a fair trade-off if it finally achieves the aim of getting rid off the botnets.

Wow, I think this is amazing... Does this mean its OK for me to have a daily release now for all linux users?  (Just kidding)...
So youve created a PPA for BiblePay??
This is awesome!
So, how much work do you have to go through when I push a release, or is it all automated?

Hi Smiley

Yes, I have created a PPA on my own account, but it is also possible to create a Team-PPA, so that not only one could handle it.

I created a proposal that explains a little bit more: http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=88.0
But I need your help in sending the Biblepay Counts to the pool to start the real proposal there Smiley

About the deployment: It require around 30-60 Minutes to setup, then only 1 or 2 minutes per release, it's really easy.
It is not automated yet, but we might change that later on, if all works well. But for an automated release, it would be better to use tags in git or something like that, so that the system could identify releases better Smiley

I wrote howto on creating a Team-PPA and setting up the process as part of the deb-builder (README): https://github.com/Lichtsucher/biblepay-deb-builder
It is written for developers, so I didn't explain how to checkout a git repo Grin

This is what I am working on to stave off the botnet.

The idea here is to ensure we have the information explained in a clear manner that captures the essence of the two key algorithms, so they can be conveyed as an enhancement to PoBh, and that so everyone understands the algorithm.

The plan is to enhance PoBH to be a hybrid: PoBH/POL.  This will also help reward our loyal investors, those who help tithe the children, with the propensity for more rewards - and also, to help us make mobile mining on mobile phones a reality for the poor unbanked in the world.

My plan is to add the algorithm to testnet only, and to start testing this in a couple days in testnet.

Please if you have any concerns or questions lets discuss them so we can make this the best enhancement possible, and also regain our network back at the same time.

If we can test this over the next 30 days in testnet, we could potentially go live end of March with a mandatory.

Note, I do want 50 or so of us to start getting ready for testnet again, but a mandatory upgrade will be required for testnet so please ready machine but do not bother syncing.

PS Ill add Pool Effects to the wiki.

Pool question ... what is the difference between a PhysicalMachine and a LogicalMachine?

I found some info online:

A physical machine is physical server, while a Logical Machine is a virtual machine/server - for example a VPS - that resides on a physical machine.

Another pool question ... what is "ElectricBill" ... and does it factor into the reward equation (hps/shares/etc = reward) for pool miners?

All electric bill is, is a static calculation for fun that divides the logical hashing machines (in attempt to sum the total watts expended per month) by that factor to show the estimated electric bill (at 10 cents per kwh) per month for that number of logical miners.

Its not used for anything.
