The pools are out of control now. Main pool shows top 10 miners like before and the rest with very little shares.

No, since every single miners HPS came down at the same time its all relative; after the upgrade we all earn the same amount as before.
The only difference is now there is no multi-copy exploit per node. And everyones "shares" on the pool will be a lower factor.

We should be hashing in f8000 right now in (upcoming) block 21351. Therefore HPS should have dropped.
This should be a very interesting block. Block 21351 should make all non-upgraded nodes veer off-track and blow up....

Yeah, if they dont upgrade and an hour passes with the current state of affairs, diff should drop down to 5000 or less and the half on the network will get double the coins...
Diff now at 7k
2 machines dropped from 15k hps to 0.8 hps.
Worth doing a re-install? I do not know what is normal.
My best machines dropped to a third or less of their pre-fork HPS, most are down to one-tenth or less of their prior hashrate. Two blocks have been mined in the past 3 hours versus one on average every 6 or 7 minutes before. Not very encouraging. Is this going to become the new normal?
Take a look at the explorer. All of sudden the difficulty is very low and several addresses are minting 18k every 7 minutes.

Meanwhile the pool shares have plummeted. The new client release has crippled pool miners and let private versions profit greatly

Things appear to be improving, thanks. I believe we are under attack though, on the full nodes, but thats pretty normal now. (Im seeing hundreds of closed connections with a fake connection string per second on the full external nodes).

Ok I think I sort of understand. Everyone is downgraded but downgraded equally across the board. But does that mean the actual shares given are also downgraded by a big factor? Like maybe before I was making 500 shares/day. Now it would be 50 or 250?

We will end up with approx 7 minute blocks like we used to have... Also, the nodes are slowly banning other nodes.
If you want to speed up the process, go to the peers list and right click any node below 1065 and ban them for 1 day.
I think over the next 8 hours, we will settle on 3000 or so diff until the others upgrade and things will be smooth again.
Regarding HPS though, that should be I think about 1/3rd of what it was.

Lets give it a full day. Maybe they take the indigestion better

I noticed a drop in HPS at block 21350. My HPS went from 40,000+ to 2,000+. I am with you I am not sure if this is the new normal.
