I sent a pm to edd about the crashes.  I thought the games should all be credited with time equal to the downtime, so they didn't end prematurely.

edd replied back that they would be working on an official stance on how bitcoinduit.com would be reacting to crashes.

I'm not playing anymore until we find out what the official word is.

I think I've been soured to this game and probably done with this game.  Over the last 2 crashes I've "lost" about 8 coins.  I put "lost" in quotes because we'll never know who would have won or not, or if any more contributions would come in or not, but there was a game that was going strong that, by my calculations, would have kept going and would probably have kept seeding the ROI.

But alas, it's the nature of gambling.  It just sucks that you lose money due to server/app issues.

Good luck to the rest of you!

Is there any reason all of the active rounds have had their expiration clock set to 83.33 hours?

Yup, that's how I revived them.

Promo: zombie rounds!

In response to the downtime, I have decided to spend 50 BTC out of pocket to revive some old rounds whose jackpots have already been paid out Smiley

Hey I seem to have lost a deposit.  I sent 2 coins to 1K7hjpjHwJSfXAMdyoTU1eALpbF2FQh9vL (transaction ID: 1c15d52b19e4918e74188bb9d12782ee853e2834b6789b7190ec32695c91610e) for http://bitcoinduit.com/rounds/298 it must have happened right after the crash but my client allowed me to send them Sad

Can I get some assistance or maybe a refund?

This game: http://bitcoinduit.com/rounds/209 won't let me send a deposit, but there's still time left, and I'm hoping to get the timers reset since there's only 5 hours left.

2btc sent to "tonto's public wallet" Smiley

edit for explanation: I'm in charge of the Bitcoinduit codebase and wallet, but not the alerter.  The alerter is frequently going down recently and we will release a fix soon.  In the meantime, refunds are being sent out to anyone who asks for them.

on the round zoutonged http://bitcoinduit.com/rounds/262 the next payout says .20 and the pot says .20. Shouldn't that bet be payed out?
The amount displayed is rounded off to 2 decimal places. I believe the amount in the pot is actually closer to 0.198.

I do not know yet, I'm a little confused. Grin You tell me about it
> Quote from bitcoinduit.com/help:
"#3 If you guess incorrectly, but you are the last one in when the game expires, you win the jackpot."
--> I was the last one in, so I thought Tongue

Again, the site did not process your bitcoin properly so what you sent was not counted as a deposit toward the game. I'm sorry but I don't know how to be any clearer than that.

***CLIP***

There are several things you seem to be overlooking:

  • The 0.5 BTC you sent did not make it to the Round so was not counted as a "deposit" in the game.
  • How do you know you were the only person to send bitcoin to that Round only to have it disappear? Someone else may have also tried to deposit after you, which, according to your logic, would make them the rightful winner.
Correctly.
As I said before, I do not want your money.
Still, at the moment, I am the only person who can prove
a deposit between 1kTt7jVHZ614g44LEjS1HtxHYpzE96Lkk deposit / round end  Wink

The jackpot for Round *No1*MEGAMASSIVE_POT has already been won and paid out. I'm sorry that the site provided you with an invalid payment address for your deposit but the fact of the matter is, you did not win this game.

Yeah, it's one of those unknown variables.  Smiley  At first I was a little upset that I lost some money in one of the games, but then, as pointed out, perhaps the game ending abruptly might have saved me money since I was debating sending another coin into the fray in hopes of keeping the game open. Smiley  Such is life. Smiley

I do not want my money back.

The point is that I do not understand.
If the site says "round is open, the round ends after one-two-three hours".

Now, I make a deposit.

Deposit does not appear anywhere ever. [except in the site owner's wallet]  Undecided

Then the round ends [without my deposit]. I lose my money, of course.

However, I am the last who deposited before the round ends!
Well, fair play, eh...?

Someone else might say to such a scam... Not me, because I am a nice person  Grin

You just had the bad luck of sending a deposit while the site wasn't working properly but before we noticed it. You attempted to make a deposit but the site ate it instead, which we take full responsibility for. As I mentioned, I'll be glad to refund you the 0.5 BTC.

There are several things you seem to be overlooking:

  • The 0.5 BTC you sent did not make it to the Round so was not counted as a "deposit" in the game.

All that was lost was your intended deposit. I hope you aren't claiming that the jackpot was yours before the Round ended.

The site has been around for a while, so it wasn't a scam.  Just an unfortunate turn of events.  I "lost" 3 coins from the crash, but I won't lose any sleep over it Smiley   I say "lost" in quotes because I calculated that by the end of the game I should have had an ROI, but who knows, maybe the game wouldn't have had any more participants.  Smiley

Edited due to a later post in the thread.  I've been soured by two server/app crashes that have resulted in my loss of about 8 bitcoins.  Especially in a strong game that was paying a lot of people, and then suddenly it ends and no way to keep the timer resetting and loss of several coins. Sad
