What you have speculated has come to a reality. Binance is one of the top exchange at the moment. Personally i like to use Binance exchange because it has a very friendly interface.

Binance changed the whole exchange scene with their BNB token and in a sense put every exchange before them who DIDN'T ICO at an disadvantage, but I think the recent pump of BCN and what happened with it shows this exchange isn't 100% transparent and squeaky clean.

Listing BNC could have been a bit of a lack of judgment by Binance but it could have just been bad luck, and I'm sure Binance did there due dilligence on the BCN team..they did, didn't they ?
There's a vitriolic article about the BCN Pump&Dump saga here , with Binance & Poloniex getting a bit of a hammering.
Even after this mess with BCN I'm still happy to use Binance and find it much better than the rest of the bunch out there.

$BNB has been very resistant to the correction these past few days, and it was also like this in the past. I think that the token will probably soon reach new ATH's if everything goes according to plan.

They've started a trend! bithumb and Huobi are both going to launch a token. For me they have found a fantastic and real use case that a few and far between at this immature stage in market growth!

We already know, now Binance is one of the best exchange in the world and it is generating huge volumes in the market. I hope in coming days we can see many new exchanges launching but far people will react to other exchanges we don't know.

Binance is indeed the fastest exchange platform in terms of growth. It is not yet even on its full first year of operation and yet it has already surpassed all the other exchanges that used to be ruling the market. Months prior, the likes of Bittrex, Poloniex, Huobi, Okex, etc were kind of ruling the exchange market and then comes Binance. The genius of Binance's founder brought huge success to this.
I have never talked to BNB but in my opinion many people and friends. BNB is a rather slow place to trade. Not as fast as people expect, or a bug has caused discomfort in the transaction.
I don't know what you mean by "slow place to trade" but if it's when you place a trade it takes a second or so to update the result then I think I've seen this happen to, but it's not a major flaw (if you could even call it a flaw).
At least Binance is a very reliable exchange with great customer support, unlike a lot of other major exchanges out there that have had, and are still having, major issues with there service.
I would not hesitate to recommend Binance to anyone, and I only use other exchanges if Binance does not have the coin I want to trade.

I'm using Awesome Miner to track my balances. I noticed that one address always shows 0, but my wallet shows a balance. So after digging in the block explorer, I noticed that for my binance addresses, if i make a deposit, it shows up but shortly after, the same amount is removed from the address. Thus, a net balance of 0. From binance I can see the correct/expected amount but from the explorer it shows a 0 balance. Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal, cos Binance is a CENTRALIZED type of exchange. You do not own that cryptos since you deposited it to Binance. Do not bother checking transactions and balances in blockchain explorer, since they can move the funds to cold wallets or swap them between hot wallets etc. You can check the balance only in exchange itself or through the API. If you want those coins back then you must withdraw it to your public key address to which you have a private key.
