You can buy/sell using BTC, ETH, BNB or USDT
On your top right menu, click on the current pair (ie: BNB/BTC) then click on ETH tab.
You will then be able to see all the crypto that you may trade using ETH in Binance.

eth, ltc, bcc, neo .... are all alt coins and u can trade with them on binance.

There's only btc, eth and bnb pair in binance so the only alt you can use to buy altcoins from binance beside btc are ethereum and binancecoin . It's almost the same on other exchanges, only btc and eth pair. If you want to buy altcoin then you have to sell your alts first to btc or eth.

First you can sell your altcoin to BTC and then buy the altcoin you want, although it will cost you some fees and a little fluctuation.
