As for the period, it varies depending on the number of people in queue and given that the bitcoin price has been high recently, you may wait longer than usual.
In general, it can take up to 15 business days. otherwise contact the support team to find out the solution to the problem.
From personal experience, if you send a clear and correct image, it is usually verified faster (from 1 to 3 days) and the lower the image quality, the longer it takes.

There used to be a form to escalate pending verifications in that announcement but they have removed it so you're left with the usual contact their support and follow it up in their social network sites

Anyone using binance.us? I submitted my US driver license photo and face photo. .binance.us says it is "Pending" but it has been a while. Anyone know how long it takes to verify?

Probably few days or weeks and the verification gets longer when the queue gets bigger. You no need to verify your identity to use coinbase wallet but you need to verify identity to buy or sell crypto assets in coinbase.com.
So just wait and if it takes too long then just raise a ticket to customer support.
