@marcotheminer,
Are all the Full Member slots filled? It's seriously my bad this time I didn't receive any code and just promises from their side that they are fixing it. I've checked the google docs spreadsheet and I think I'm out of the game. Please update me whether shall I still put the signature or remove it?

Rule update:
Minimum of 5 new topics (that's only one or two a week) in the bitcoin discussion board (make them interesting and relevant to news and continually reply to the discussion in the thread!)

What is the point in this and how is it even enforceable? Are you going to go through everybody's posts (potentially hundreds) one by one to check if they've made the mandatory minimum five threads? You can't even tell if they created the thread just by looking at their post history anyway. Seems more hassle than it's worth and will only cause problems for everyone.
You can look at the title of the thread in a person's post history. If the title starts with a "Re:" then it is a reply, if he title of the post does not have this then it is a new thread (at least this is how it is by default, someone could manually change the post title).

I think he is trying to weed out spammers with this rule (and others). I personally think this will end up backfiring as people will get denied payment for breaking the rules and get upset. Anyone that is denied payment for breaking the rules has the potential to make a lot of noise about the company and will likely counter the positive effect of signature advertising. I think the way that EvilPanda handles the GAW campaign (and the way that Stunna handled the PD campaign) is much more effective and less reputation risky then the way that the luckyb.it campaign is run (on the other end of the spectrum).

The result of this rule will probably be a lot more threads like this.

It will backfire especially if people are denied payment over technicalities. It's also still not really feasible to go through potentially hundreds of posts per user to check. This rule just creates more hassle for everyone - users, campaign manager and staff. There's easier ways to weed out spammers: check their posts before they sign up, keep an eye on them whilst they're posting and check again at the end of the term before you send payment.

Mimimum of 10+ posts in the beginners & help board. (this is a minimum NOT a max)

Must post minimum 10 post in bitcoin discussion and beginners & help? or select between?

Looks like Macro has updated the numbers from 10+ to 5+.

I believe you need to fulfill both the two requirements.

Edit: Please read the latest update in the next post by Macro.

Too many rule! Too many restrictions
At the end, all campaigner will get upset if they did not paid,
And this signature campaign is very not effective

Anyway

Good luck for who has joined and remember those restrict rule  Roll Eyes

You can edit the title of the reply you get. You can even take off the re thing, like I did, and make looks like you created the topic, by your logic.

By the way, when will the campaign start?

I tend to agree with you there. Weeding out spammers should be done while selecting participants. An effective tactic would be denying people with low quality posts the chance to participate in subsequent campaigns. They are less likely to make noise if they are paid, but are not allowed to participate in the next term.

It would be enforceable, without too much hassle.

This rule has been removed however. The following have been added.

Rule updates:
Minimum of 5+ posts in the bitcoin discussion board. (this is a minimum NOT a max)
Mimimum of 5+ posts in the beginners & help board. (this is a minimum NOT a max)

Personal Message text must not advertise another site (it can be something personal, not a site)

Effective immediately.

Enforcing this should be pretty simple.
You have a stat panel for each person's profile.
You can pull out details - including post count and number of topics started. A simple script can do this.
Run this script at the start and end of the term - voila, you have the number of topics started.

In my personal opinion, this rule will lead to more irritating spam. If spammy posts are buried deep inside, you can ignore them. If there are spammy topics, they will be more irritating.

This will give them a lot of exposure. Please update it in the OP.

As long we don't see people spamming low contend topics only to get their quota.

That will fall under spam and they won't be counted.

Remember: Make high quality topics, not only in the bitcoin discussion board, everywhere!
