SmartCoins in the BitShares ecosystem, Bit20 for example,  always have 100% or more of their value backed by the BitShares core currency, BTS, to which they can be converted at any time at an exchange rate set by a trustworthy price feed. In all but the most extreme market conditions, SmartCoins are guaranteed to be worth at least their face value (and perhaps more, in some circumstances). Like any other cryptocurrency, SmartCoins are fungible, divisible, and free from any restrictions.

You'll find the whole explanation in this page of the website BitShares.org that explain how the BitUSD and other smartcoin collateral works. In the case of BitUSD the value is pegged to the dollar, in the case of Bit20 the value is directly created by the witnesses. The collateral system that guarantees your asset is exactly the same.

Have a look, you 'll find it completely reassuring: https://bitshares.org/technology/price-stable-cryptocurrencies/

As far as I read and understand.  There are SmartCoin and UIA on bitshares. Bit20 is not SmartCoin, it UIA.
SmartCoin have this guaranteed mechanism and not UIA !??

Hello,

Very interesting asset.

I'm interesting to buy some!
But before I need to fill that my investment is safe.

You wrote on your site FAQ:

Quote
How secure is BTWTY ?

BTWTY is a smartcoin in the BitShares blockchain and does possess the same properties as the core asset BTS. We can agree that Blockchain technology has demonstrated so far that is more reliable than centralised online exchanges.
Can you please clearly what mechanism protect my from

Can you please clarify (or point me to more info) regarding the protection I have as investor in the asset in case on bankruptcy etc.

Thank you

That's a very good question Mostar !

Some data on the current market :

Even if we've been collecting data for over 18 months (available on the website), it has been done privately. The market itself was just born last Friday and what you see is its first baby steps  Wink

Bit by bit I read what u wrote and my impression was that ur index will be delisted from openledger if it ever gets there coz a punisher in a grey mantle appears and closes damn thread before the listing, thus burning ur low-effort posts.

Open ledger is a decentralised exchange, there is no "delisting" coins like a centralised exchange. What they could if someone would try to scam people with a token on the platform is to have it removed from the gui.
In any case, the token would remain on the BitShares Decentralised Exchange and still have its market alive.
(That was just for some basic information on Bitshares and Open Ledger.)

Now, I know Ronny Boesing, we've talked about Bit20 and he likes the idea.  I'm sure is he very happy with this project because it can bring him more volume on his markets Open.xxx.

It seems that the project is not well understood by everyone. I'm not here to ask money. It's not an ICO, I'm not asking for investments. I'm only announcing the project. Bittwenty is a crypto currency index fund. It's finished and the market is open, available to everyone.
It's a tool in the cryptocurrency world that you can choose to use or not.

where I could see the team working on your project, I thought maybe it should be more open to the public on this thread

The team has done all the work before launching the project. The project is finished and the market is open and order books are growing!

Have a look, this the main market pair at the moment: BTWTY : BTS

You can also see the state of the market on this independent website: http://cryptofresh.com/a/BTWTY

If you want to speak with team members in private, just send us an email (the email is on the website) or send me a PM in this forum.

If you want to see the work that has been done, just go and read this: http://www.bittwenty.com/bit20.php

If you have more question just shoot Wink

We can't be more transparent than that. All the explanations on the website aim to allow anyone to understand how the index composition and price is made.
Once you understand it (it's not complicated) you can verify any data on the website or in the decentralised exchange where the index is traded.
All the data is verifiable by anyone. As you will see after reading this explanation, we are 100% transparent and there is no way we manipulate dishonestly our own market. We have built it with that in mind so it's trustless and decentralised.

Have fun !

But how can I me not you but me make money on this. do tell.

If I understand well your question, you're asking me how can you make money with this index fund?

Well, it's similar to the process of making money with an index fund in the "real world" (out of crypto). Or if I simplify the subject even more, it's like making money with Bitcoin ... how do you do that? You trade it against other coins or you buy it and hold it!

You buy the index low and sell it high. You can also short the asset on the platform. Sell it high and buy it back later when it's cheaper. So you can also make money when the index is going down.

The index is traded against coins like BTS or STEEM. They have their own volatility. So, if you spot a moment in time when BTS is likely to go down and BTWTY up, you may double your benefit from the trade because both coins go in an opposite direction.

You can also simply buy the index and wait. The index has now around 300% of the value it has in June 2015 (The index ran privately during 18 months before hitting the public stage).

Here is the market pair BTWTY : BTS
