There's a noticeable fact: bit.ac share the same physical address with another famous multi-currency wallet--Coinomi, which claims to be open-source but you can't really find anything. be aware.

Hmm. Interesting. Bit.ac closing down and accused of stealing lots of bitcoin from their customers and then Coinomi as you have claimed shared the same physical address with bit.ac sounds alarming. I'm not accusing Coinomi of stealing or something, but they need some explanation do to if this is indeed true as the OP has mentioned. I've been hearing a lot of members using and trying out Coinomi, so I advise to be cautious and be aware about this findings by the OP. Can you please share what is the physical address that you are referring to so that others can see it and judge for themselves?

I feel so stupid, because I had some coins there and I wanted to move them to paper wallets. I have not prioritized this and I wanted to do it now after the summer. Now I went back to it and bit.ac is gone......

If any exchange or wallet goes bankruptcy, all the funds which they are holding are taken as part of the legal procedure.

If they are just a scam, they just run away with everything, I wished we could have the names of who are behind is.

One way or another, I would never keep my coins (those to be hold long) in any online wallet. But as you can see I made the mistake of waiting but this can happen so fast. There will be more issues like this on a regular basis. Keep your coins with you!!!

I feel so frustrated for my mistake  Embarrassed, to make myself feel a bit better I tell to myself at least it was your own mistake, not the banksters taking my money.... A new world

They have few latest tweets a week ago

All transactions will be live again by Monday, Aug 7th, 2017 (most likely by Friday night). We work hard to get the system back online.

But on August 7 they publish another tweet and postponed launch of their new site.

Maintenance undergoing. The last moments before the launch of our new website. Stay tuned!

It's been a week since that post and till now no any official statement from them, looks quite suspicious. The only multicoin that I will recommend others is jaxx because they give you full control over your coins.
How to use jaxx and why you say that you have a fully control about your coins.. i heard that there is a bug about jaxx wallet and there are many people are complaining about jaxx issue not only for backup private keys there are other reason. that is why for me its not safe to use a multiwallet for me if you really want to be safe to hold a multicurrency better to use a ledger nano s because you can safely hold all of your altcoin including bitcoin..

This once again is a painfull lesson to all. If you use a wallet where they have control of your keys......this is what can and will happen. Freewallet is another example of a very popular wallet where thay have your keys. Its as simple as this, if a wallet ask you for your email address in order to login then they have your keys.

BIT.AC STAFF
Guys! Everyone who experienced the same or similar "2FA to E-mail" issues with BIT.AC please contact me via PM. We will be able to quickly resolve your problems. Just one person (Lonkaster) contacted me so far and the problem was fixed in a matter of minutes

Unfortunately, there is still ongoing ddos attack (application level) taking place to our services. We are in process of moving our E-mail subsystem to Amazon AWS/SES platform, this may take a few more hours to finish.

Meanwhile, I am asking you guys to contact me directly via PM so we could be able to investigate each and every case and address the problems in a quick manner.

Still trying to contact the topic starter. genep, kindly ask you to get in touch with me at your earliest convenience.

Again, we apologize. We are working hard to solve the DDoS issues.

By the way BIT.AC is going to get a complete new look in a few days.

^^ its good that bitac management is already making some words on these countless issues against on the site. If the said thing was true then its really a serious inside job. Im little bit curious on how does 2fa identification have been bypassed? Knowing that most of us do have our own email and its not really conincident that most users would have the same issue. Please do clarify on whats happening on those lost funds.

We apologize for a delay in communication.

First of all, I would like to reassure that BIT.AC will never ever try to access your funds. Did you use two-factor authentication connected to Google Authenticator or Authy App for your BIT.AC account? There are a lots of cases of stolen funds caused by complete ignorance of security measures by customers. Unfortunately, we can do little about it.

For those who are still experiencing any issues with your BIT.AC, please don't hesitate to PM me your account ID and problem description so I will be able to investigate further.

Thank you.

The only thing they are paying is probably the hosting, but there still a bankruptcy chance because their affiliate program is simply too high to make them profit from it. A lot of people are facing this issue If you take a look at the announcement thread too: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1451453.220
Thanks for the link and now ive been informed on the current situation of BIT.AC and i was little bit surprised that they do have this such terrible situation which most of users lost or cant access their accounts and lost token/bitcoins/alts. This is already a serious thing since they are abandoning everything. Users should file a complaint but i think its somehow impossible to trace where those funds go.

I checked my ETH address and it was emptied.  So I guess you can say goodbye to your coins.

You're right, same thing happened to me. Literally minutes after I deposited coins they then get sent to someone elses wallet - but for some reason by balance still displays in the wallet even though i have no coins? Is this definitely a scam?
Its NOT a "scam" it is an INSIDE JOB -- its all built into the software that runs Digital-money
Have you gone insane or something?  Bitcoin's code is open-source and you'll find thousands of people with real backgrounds in IT who will tell you that this is a lie.  It could have been an inside job from BIT.AC but not from Bitcoin as a whole.

BIT.AC is completely unrelated to "the software that runs Digital-money" - you weren't running the software that runs digital money.  An example of software that runs Bitcoin would be Bitcoin Core, and a huge variety of other things.  When you put your money into an online wallet like BIT.AC, you do not own the coins.  They do and they are spending them for you.

Don't try and make the entire Bitcoin system seem bad when it's not.  If you have evidence that these guys were scammers (to be honest it's quite likely), then help to expose them and try to start legal action.  If not, you'll have no choice but to bite your tongue and move to a software wallet, paper wallet or hardware wallet.

- but don't worry, its only money, not Fiat Money but "Fraud-Money." Yes Helllloooooo   Digital-money was invented by Big Brother to improve the imperfect FRAUD of the banking system's current Fiat Money.
Bitcoin is against everything that bankers would want from a currency.  It:

-Gives full control to its users, if they take responsibility by holding their Bitcoin in their own wallets
-Has a limited supply which prevents abuse
-Is moderately hard to trace to an individual
-Is moderately hard to take over and control

There's no relation to banks at all.  You could compare exchanges and online wallets to banks, but not Bitcoin as a whole.

You could well be right but we don't know for sure yet, i think bankruptcy is a possibility. Only my eth is effected - i can withdraw all other coins. And when i look at the block explorer websites all my other wallets show 0 balance before I send the coins so they are obviously being sent from another wallet?

The eth address you mentioned is still receiving money but hasn't sent any money for 2 days now - looking through their history of transactions this has happened several times in the past. It's just the lack of communication that is making me suspicious. The updated business address is registered on the gov.uk website along with other information (it's different to the address listed on the bit.ac website) it's actually only 15 minutes from my work but not sure if it's worth going down?!

Its NOT a "scam" it is an INSIDE JOB -- its all built into the software that runs Digital-money-- how more OBVIOUS does it have to get:its not scammers but Insiders that are robbing the wallets -- it has been well established that ALL these Exchanges use the Coins their customers hold to Trade, ie buy and sell to manipulate prices for profit. U THink that your wallet at BIT.AC or Coinbase is yours ? -- no its theirs, they can do with it what they want  and completely get away with it by blaming hackers. Everything will look good until U want to take your Coins out -- only then does reality strike.

welcome to the real reality of Big Brother.

it looks like my eth has gone to the same address as you've listed. My first deposiot was over a month ago - i can't believe i didn't notice this before. Apologies if i'm sounding stupid - but they don't transfer our funds to a different wallet for any reason do they? I'm just asking because if they took my money 6 weeks ago then surely other people would of realised before now? Again, apologies if this has already been bought up in the past about bit.ac, however when doing a quick search i couldnt find anything.

Also i have the same issue with my fct address i.e i deposited money and got sent elsewhere after several minutes - however when i just tried to withdraw fct now i had no issues even though according to the blockchain there shouldn't be anything in there?
