Bitbay has also climbed up quite a bit and i guess people are cashing out.
There is also no buy support currently and I see it going down even more unfortunately.  Hopefully it doesn't scare away the newcomers because a lot of them are probably sitting at a loss right now with the current price.  People don't like seeing a coin's value drop by more than half

Anyone who sells alts here is a fool.

It's clear there is heavy manipulating going on. There are tons of big alts down 30% in a day. It's pretty treacherous. It's not gonna matter in the long run.

We have a new build coming out so yeah

Definitely a fool. Selling Thursday night at 40% higher than what your current Bitbay is worth and then buying it back when it hits bottom is dumb lol

Churners of course will always churn on huge dumps like this but I have been suggesting implementing mechanisms to punish churning for months on bay. The biggest issue is whale churners just create their own mass dumps at will this has always held back bay. Anyone watching the charts can observe in real time this happening constantly millions will be flash dumped with the same buy support appearing just below the end or towards the tail end of their dump. I am not sure why i observe this with bay more than with any other coin I keep an eye on constantly. I can only assume some large whales of bay are either 1 interested in holding the price down or just reason they will make more from churning over and over than letting it rise naturally. Either way if there was a way to implement tiered pos levels based  upon amounts held and duration held that would make them think harder about this. Sadly it seems with pos3 there is no way to do this.

The peg will take care of this apparently but the peg will end up being initially set at a far lower price than bay deserves due to these whale churners I wish some real long term investors would snap up their coins and destroy their game and their bay holdings in one swoop. If I had a spare 50-100 btc I would love to snatch their bay away from them in one go.

Well it is said that long term bulls usually defeat traders in how much they gain. I can attest that a long time ago I sold 2.5 million NEM and 4000 DRK for peanuts which today would have been worth over a million dollars combined. Granted today the markets got slaughtered. But I was more questioning the people selling on the sell side which is thin at this low price. A lot of coins are just following Bitcoin. It was literally coordinated. Most altcoins lost at least 20% today (including ETH). Despite those coins being decoupled from Bitcoin.

strange bay hit so hard today ... huge dump but those selling now will only have to buy back in higher

shame the peg isnt quite ready people would be jumping into bay rather than out right now.

Entire market is getting trashed. We need Bitcoin to figure out what it wants to be when it grows up before this will reverse...

Yup, Bitbay does seem to have been caught in the negative market sentiment. This is temporary and once things stabilize, altcoins with real value will start shining again. The altcoin market has been greatly diluted lately.

Yes agree. Shame btc was ever so dominant entire market hangs on the actions of a few big players here really.
Still if the peg was active and bay was stable vs usd then it would shine in times like this.

BitBay Community Update -  7/9/17

The Core team has come to the conclusion that it is in the best interest to revise the current website first, and then begin building a brand new website. This will give us more time to conceptualize our new branding guidelines.

The development team is finalizing the builds for the new release of Client. You can expect this release any day now. If you missed last week’s community update, this new version will update the following:
     Main update:
The new built-in price tracking Custom Contract Template and soon to be released Buy/Sell Anything Template. This price tracking is vital for merchants to keep their merchandise as accurate as possible in real time.

     Minor fixes:
Will provide a superficial fix to Mac synchronization issue
Updated addnode list to the bitbay.conf file allowing your Client to find network connections faster.

Blocknet has successfully tested an atomic trade transaction pairing a trade between BitBay and Digibyte! Their decentralized exchange (Dex) will allow BIP 65 compatible coins to trade with each other through direct exchange pairings (no need to transition to Bitcoin first). When they complete their design, cryptocurrencies will be able to trade coins without the need for traders to deposit their capital into the hands of a middleman and therefore provide a reduced commission fee per trade!
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.20008293

We are still organizing our preliminary budget before we release an official update to our community on our marketing fund, will update community as soon as it's finalized.

The development of our two secret summer projects continues. We will hopefully have more information on their progress by next week.

Very nice, 100% with you...

Thanks for the update ~ truxton!

 Grin

Can't wait for this to begin growing!
It's going to be a beautiful sight to watch the migration from centralized exchanges to decentralized exchanges!

Looking at Bitbay price chart I am not so sure if this is good time to buy. I see 1000 level testing.

We all know that TA analysis doesn't always turn to be correct. Specially if you think about what is coming in the roadmap.
Rolling Per Will make BAY less volatile and many People would invest in BAY during the BTC dips

I wouldt wait that much to buy in Smiley

Let the future decide where we get Smiley

Help, my balance has not showed up in my wallet.
I downloaded bootstrap, got the wallet synced sent my coins, but they have still not showed up 50 blocks later.
Its pretty stressful

Yeah looks like we have a bad node. Basically one of the nodes in the seed for new connections is in its own little bubble.

So it's no big deal however, I need everyone to check and make sure their block number matches chainz.

If it doesn't please sync again and add all the nodes in chainz under the network tab using the addnode command. If anyone needs more assistance with this please contact us here or on slack.

\Perhaps. You forgot the last part of the article: ""I think I will augment the disclaimer to say in effect [that I am not responsible for the content of markets]," Zimbeck wrote. "I know it isn't my responsibility.""

Relax. Seen it many times before. Will turn out to be one of the typical noob missunderstandings.
Get on slack, and we'll help you there.
