@cryptx Any plan for future boards sale again?

I would be interested too, albeit at a discounted price  Wink

Would almost have to be less than 40% of price this time to be attractive at all, I'd say...

If the price reduces by 40%, then you'll have at least 40% more buyers.  You can't win either way.  Too many miners involved now fighting for fewer coins.

If the price doesn't offer at least breakeven at slightly pessimistic estimates, I'll just skip it. If someone doesn't do their math and buys regardless, that's not my loss. *shrug*

Seriously, I don't think we'll have too many suckers left with any spare cash/bitcoins soon.

The vendors will just have to accept that they're in the race to the bottom, and make less profit than they used to in the first batch(es).

I too have one board that is only hashing at 7-10Gh/s, I will try to upgrade the firmware and see whats going on here. Of the 4 boards I received, 3 hash all at around 45-50Gh/s depending on my avalon settings, with a 4th 'dumb' board only hashing at a measly 7-10Gh/s (maybe faulty chips?)

I'm currently using cgminer 3.6.4, does anyone know how the second option under avalon options works if you have 3 attached via canbus, and one via usb?

Is the newest cgminer is compatible with these boards? One of them has a faulty USB port (never gets detected, why micro usb?!)

Has anyone been able to achieve anything more than >50gh/s without risking overheating?

There is nothing said on the site about warranty so be gentle to your board Cheesy
true, and on the other hand - next difficulty in 3 days will be +54%, so anyway soon these boards will be useless.
We can use the heatsinks to crack nuts though  Grin

I had a dead BitBurner board and no word from support yet.

It's completely dead. No lights come on or anything. My other 7 boards work fine.

The board used to work but I noticed it ran significantly hotter than the others from the start. It work for a few days and then just quit one day.

I have some basic test equipment and a high quality soldering iron but I haven't tried diagnosing it yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd really just like to return, repair or exchange it but asic-hardware hasn't returned my e-mail yet.

Updated firmware on both units and started mining with cgminer version 3.6.4
Now hashing at ~96GHs
Cheers,
QG
You should try running them at 265 with 980-1050mV because you should get the same results with less heat and consumption.

Nup, tried to lower mV in combination with freq, what ever i lower, lowers the GHs. btw, did do you mean 256? not 265.

My optimal setting I found for my boards are:
--avalon-options 115200:32:10:45:282 --bitburner-fury-voltage 1100

and i get a constant avg. 96GHs for a pair of boards.

Why is everyone pumping insane amounts of voltage to these chips? They won't hash faster(actually they will but not by much). I'm running at 270 and 970mV and i get 46.4Gh/s per board. Why should i stress the chip by pumping max supported voltage for 1.6GH/s? Lower voltage means less power consumption and less heat so for me it's a win win.

Anyone have a problem with the Bitburner boards crashing raspberry pis?
[...]
I'm at a loss as what is left to try. Anybody have any other suggestions or seen this error before?

If you have changed the Raspis and SDcards, the only remaining problem source is power. Please check the Pi's power supply is ok.

Oh, another possibility is that the SDcard connector pins could be slightly bent too low and won't make good contact. This is very apparent with certain SDcards that are slightly thinner than others, and will work most of the time, but cause intermittent problems. So, check the SDcard connector pins too.

I have several power supplies and I've tried them all. They are all the same type though so maybe it is possible that the model supply I'm using can't provide enough power. I ordered some new ones on Friday which should be here tomorrow so hopefully that will fix my issue.

Anyone have a problem with the Bitburner boards crashing raspberry pis?

It doesn't really make much sense but randomly the raspberry pi will freeze up with a "Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address" error.

The only way to continue is to unplug the pi and plug it back in.

I've tried two different raspberry pis with two different SD cards. I've tried using a wireless USB network adaptor and a wired ethernet connection. I'm using a powered USB hub. I've tried 2 different hubs and also tried using no hub at all.

I'm running the special version of cgminer recommended in the instructions and using raspbian wheezy on the pi.
I've ran rpi-update to update the firmware.

None of my other raspberry pis ever crash, and this pi only crashes when running cgminer with the 8 bitburner boards. It's strange that sometimes it will go a couple of days without crashing and then suddenly it will stop working and I won't even get it to run 15 minutes without crashing again repeatedly.

I'm at a loss as what is left to try. Anybody have any other suggestions or seen this error before?

I have been running the latest minePeon PR2 image (with CGMINER) and so far so good.  I have the PI also hooked up to a Little Single in addition to the 2 Bitburner boards. However if I reboot the PI I have to power cycle the boards to recover from the USB write errors

I have an 8-board set that was running fine for about a week. One of the boards seemed to always be significantly hotter than the others. One day it just died. No lights or anything.

Any suggestions on how I might salvage this board. I e-mailed asic-hardware but I haven't heard from them. I'm hoping I can get it fixed or exchange it or something.

shep80,

I'd f-ing love to do that *BUT* I've been afflicted with the "my mini-USB connector tore off under only the weight of the USB cable" thing on that second board ..... Undecided

H@shKraker

Oh, sorry, I must have missed that on the thread  Sad

I re-did all the thru-hole solder work before setting mine up. The soldering was not done correctly to say the least Sad

Given that you're stuck with the CANBUS setup you're somewhat stuck looking at the light patterns on the LEDs to see if it's finding shares.
