The conference was great in my opinion! Were you there? What did you like the most?
I liked the new Lamassu two-ways, although it seems overpriced (around 15k if I recall well), the promise of Circle, seeing many new ATMs, the work being done on the code.. and Jinyoung Lee from the BTCF!

I'm hoping to test out the new regulations that let you leave the airport on layovers in Russia without a visa. Will let you know how it goes. Would love to see the city for a few hours.

What is a full node and how does it compare to a non-full node?
A full node is a computer running the full version of Bitcoin, storing the blockchain and verifying transactions. If you run the default client you run a full node.

I'm in the USA. Seems like reason enough to host it in the USA. 
That list showing nodes means the IP addresses from which bitcoin is mined? Less than 7500 in the whole world?

Why the HELL would they have it in Holland when Bitcoin was made in the USA? Have the confab in Los Angeles so I can easily attend!
http://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/nodes-active/ Netherlands is 9th on the list with 249 full nodes 8.9% of the number one on the list the US with 2787 full nodes while having only 5% of the population. Weighted by total inhabitants of the country the Netherlands is first on this list. Seems like reason enough to host it in the Netherlands.

This is officially the biggest Bitcoin conference of the year! I wish I can make it to Holland

To the extent that these conventions also do outreach and membership drives and bring more folks into TBF, this would be that thread.

This seems to be a different event.
The San Jose 2013 Bitcoin Foundation conference was not a closed event in that non-foundation members outnumbered foundation attendees, though the sign-up booth was pretty busy.
We need a conference in Kansas City.
There needs to be a BTC conference in Los Angeles so I can go to it.
Travel to Holland is pretty easy and it is a good place for conferences.
I can assist with organizing in LA in needed, there are plenty of folks. We have a large bitcoin population here, some of the Meetups are 200+ and turning folks away at the door if you aren't there early.
