But year ends are more surprising than rest of the months of a year especially with respect to bitcoin prices some drastic changes were witnessed at those time in last few years. The main reason would be more money flow among bitcoin users.

My predictions based on last year's festival times would be around $980 price levels for the starting of 2017.

You guys have no understanding what bitcoin is if you think, in this unstable financial environment that bitcoin would be less than $3000 is beyond me.

Everybody just spews their prediction with no REASON behind it..

Look Price is determined by Supply and Demand.
Demand is determined by CAPITAL FLOWS from competing markets.

Do you guys realize how small $11 Billion is in terms of financial markets? Honestly?

Apple (1 company) is worth $600 Billion dollars.  Paypal ( a completely crap system) is worth $50 Billion and it's totally proprietary.

There is a total of $365 Trillion in world markets including real estate.

Bitcoin is THE ONLY SYSTEM ON PLANET EARTH that is decentralized and trust-less.

Just as a store of Wealth it competes with Gold a $7 Trillion dollar market cap.

The odds of a market cap <$35 Billion next year is LOW..

So take ( $35-$45 Billion / 16 Million ) and this is WORSE CASE SCENARIO price of bitcoin by end of 2017.

If seqwit and LN and a moderate 2mb on chain solution is reached by q1 ro q2 next year this figure will tripple.

I don't want to be rude but I'm a bit miffed at the lack of understanding of Capital Markets and the nature of Bitcoin as an efficient competitor to these markets.

Hope I didn't offend but in my honest opinion you guys should really understand the ramifications of what Bitcoin really is and can do.

not much left to the new year and if we are talking about the start of the year 2017 i think there may be some small rise because of the new year up to $780 (lower than $800) but in the first half of 2017 we will surely see $820 as the new stable price.

Bitcoin will quite good in this year and for next year it will continiously keep rising. I know there are traders make profit every day because of this unstable price of bitcoin i estimate the price of bitcoin in June 2017 that it would be at the price of $1200 maybe less or more

It depends:
Bitcoin splits in two: $400-500 plus $100-150 on another chain
Bitcoin does not split (I favor this scenario): $700-1000 if no ETF (COIN) or $2500-3500 if ETF starts trading early in the year.

I think we need to wait for the activation of Segwit to see the course of price, it seems a hot debate between developers.  This somehow affect the price of bitcoin and it is uncertain if it will affect in positive or negative way.  The uncertainty of price is due to the different stance of the developer regarding this matter.  So in my opinion we can never say if Segwit will boost the price of bitcoin.  So for now i cannot see 1000 USD coming unless Segwit will produce a big hype when it is activated.

The bitcoin predictions are good but the fact is that it will be hard predict indeed, I really hope it will reach the 1000 dollar fast, in the first quarter.

As I wish that it can be higher than it is now, but when we think of it if gets to its highest there might be a bad effect in anyway possible Like some investment site might become scam due to the users expectation that they cant meet because of btc value . I just hope that it may be higher than it is with no issues like taxes or charging fees or better be stable on what it is andnjust enjoy eveything btc can offer now.

As far as i know  bitcoin is still alive  at year 2017.  Even though some people already  give there predictions in 2017,all we know is ,its only a guess and  not the exact things that will happen to bitcoin.

My prediction is that it will be trading in the $500 to $1000 range. Going above that can be harmful in the long run.

I think that we will surpass 1000$ in the second half of 2017.
After that there can be a longer period of stagnation, so I would say by the end of 2017 the bitcoin price might be somewhere slightly above 1000 dollars.
Always presumed that there are no incidents on the market nobody can predict.

High possibility bitcoin would be around current price - $1000 in 2017 if there is no problem and bitcoin adoption keep increases. It maybe hard to reach $1000 if we don't make any progress as this month the price seems stagnant at $730, it's good than before of course and we hope the price keep increasing.

i think for the end of 2017 its really hard for the bitcoin price to reach in above than $1,500 but i think if only $1,000 then its could be possible to reach because with many of people will start using bitcoin in 2017, the price will be go up in next year. but its just only my prediction, i don't know the reality what will happen in next 2017.

How about you give me back the bitcoin you stole from me and then it'll go to 10k?

From the information that I got, the price to produce a single Bitcoin, at the moment, is something around 600 USD, so if the price drops it will not be that much.
If improvements like segwit are implemented, I think we'll see some rise, probably this year. After segwit, the price changes next year will depend on adoption, apps like megaupload 2.0, lightning network and such things.

It's likely that the price reaches this range, maybe even in the two thousand dollars range, but after a while, I believe there will be a phase of price correction, so the value can stabilize between $ 1000 and $ 1500, but it's still too early to be sure.

It is gonna happen, bitcoin will reach $1000, already did - just not globally.
People were paying way above standard 'global' rate for BTC in India recently when Indian government decided to withdrawn 1000 and 500 rupee banknotes.
This move caused huge uproar and Indian citizens flocked to buy BTC, that caused price to go way up to $850.
Similar story happened in Nigeria a week ago - Bitcoin reached $1250 there.

I voted for $1000. We all like that to happen. Since many people now recognize the bitcoin. Expect the continious growth of users and the more users the more rise the price gains. Besides, we are at the $700 barrier and i think it is easy for the price to rise at $1000 a piece. We all know at the latter days of bitcoins, it already reached $1000 so why not this gonna happen again?

I voted for current value-1000, because this just seems realistic. We have seen btc 1000$ before and it is not very far from that now, so within the year it may get somewhere close to that. However, I don't think that it will go above this sum, because I just don't see any good reasons to believe in that.
