There is going to be a correction sooner or later, bitcoin was growing too fast and too greedily, like the dwarf of Moria

if true bitcoin will continue then this will have a positive impact on project projects that are in the period of funding and if the conditions are the same as in 2017, there will be many successful projects with quite pleasant openmarket prices and this is what we have been waiting for

if btc retraces 30 to 40 percent when it hits 13k to 15k what will happen to alts will they fall as well or will they go up or how would it play out? only long term players please..
Most time Bitcoin and crypto coins don't follow those Fibonacci principle and some time were you expect retracing that is when another strong pump occur! I think it is speculative based and the more good news we heard the more profitable it becomes. Therefore, I will said that now is a strong bullish time and from my experience in trading in this market we should not expect a dip retracing especially when everyone is speaking good of the cryptocurrency market. The altcoins are going to recover and I expect that most of them are going to remain strong this time too.

if btc retraces 30 to 40 percent when it hits 13k to 15k what will happen to alts will they fall as well or will they go up or how would it play out?

Alts seem to get funded well only when Bitcoin is "loaded" and the money flow into starts to slow down.
When Bitcoin jumps alts fall behind; when Bitcoin falls, alts also fall, sometimes even more than Bitcoin.

So for your use case (bitcoin falling) I'd expect the altcoins fall. However, if Bitcoin will not fall and will only slow down, then the equation changes completely...
If this is expressed through equations, then the current initial wave has slightly different initial values of the variables.
Namely. Until spring 2017, Bitcoin held about 80% of the market. Now it is 50-60%. In addition, many new altcoins have now appeared, some of which are dying and some occupy a market share. Now the behavior of altcoins may be different.

Some of the altcoins will fall but the other altcoin will increase because not all altcoin is down when bitcoin price increase. Besides that, I am sure that there is a strong altcoin which can increase following with bitcoin trends. But yes, we will see a big red candle in the market because maybe almost half of the coin list in one exchange will get a red candle.

As far as I know when bitcoin rises rapidly, bitcoin rises very slowly. but when bitcoin goes down, the altcoin also drops rapidly and even exceeds the decline in bitcoin. I don't know why like this, I see a pattern like this for the past 2 years.

I'm long term to bitcoin and Ethereum. I know understand the feeling of you guys who are mostly holding alts on your portfolio's. If bitcoin dominance keeps on increasing, btc pairs won't be able to catch up if you are a day trader because it will just increase continuously.

And for those full time alt holders, as you may understand that alts are stumbling down but that doesn't mean it will forever. If you analyze the alts, many of them are following bitcoins increase although the dominance is against alts.

so far every time without fault, each time bitcoin has a small drop like 10%, the altcoins get dumped hard for at least 10% but many of them get dumped more up to 20% and more.

so if bitcoin were to drop 30% to 40% then altcoins must drop at least 60% to 80%.

in any case 40% drop for bitcoin is impossible at this point.
30% drop is highly unlikely
20% drop is more likely only if we reach $15000 in less than 10 days. otherwise if we slowly get there in a couple of weeks there is no way we could see big drops.
other than that i wouldn't count on anything bigger than 10% drops for bitcoin.

if you are a long-term player, please look at the price history of other Alts in coinmarketcap, of course you will find answers when they will grow up with a new trust from the investor, this will take time and maybe you can go to coinmarketcap.com to see previous history in 2015 or 2016 the prices of alts and bitcoin
We all know that in 2017 is the peak price of bitcoin, so I'm assuming 2019 is the same as in 2015, hopefully helping you find answers or visiting my thread here

I don't think that case will happen. Because at the beginning of 2018, we saw the disastrous drop of BTC and Dominance of it fell to 48%, which is the lowest level.
and then, ETH and other altcoins also plummeted due to the excessive losses of investors.
But the truth is, altcoins are about to be pumped strongly because the price of BTC has risen too high.
This is the time for us to buy more altcoins and hold for 3 more weeks.

BTC is moving parabolically at the moment. Before the finish of this movement, alts will not start their bull run. And while BTC moves dramatically (upside or to the downside no matter) alts are always going down.

It's difficult, isn't it?

Normally once a big BTC rise exhausts itself, alts take over and start to soar. Whether that will happen this time or not, we don't know. Everything in crypto is guesswork. We can just use our knowledge and a study of past history to try to make a better guess, but fundamentally we are all still guessing.

Personally I think BTC will continue to rise and alts will start to rise with a higher % increase. and then once BTC stops I hope it will level off so we can establish some solid support. But there we go - I'm guessing, and I'm already starting to mix cold analysis with messy emotional considerations...

Now current Bitcoin Dominance has reached 59.8%. if its price goes up to $ 13k but Dominance is down, it means that the amount of money poured into the market focuses on altcoins. And what is certain is that altcoins will go up very high and I really want that case to happen. I'm holding quite a lot of ETH. Grin
